Description: Sakura called Bao up to ask him about Vega and possibly why Vega wanted him. Sakura found out why Vega has interests in the underdeveloped child in a tournament match-up. She found out the really hard way. (Winner: Sakura)
Last night, Sakura stumbled upon Kensou as he was struggling to figure out the operation of a pair of cellphones for himself and Chin-sifu. And Kasugano's delivery of the operation instructions served as a shallow excuse for a sparring match between the two.
But it also served to pass notice that someone was going around beating the crap out of members of the Psycho Soldiers team. The man with the claw had before, after Athena embarassed Vega in a fight, and Sakura was quite upset... but they're just picking on kids now.
Specifically, Bao, who Sakura had just dialed up on her cellphone. She'd gotten the numbers in the process of setting up Kensou's phone... an above-average memory comes in hand sometimes. Kasugano had left a message for Bao to come talk with her at Taiyo... didn't really say why, but they =had= played tennis against one another. What's the harm, right?
Aside from the medal pinned to her shoulder, of course...
After Bao received a call from Sakura, the young boy was more than happy to speak wih Sakura personally. Skipping along the front grounds of the school gate, the youthful sprite is wearing the usual orange chinese top with the orange short-shorts... and the orange mushroom-hat.
This kid really likes orange and he could use some new fashion tips.
Nevertheless, Bao smiles at the approach of the older teenager, "Hi Sakura!" Bao sprints over to meet with her. Of course, Bao has a medal too!
The young Psycho Soldier pauses, "...Wow! You have a medal!" His eyes become sparkly. It's like looking at something shiny.
Eyes following Bao's gaze, Sakura gives a big-sisterly grin back to the boy. "Yup! Got four, actually, just keeping the others back at the house 'just in case'." Tilting her head to the side for a moment, she motions Bao a bit closer. Now, it might seem weird for a highschooler in a sailor fuku to be sharing 'secrets' with a junior high kid, but there's a message here. "... Um... well, we can fight if you wanna, really? But the reason I called you was... I talked with Kensou last night. He mentioned a man who'd come to visit you, and... er..." She scratches her cheek for a moment. "Was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about him?" She doesn't want to push -- she's not quite as chipper as usual, out of concern that he might not want to revisit that fight. But she =is= still curious, and she has her handguards on for a fight.
"Yeah! We can fight!" Bao is grinning widely towards Sakura while he walks closer to her. He willbe glad to face off against the schoolgirl. she displayed quite a show during the tennis matchup. It was rather exciting, but Bao's expression falters when she mentions about...
That Man. Not the Guilty Gear one. That's not in theme.
Bao lowers his head a bit, lowering his arm while he rubs his hand across the elbow.
"...That man..." He recalls the name as if it was scarred into his mind when Athena told him. "Vega." He lowers his head, "He...is a very evil man... I... sensed his aura when he approached me. He was scary. Very scary. I could feel his hate. Nothing but... just hate."
He tries to recall everything, "...He has the same kind of power that sister Athena, brother Kensou, and I have." He shudders, "He was telling me that I had the power to destroy. He wanted me to show him what I could do. My powers.. I could not control it as he grew closer. He said that he is what I'll be... that he is the dark thing inside of me. I fell into his baiting... and I destroyed most of the things at the town when I was trying to blast him in the face."
Nodding slowly, Sakura adds, "He'd... been chasing after my master for a while. And to some extent, he'd sent some of his goons after me too. Just not so much -lately-."
Taking a deep breath, Sakura nods slowly. "Which... was why I was trying to figure out what he had to do with you three. But it kinda makes sense that you'd have the same kinda power as him, I mean... geez, Kensou about knocked me flat last night. And here I thought I'd gotten =used= to it! Guessed wrong, y'know?"
Chuckling lightly, she smooths her skirt across her lap, before pushing herself up from the bench. "Well... gotta work on the control, right? Don't want you blowing the city up or nothin'..." Flashing another one of those big-sister grins back at the boy, Sakura clenches her fist tightly by her side. "What do you think of, when you fight... normally? What gives you your strength?" And, with a slight tilt of her head to indicate Bao's medal, she asks, "And would you be willing to show me?"
"...So he is going after your master..." Bao frowns, then he smiles, "I bet your master will beat him down like my sister beat him down! Bao is trying to give off a bigger smile to help shed light in his downcast visage. He's doing a good job at that, at least.
But, Bao nods towards Sakura, "...Our powers are strange." Not to mentiont hat people feared him and the village considered his birth a curse. It probably has something to do with his Psycho Power. The youth smiles at Sakura once more, then he tightens his stance to where he slides his right foot forward. Tightening his fists, Bao starts to bounce around. "Well, I think of all of the good things! Like... Sonic the Hedgehog! Monkey Ball and all of the things that make me happy!" He beams, then he starts to gain his spirit.
With Sakura issuing the challenge, Bao says, "Alright! Time to show what I can do!... And I'll even put a medal on the line!" He giggles, sliding his right foot forward.

"Great!" replies Sakura to Bao's answer of happy things. It's something she practices too: smiling when you're really sad inside. No sense in dragging other people down, right? ... She didn't really think that video games were the best source for fighting inspiration, but whatever floats the kid's boat, right? "That'd be where you get the spinny moves from, I'd bet..." she notes with a scratch at her cheek. Again, not that she minds, but at least she's modeling herself after a real fighter.
She knows Bao's no pushover though. Whatever he's thinking of is clearly working in his favor, after all. "I'll put mine on the line for you, then!" she cries back, raising her elbow to him as she pivots to the side, nodding slowly in his direction. "Whenever you're ready, bring it on!"
With Sakura's positive affirmation, Bao is grinning widly. The youth is keeping himself in his fighting stance. Bouncing his body to feel his rhythm, Bao is keeping a good eye over toward the woman. The youth nods, "Yeah! That move was awesome!" He moves around a bit, then he keeps watch over the school girl, watching her get into her stance.
So, that's it. Bao is sprinting over towards Sakura, launching himself forward with serpent like fist towards her stomach. It's not quite telegraphed, but it is more of a feint so that Bao can sweep his right foot over towards Sakura's ankle.
Should that foot be successful, he'll launch himself forward with a knee to the gut.

Well... it is. Because, despite her call to action, Kasugano still isn't quite ready for Bao. For one, he's being sneaky. For another, he's frickin SHORT -- a fact which she finds out when the boy steps at her foot and drives a knee into her abdomen. Now who taught the boy a move like -that?-
Stepping backward from the mild attack, Sakura flashes him a grin just the same. "Way to keep me on my toes!" she compliments... before deciding to show the boy what -her- long legs can do. Specifically, she's aiming for a knee to the sternum, followed by an unhinging extension of her leg to knock the boy down with the follow-through. "Hyyyaaah!"

After striking the woman, Bao offers a giggle. "Yeah!" He takes a few steps back from Sakura, keeping an eye on her as he tightens his stance. And with that done, Bao can't help but giggle at the school girl. "Thanks!"
And when she strikes over to attack hima gainst the foot, Bao is tucking his had over, grimacing over the blow to the head. Of course, he shifts his head over along the motion of the foot's path to help him roll over the impact so that it doesn't send him sprawling back any further.
But while taking in the blow, Bao is shifting his weigh over to where her foot hangs over his shoulder. Bao shifts his weight over, thrusting his palm into the air to give Sakura a shipping toss towards the ground.
Lingering pain aside, Bao steps in his fighting stance with a giggle. "Se-yah!"
Alley-oop! Sakura's not exactly -heavy-, especially not with her limbs giving the tiny boy plenty of leverage! "Ooh-whaaaaaaoh!" she shouts as she finds herself hefted overhead and flipping to the ground, back-first. "Ow!" she comments, upon the landing. Thank you for flying Psycho Soldier Airways, do come again.
... Mind, she's not going to let this keep up for long. Kipping back to her feet, she takes several long strides to give the boy some distance, one hand extended to keep him at bay. "Not bad, not bad! You're makin' me work for this one!" she chirps, rubbing some feeling into her shoulder as she keeps an eye on him. "But you've still got a ways to go before I'm down for the count!" she cries, rubbing her nose with the back of her handguard. All talk? Well... not totally, as a flicker of blue flame tickles along the edge of her fingertips.

Bao can't help but giggle at Sakura, then the youthful sprite gives a smile. He takes several steps back, getting over to safety. "Thanks! You're awesome too!" He beams, then he gives her a repeated nod. "Mmhmm!"
Bao says, "Oh! I was supposed to show you what I could really do!" He brings both of his hands together. Between the hands is a blue sphere forming in its path. Channeled from his spirit, in a way, Bao lets the ball sparkle into life. Glitters and sparkles are pretty!
And then... Bao shoots the sphere towards Sakura, "Psycho Ball!" It bounces along the ground, racing at the schoolgirl.

Kasugano nods in reply to Bao. "Yeah, that'd be nice!" she quips back with a healthy grin. "But I think you'll find..."
The blue flickers at her fingertips soon become a raging maelstrom of energy, as she brings both hands to her side. Spreading her hands wide, the energy blossoms like a violet, petals losing their individual definition as the mass spins faster and faster. "... That mine's not so bad either!" And with a step forward, she looses the blazing fireball out towards Bao, the schoolgirl-sized blast cresting over top of the bouncing Psycho Ball, washing it away with the tide. "HADOOOOUKEN!" Though the center is pretty much blown out in the process, the pancaked mass folding in upon itself, yielding a much smaller projectile to continue onwards towards Bao.

Well, with Sakura forming the hadouken, Bao's eyes widen to see her incoming blast as she is prpared to unleash the huge fireball. "Whoaaaa..." Bao's eyes widen when he sees the large blast shooting straight his way.
Shifting his position to where he can spring into the air, the child takes a leap high. But unforunately, he is caught in the tide as it blasts him quite hard. It sends him sprawling to the ground, "Oof!" Bao groans, then he slowly gets back up to his feet. "Nice!" Bao giggles, then he sprints towards Sakura once more.
Only this time, he leaps off from the ground, tilting his body over in a cartwheel over her head. And on the landing...
Bao shifts his weight to where his body leaps into the air, he lashes out his right leg towards the back of Sakura's head, followed by the other leg. It's Shuriken Kick.

Shuriken Kick? Well... it might look like one, but it's not coming from a true ninja, so Sakura still has a chance!
In fact, an almost -certain- chance here. With the Chinese boy in the air, Sakura just... takes two steps back and watching as he closes in.
That kick aimed for her head instead meets a raised forearm -- but Sakura had backed up to give herself a bit of a running start. By taking the hit on her arm, she pretty much guarantees Bao can't get out of her followup attack -- a leaping uppercut to the sternum which is more than likely to send the boy sailing up into the air. "SHOOOU'OOU KEN!"
Mind... when she lands, she winces. Because if that felt painful to -her- she can only imagine how the twelve-year-old felt. "B...Bao, hey... you okay, huh? I didn't kill you or nothin, did I?" She's joking, but she =is= concerned!
Ah yes... that was a fun gift to receive. With Bao coming along with the kick, Sakura manages to knock the twelve-year-old right into the air with the impacting fist. Oh man... Oh -MAN- does it hurt.
Bao's eyes widen while he coughs up his saliva from the impact. The breath taken right -out- of him, Bao is flung into the air, then he twists along the ground.
Crash! It's a lovely impact to boot. Slowly lifting himself up, Bao gives a thumbs up towards Sakura, "Yeah!" He straightens himself up, even if it is a slow stagger. The young man extends his hands outward, channeling the Psycho Power to glimmer in his grasp. Bao positions himself, then he keeps a sharp eye.
More and more, the growth of the power expands out. "Eghghnnnnn...." He pulls out a ball, which grows taller... wider... and just plain bigger than him.
Then.... Bao fires it out like a comet toward Sakura, "SAIIII!!!" The impact sends Bao sprawling back until he lands on his face, "Ooof!"

Ah, yes... =that= was a fun gift to receive too. Film at eleven.
Sakura's still somewhat smug with the success of her punch, even if she =is= showing concern for the boy's welfare. She doesn't just wanna keep beating on him or anything, right?
... doesn't seem she has much t worry about that, though, as the ball of pure Psycho Power is unleashed towards her. Sakura gathers her hands by her side, nodding in return to Bao. "Good, good! That's perfect!" She's... happy to see it, because it means Bao's getting up and standing up for himself, =and= she gets to see what he's really made of!
Flicking her wrists forward with a cry of "HADOOOOUKEN!" ... well, she gets to see what he's really made of, as the same trick won't work =this= time! Her fireball disappears into the ball of Psycho Power, engulfed completely... and seems to have absolutely no effect at all! Oh noes!
And Sakura pays dearly for it, as the projectile smashes into her, carrying her away like a tidal wave and sending her crashing into the classroom building. Luckily, there's only slight damage to the building itself, but Sakura falls numbly to her knees just the same. She looks as if she's been run over by the soul train -- pale as a sheet!
At least, until she slaps herself =hard= with one hand. Mouth numb, she shakes it off. "Aaaaaah! Twwwy haaaawduh, I'm stiiw imm dis!"
Bao's eyes widen as he witnesses Sakura suck down a full dosage of Psycho Power. The impact of it all levels her... That actually scares Bao, and he is hopig that he didn't... you know.. kill her.
Bao blinks a few times, then he sees that Sakura's quite well and able not move again. Bao smiles at the school girl, "Excellent, you can still fight!" He cheers, "You're strong!" Bao starts boucing around, then he channels his Psycho Power once more. With the energy gathered, Bao immediately throws another ball right at her chest, "Yaaa!" Just for good measure.

Well, she's not dead yet, no! "Of course I can! And am! You're htiting me with the power of Justice, right? So I ought to be even =stronger= now!" ... Twisted logic, but it seems to be keeping her out of a coma, so hey.
And if at first you did succeed, only to be completely overwhelmed by the next failure, then try, try again! This time when her hands curl at her side, it's with a bit more urgency. Her hands curl around it like throwing pottery, but in her impatience, and the need to whip something out quick, she realizes she can risk a bit more this time. Thrusting her hands forward, she cries, "HADOOOOUKEN!" --- and =this= time, it's her projectile that wins the fight, sweeping right past Bao's and heading straight for him!

Bao laughs a bit. Yeah! His power is based on Justice! Honestly, Bao is glad that Sakura is kicking and giving him a hell of a fight. But, at least Sakura knows -why- Vega seems to have an eye out on the child, who has undeveloped powers. The young boy giggles at the girl, then he sees her unleashing another hadouken his way.
Oh crap.
Bao's eyes widen, bracing for the incoming pain that's going to arrive. He extends his right hand out, channeling for the Psycho Ball to shoot straight out at Sakura. With it pressing forward, both the Psycho Power and the ball of chi collide together. Splashing into the air, both are negated into nothingness.
Wide eyed, Bao gives an impressed, "Wow...."
"... wow, nice!" compliments Sakura as the pretty lightshow puts a flashy end to her projectile. "Got any more tricks up those sleeves of yours, though?" she asks with a palm extended out to the boy.
Well. Right before she breaks into a run straight for him, that is! And instead of lobbing another risky fireball, she instead moves into something a bit more risky -- dashing into a leap forward, delivering a flying jump-kick to the sternum! "Hyyyyyaaah!"

The incoming flying kick strikes the hell out of Bao. After his impressive display of power, Bao is sen flying straight towards the ground. He rolls along the air, then back to the ground. Ow...
"...Fight... fun..." Bao pulls out a medal, then he holds it out towards Sakura, "We fight.... next time!" He's cheerful, then he relaxes his muscles as he lies down.

... there is such a thing as overkill, huh.
"... eesh... wow... yeah, that was =crazy=, Bao...." She dashes over, kneeling beside the boy. She reaches for the medal, sliding it into her palm, but instead of retracting her hand afterward, she clasps her other hand around his. "That was very impressive, Bao! I thought you were finished when I punched you the once, but man, did you =ever= come back with a =vengeance!=" Grinning brightly, she releases and rocks back to take a seat beside the boy. "So... were you thinking all about Sonic just then, the =whole= time...?" She's curious to see if the answer's changed, especially after the way he's summoned the giant ball of hurt for her. "Did I get you mad or anything?"
Wow, that was fun.
Bao slowly leans himself back up to his feet, then he beams when she grasps onto his hand, lifting him back up. The youth giggles at Sakura, "Usually! I sing a song to help me focus when I channel most of my power!" He beams, then he grins, "Nope! I wasn't mad at all! I was just thinking about focusing and chanting my favorite Sonic song to help me keep my concentration up."
He pauses, then he smiles. He leans up while he gives the example.
o/` They call me Sonic. I am faster than sound, I keep on jumping around. o/`
o/` Blue hedgehog Sonic, with incredible speed, I'm moving my feet! o/`
"Heh heh..." chuckles Sakura, flexing her hands behind the back of her head. "... That's incredible. Usually if I try humming a song I end up forgetting about it after the first punch, y'know?" Smirking lightly, she flips the medal into the air, like a coin, before catching it and adding it to her sleeve beside the other one. "I was =wondering= how good of a match you'd be from that little tennis match and all. Hey, and if you see Momo, tell her 'hey' for me, wouldja?"
Blinks. "... Oh, and if that Vega guy comes after you again, call me! I'll help you out!" And with that, Sakura brushes herself off. "Don't wanna keep you, though..."
Bao can't help but look up at Sakura. Even after his defeat, he remains smiling. It's a cheerful look to the child that gives off that he's full of bright energy.
With Sakura playing with the medal, Bao considers that he only has a few more fights until he loses them all. Bao grins at Sakura, 'Mmmhmmm! I wondered how good you were as well! I enjoyed our match-up!" Ahh... only a few medals left. No matter.
Bao stands up, then he waves to Sakura. "I'll let Momo know! I haven't seen her in a while!" Ahh.. Momo. Bao's beautiful girlfriend! Either way, Bao sprints off, "Cya later!"
