Description: Cannons raining down death by baseball onto Sakura and Heavy D! The boxer and schoolgirl handle Duck and Xiangfei's assault pretty well, but in the end Heavy D! pulled out a win after a close match overall. (Winner: Heavy D!)
Oh god, what sort of nightmare has been unleashed this evening? Terrycloth clothing, big hair, guys in makeup. No this isn't a drag show, but it is close. Tonight happens to not only be Wednesday Night Breakdown, but it is also 80's night. Yes all the patrons are decked out in outdated and flakey fashion while DJ Buddy Lee is playing 'You Spin Me Round' over the speakers as people start to get cleared from the dancefloor by security. When the song finishes up 'Danger Zone' begins to play and the stage set up near the dance floor lights up to reveal two rather large canons that look somewhat like what they used on American Gladiators. "Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to The Duck Pond." Buddy Lee begins while the music gets turned down. "Here are your hosts for the evening, Radical Warrior Li and the owner himself, Duck King!"
The crowd starts to cheer as 'My Adidas' begins playing over the speakers. Coming out decked out in an black Adidas running suit and high tops is Duck. He has a giant gold chain around his neck and a fedora is work on his head, the large mass of hair is actually not gelled up tonight and instead is hanging down a bit past his shoulders. He pulls a microphone from his pocket and glances around at the patrons of the club. "Party people are you ready?" he asks with a grin and waits for the cheering to die down again.
"A'ight, then we got ourselves a good fight tonight. You know and love him, our first fighter tonight will be the big bad boxer himself, HeavyD!" More cheers and the like and Duck waits till they die down once again. "His opponent for the evening will be one of the terrors of Taiyo, the girl that needs to wear a longer skirt when kicking, Sakura!" Cue cheers and other sort of good stuff as the music grows louder and he awaits for the fighters to step up on the dancefloor and such.
Li-Li, of course, comes right on in along with Duck, and she's dressed as she usually is when working at the pond, oversized sweater with one end hanging over her shoulder, hair unbraided and bright pink, pulled in a ponytail, pink leggings and some helluva cool Reebok pumps. She.. Wasn't aiming to cosplay at anyone in particualar, she just used a twister spinner to throw the outfit togeather. "Sakura and Heavy D!?" she then cries to Duck, cupping her cheeks, "Wow, I'm not sure who will be the winner of this match-up, it's champion versus a veteran, Duck!"
Her cheeks turn a bright crimson as Duck mentions her distracting advantage during kicking attacks, but Sakura's present and accounted for just the same. She throws up a fist, though she's a bit more embarassed than usual as a direct result. Interestingly enough, she also matches the 80's theme -- if only by virtue of the fact that Japanese school uniforms haven't changed much in the past thirty years. Pulling her blue handguards snug, she looks around the Duck Pond with a healthy smile, pleased that her opponent is at least someone she's on friendly terms with. "It'll be a close fight, I'm sure of it!" shouts the schoolgirl, flashing a thumbs-up to Heavy D! In this fight, she's not really concerned as much with who wins!
Sakura strides out to the center of the ring shortly afterwards, rocking lightly from side to side in her anxiety.

It's good that D! isn't phased by such descriptions of his opponent. He is, however, phased by how unthemely he is for the room. No one told him he'd be stuck in an 80's themed fight. Oh well....looking across the other end of the dancing floor, the boxer gives a quick salute Sakura's way, smirking her way. "Good luck, there. And don't hold back." Maybe he should have went Rocky and came in sweats...but oh well. No time to worry about that, time to fight. With a lift of his arms, and a shift of his legs, he's set in his guard, peering across to his opponent. "Ready when you are."

"It looks like our fighters are ready boys and girls so me and El Radical Warrior Li better get ready as well." Duck stuffs the mic in place on a stand and scoots it between the two canons before making his way around to stand behind the one that is set higher. "You kids go ahead and start, step correct and stay on your toes, though." Looking over the canon he flips some switch behind it and it lights up and starts making whirling noises as it powers up and loads one of the baseballs made to look like tennisballs. "Somebody call my momma, I'm about to shoot somebody!" he cries out then grins widely.

Li-Li of course mimics Ducks actions, and her eyes widen at first when the whirling and humming starts up. She wasn't very experienced with firearms, real or toy, so this should be an interesting experience, "Righto, Duck!" she then cries back, "And currently the forecast is cloudy skies with a 45 percent chance of PAIN!" a slight pause, "Her line's ringing busy, Bossu!"

Eehhhhhh.... Sakura doesn't look particularly pleased about this turn of events, her eyes widening at the odd pitching apparatus. She's professional-grade, though! She can totally handle this -- and so her expression reads as it changes from anxiety into a more proud composure. Balling her hands into fists, she nods back to Duck. "Right, then!" She then turns to Duck, extending her left fist with a smile. "I won't! And you'd better not either!" And apparently, she holds true to that statement, for it's only a split second later that she surges into motion, dashing straight for D! and spinning around into a wide revolving kick. It starts at torso-level, but she gains altitude in the midst of her jump, announced with a cry of "SHUNPUUU-KYAKU!" Oh yeah, and Duck's proven right with his earlier skirt comment...

Tennisball shooters....well, D! takes it better than most, as he used to train his reflexes by dodging balls at a pitching cage. Still...that makes this much more than your usual straight out fight. "...this will be interesting," he says with a nervous glance of his eyes at the gun trained on him. Still, he manages to keep his focus. Which is good, as Sakura wastes no time attacking him. As the spinning kick comes, D! leans back, anticipating the blow and pulling his arms in enough to keep the rising kick from tagging his head. Stepping back from the hit on his arms, he plants his left foot hard, making sure he doesn't fall back further. His turn. With nothing more than a quick snort of air through his nostrils, the boxer snaps out a couple quick punches at Sakura with his right hand, trying to test her guard with the jabs.

As Sakura's still spinning from her kick, it should prove to be relatively easy for D! to land in a square attack. And it is -- for he socks her in the shoulder once, setting her up perfectly for the followup punch to the jaw that sends her reeling backwards. The punch was so fast she barely even -saw- it, let alone had time to react! It served as a nice wake-up call, at any rate. And it'll be an even nicer bruise in a little while.
Kasugano takes a few more steps back, apparently having forgotten about the cannons for a moment as she trains her coffee-colored eyes upon D!. Her hands move to her right, curling around a blossom of blue flame as she nods back. No going easy on him means no holding back on the fireballs! Her palms thrust forward, sending the meter-wide sphere of ouchy-ouch on its way towards the boxer with a cry of "HADOOOOUKEN!"
And thus things begin! Now that the fighters have had a chance to kick things off it seems that Duck is ready to get things started up on stage again. He moves the canon about to see how easily it swings before glancing in Xiangfei's direction. "Go for Sakura." His attention returns to operating his own canon and he tries to use the crosshairs to get a good bead on D!. "Let's see how this thing works, Booya!" HIs thumb slams down on the fire button and there is a *Shoomp* noise as the ball fires out of the canon and flies in the boxer's direction.

With the punches he lands, D! gets some room. Room enough to react properly to whatever attacks might come his way. This is good, as the sudden shound of a ball shot his way catches his ear. Just in time for D! to spot Sakura sending something else his way as well. "Damn," he mutters under his breath. What to do, what to do... It doesn't take him too long to decide which is the more pressing problem here. Twisting about, he lets the ball Duck shoots at him peg his shoulder, taking it high on his back as he winds up. ONce the Hadouken flies out, he snaps out a quick uppercut, the blast that results from the punch meeting the blue ball of energy and stopping it cold, both attacks disappating before any damage could be done. Looks like he felt the schoolgirl's attack was a bit more pressing than the baseball.
Li-Li watches eagerly, let it now be known that Xiangfei has a bit of an itchy triggerfinger. She wonders if there was supposed to be some sort of pattern or timing to the shots, because once she pulls the trigger, she probably isn't going to let go of it. "This thing is awesome," she murmurs to herself, and nods to Ducks instructions. Much to her disappointment, there's a bit of lag in her shot once she aims at Sakura pulls the trigger, "Hey! Mine is bro-" *shoom* "- Oh!"

Sakura was all set to follow that Hadouken up with something a bit meatier, but she has something else to worry about first. Good thing those machines come with built-in warning sounds! The Taiyo student whips sharply to her side as the ball comes in, though she doesn't actually turn her head to look -- that'd just put her face at risk. The Ansatsuken prodigy just raises her forearm to the side, her padded handguard meeting the ball and deflecting it to the side. The schoolgirl, naturally, gives a cocky smirk at that. "Hey, you could put an eye out with that!" And, just like an action movie star, she's got a bad joke to go with the move!
But really, the fight's against D!, and not the 'tennis' ball. "Guess they want us to hurry up, huh?" asks the schoolgirl, breaking once more into a run for Heavy D!. When she takes flight this time, though, it's to spin herself into a tight somersault, coming out of it with her legs splayed to either side, both hands coming down in chops at the boxer's shoulders. "HAAAA!"

...ok, no more flying baseballs right now. That's good. That gives D! the chance to focuse solely on Sakura. Especially as the schoolgirl flings herself at him full on. As she flips toward him, his guard comes up again, arms coming up to meet the hammerblows she sends down at him. "Nghh..." Rather than take an attack on her, however, he decides to hang back, and get a bit of more of a take on things. The change in circumstances makes it hard to simply take the all-out approach here. Time to figure out a strategy here.

Nassir has arrived.
As her chopping hands collide with D!'s guard, Sakura rebounds backwards, arms flailing to her sides in an attempt to regain balance. Scrambling for a moment, she realizes that D!'s not immediately pressing an attack -- which she then takes as an invitation to press the charge and keep the pressure on! Sneakers squealing as she sharply halts her backwards slide, Sakura dashes forward again -- though she's not going to bother jumping this time! Instead, she'll start what looks like the start of a Shou'ou Ken... only her fists don't normally -glow- during that. Indeed, as soon as her hand whips forward, it's just one palm extended with a basketball-sized surprise: "HADOUKEN!" She can be sneaky, at times!
Oh snap, Duck makes note to install one of these things on the roof of the Pond to fire at unsuspecting vandals and the like. He grins widely and gives the two other fighters time to fight without interruption. Afterall he wants to take his time and not inadvertantly knock one out with a shot to the head or something. After waiting a short time he takes aim on HeavyD and fires off another round aimed at the boxer's midsection.

Geez. Sakura's got a bit of an advantage here attacking just as the sadistic ringmasters here decide to shoot at them. Alas, while D! manages to take the baseball the same way he did last time against Duck's assault, he's woefully unable to meet Sakura's attack properly. Maybe he should have done a repeat of his last tactic. Taking the baseball on his back again, and the Hadouken to the chest, D! stumbles back, grunting painedly. "Nghh...." He's not going to let that problem stop him, however. Rushing forward, he takes a dash at Sakura, one hand reaching out for her shoulder to grab at it, the second tightened into a fist as it swings for a quick body blow toward Sakura's solar plexus.
Li-Li smacks the machine, wondering why it hasn't fired a second time already. Does it have to re-load? Is this thing run on windows? "Work!" she yells, pulling the trigger repeatedly until that satisfying humm and then *SHOOMP* commenses, the chinese terror giving a small sigh of satisfaction. Hmnn. She did aim at Sakura, right?

Once D! manages to land that first punch, more come in quick succession, hammering into Sakura's stomach fiercely. Not quite as hard as the initial punch, but enough to compound the pain. Finally, after one finishing punch, the boxer keeps his fist planted in her stomach, lifting her up by it and the grasp on her shoulder. Once she's up to about his shoulder level, he pulls his hands away and steps around her, switching sides with her as she falls to the ground.
Correction... Sakura -had- an advantage. Sure, she's able to react to the second volley from Xiangfei, knocking the ball away with her left hand this time instead of the right. "Not catchin' me this time either!" she shouts back. But apparently, she'd used up all her coolness points on that, since she'd left her shoulder wide open for D! in the meantime. "Guh!" Her spine ratchets back with each blow from the Metro City boxer's fist, the willowy schoolgirl obviously not built up to take quite as much abuse. It's not long before she's knocked into the air and dropped like a bad habit, though, drawing yet another pained expression from the schoolgirl just before she scrambles to her feet. Dashing to a fair distance, she turns back to HeavyD, glancing anxiously between him and the pitching machines. "Guh, man... you sure know how to treat a lady!" D! should know from his last fight with Sakura -- not to mention her experience -- that it's said in fun, though! She spends a few moments studying her opponent, though... taking the much-needed opportunity to catch her breath.

"On a fight, all's even, right?" Not that D!'d intentionally go for cheap blows against a woman like a certain other boxer might have been known to do...but then again, he has a thing against cheap blows in particular. "Anyways, it's not like you can't take it, right?" The boxer's knows the schoolgirl can take hits after all. She's taken enough from him before. In any case, he waits for her to try and come after him....however, when she doesn't, he decides he may as well take the initiative. Dashing in, he fades out of sight for a split-second before he reappears at Sakura's side, swinging a swift right hook into her collar bone. This is followed by a quick low hook meant to sweep her off her feet and drop her hard onto the dancing/fighting floor.

Sakura nods back pretty quickly. "Guess you could say that!" She's taken harder blows, surely, but it's not something she -enjoys-, per se. Though one could easily think so from how many blows she's taking in this fight -- and while she -does- make a notable effort to dive to her side as she sees D! approaching -- it just happens to be a case of zigging when she should have zagged. Consequently, she gets nailed in the collarbone, and then swept to the floor.
It's worth mentioning that the schoolgirl doesn't stay down for -long-, though... indeed, it's only a split second after her shoulders hit the floor that she tumbles into a heels-over-head roll, her skirt little more than a formality for the brief moment before her sneakers touch down onto the Duck Pond floor. Leaping into the air, she then attempts to sail over D's left shoulder, crouch there for a moment, and then spring off -again- with all her might to send -him- falling towards the dance floor. "'Scuse me, comin' through!" All the while, she keeps an eye on Xiangfei's trigger finger...
The crowd is starting to cheer as the fight is starting to get down and dirty. That or maybe they are just cheering because 'Safety Dance' just started to play over the speakers of the club. So far no bad incidents have happened with the fireing of the balls at least. A few have bounced towards the crowd, but the momentum was mostly gone so they were either caught or easily avoided aside from one of Xiangfei's bouncing off Sakura and pegging some drunk in the head and causing him to fall over. Good thing he will probably wake up thinking he just drank too much.
Seeming quite pleased by the crowd's reaction Duck raises a hand to pump his fist and get the cheers to grow louder before he looks towards Xiangfei and gives another nod. Yeup, it looks like it would be time for another volley of fire. Duck swings his canon around to take aim at D's backside while he is punching on Sakura and lets loose with the ball. *Shoomp!*

Again, the ball shoots out...and again, D! does little to try and avoid it. Looks like he's depending on his stockier build to simply absorb the shots the best he can. Even as the ball flies toward his rear quarters, the boxer is aware enough to crouch and again let it hit his shoulder, this time taking the blow on the opposite shoulder. As Sakura flies toward him and lands on him, he keeps his footing, letting those muscular shoulders cushion the kickoff. As soon as he feels Sakura's feet leave him, he turns around. A quick high hook punch snaps around as he spins, left fist flying to snap the jumping schoolgirl out of the air, hopefully.
That's right, Sakura.. EYE that trigger-happy Xiangfei, she will show no mercy in the pre-determined speeds of her attack. But it's just so.. Frustrating that it takes so long for the balls to load up again- Or maybe Duck was just smart in lagging her machine. Ducks nod of approval is unnoticed, she's too busy occasionally giving the machine a rattle, or staring at the dial for it to blink 'ready' again, "Grrr!!" *whrrrr- SHOOM* "...ooh, that's the stuff."

Okay, in hindsight... maybe that wasn't such a bright move on Sakura's part. On the one hand, she'd left herself a sitting duck for Xiangfei's cannon -- which is proven when the baseball beans her right in the shoulder just before she lands, sending her spinning out of control towards the boxer. On the other hand, it had directly telegraphed her intentions to D!, who was right there waiting for her with a hook punch. Kasugano tries to make the best of her one foot touching the ground, thrusting an uppercut back to meet him -- but as talented as the schoolgirl may be, she just can't do three things at once! Accordingly, she gets a knuckle sandwich to the face for her effort, sending her keister skidding across the floor for a good half-dozen feet.
At least... that's as far as she gets before she backflips to her feet, hands snapping to the ready as her skirt and headband struggle to keep up. Her face red, she shakes her fist back at Heavy D! "Don't worry, I've still got plenty more!"
Duck has dropped a connection.
Ah, so it's not quite over then. D! was afraid that Sakura might be down and out after that double blow. As Sakura gets up enthusiastically from her tumble, the boxer smiles. "Good thing, too. Because I'm not letting up!" he warns. Shuffling his way toward Sakura, he keeps his arms tight in, just in case she tries to sneak something out, ya know. Once he's within arm's range, he swings his left arm around in another hook. Or so it seems. Before the punch connects, however, he snap out his right hand with a blurring jab, a soft glow of energy around his quickly moving fists as he follows it up with a quick set of jabs, tight fast hooks, before finishing it off with a swift right straight.

The time for a Sakura sneak attack has long passed, though! Even though she's been taking hits like crazy, she's still not crazy enough to jump into the path of those fists. Diving off to the side, the slight schoolgirl tucks into a tumble, snapping out at Heavy D!'s side. By the time she rises to her feet, her hands are aglow with crackling electricity, spreading wide as the white-hot nucleus of a miniature sun forms between her palms. "Shinkuuuuu...." intones the schoolgirl as the orb spins faster and faster, drawing her headband in like a vacuum. It's only an instant later that the schoolgirl thrusts her palms forward, unleashing the meter-wide comet at Heavy D! with a cry of "HADOOOOUKEN!"
For a moment in time there Duck thought the fight was over. Sakura proves to have more stamina then than the club owner had though though and the fight commences. He is at least nice enough to have waited a short time before him and Xiangfei started firing again. Good thing the waitress hasn't realized her cannon is rigged to have a delay otherwise his poor club might be in shambles right about now. "Heads up!" he shouts out and the crowd cheers as another ball is fired from Duck's cannon and sails towards D!.

OK, that hurt. Even as D! manages to take the ball shot at him at a favorable place, the Hadouken is....taken in a less than favorable manner. "NGHH!" As soon as the massive blast impacts against Heavy, he's sent back right to the edge of the floor, a pained grunt heard from him as he hits the floor. "Nghh..." Slowly, he manages to get to his feet, hissing painedly as he rises from that hit. "Nice...looks like you still have a lot left in you," he says. However...D!'s got something else too. Seeing as he's all the way across from Sakura, he's not going to be able to rush at her without leaving himself woefully open. So...instead, he relies on his big long range attack.
Yes, THAT attack.
Right arm cocked back, he charges all the chi he can muster into it, glowing from the sleeve down as it's readied. "Here it goes..." He waits to see if Sakura tries to do anything evasive before he snaps out, hoping to keep track of her movements. After all, this sucker travels fast, but only in a straight line. Finally...he steps forward, twists at the waist, and drives out a massive, explosive punch, chi barreling out toward Sakura from his fist as he shouts "MAGNUM!"
Li-Li thought the fight had ended as well, granted she thought it was because of her awesome marksman skills. So when she gets back up, her eyes widen, "Woah!"
Kill it with fire! Or rather, with a 'tennisball'. So as soon as Sakuras back on her feet, she pulls the trigger again, and of course it doesn't fire. "......" So now she just keeps the trigger pressed, until another music-to-her-ears launch is delivered, "Fire in the hole!"

With her hands still a bright blue from that last Shinkuu Hadouken, Sakura seems to be warming up for a second volley! But first... well, Sakura had certainly -tried- to get the heck out of the way of D's rather linear attack. However, the sudden *P-SHOOMP* of Xiangfei's cannon startled her, causing Kasugano to jump right -into- the D. Magnum as a result, rather than away from it. Her sternum absorbs the bulk of the attack... but one thing was sure, her hands were still that ridiculously bright blue. And still crackling with electricity.
Congratulations, Heavy D! You've won the grand prize -- a Taiyo highschooler flying away from you and careening into the far wall! But wait, that's not all! You get another insanely bright fireball screaming your way, complete with a doppler-pitched cry of "HADOOOOOOOUKEN!" Aren't you just the luckiest man alive?

Well, it's probably good that Duck didn't decide to shoot off again. He'd be hardpressed to take two flying assaults again, especially after eating one of those big blasts already. Not to mention the downtime he needs to recover from his own Magnum. In any case, as the parting shot flies across the floor, D! decides not to be risky, and instead shore up against the assault. Arms rise up, his body compacting enough that when the large blue ball hits, he takes less damage than he would have otherwise. "Nghh...damn," he grunts, skidding back and almost falling off the edge of the dancing floor. "Remind me not to try and run into those things again."
Meanwhile, Sakura's flattened against a wall, slooooowly sliding down it. She's also a hair's breadth away from falling unconscious, as can be seen by the way she only puts out a token hand to slow her collapse to the floor, a drowsy-eyed half-smile expression flashed towards D. There's no chance of her getting up -this- time, and she nods to indicate that case. "Thanks for the fight..." she whispers, before keeling over into dreamland.
There is a bit of a hush for a moment to see if Sakura will be getting up again or not after those last few hits. Though now it does look like things are over with after the short wait and the crowd starts to applaud and cheer both fighters. Duck flips off his machine then quickly reaches over to turn off Li's canon before she shoots someone in the crowd or an already worn out D. "Remind me to not let you operate that while drinking." he tells the waitress then takes the microphone off the stand. "The winner for tonight, Heavy D!"
More cheering made as Duck turns off the mic and hops off the stage while pulling off his hat to snag the wad of bills that was resting on his head. Counting out about 1500 dollars from the wad he struts over to D and offers them to the boxer. "Always a pleasure. Expect a call sometime soon." Normally the loser wouldn't get squat, but given Sakura's performance he pulls out two hundred from the remaining wad and goes over to rest it on her forehead before putting the rest of his money under his hat. "You'll get em next time." he comments then waves security over to move her to a booth till she regains conciousness.

Li-Li pumps a fist in the air, "Booya!" she cries, as this time her shot connects.. Hmn, though then again it seems that Sakura did it on purpose. It's hard to say though. Will Sakura be getting back up? Perhaps just -one- more shot should be fired to make sure, and she trains the cannon on the fallen schoolgirl again, cackleing menacingly. *hummMMMMmmmm.....* "..... Huh? Awwww!" she whines to Duck, giving him bambi-eyes, "Boooossuuu!"
Looks like he wouldn't be hearing it though and she just sighs, slumping over the gun as she watches the prize money get handed out. this is a prime opportunity to calm down from her high.
