KOF 2005 - [R2] United Schools vs Vitriol

Description: United Schools and Vitriol face off in Austrailia. The constant swinging back and forth between these two teams that led to a down to the wire finish with the young Kyosuke managing to pull out the win for United Schools. (Winners: United Schools)

Ahh, the later afternoon inside of the Telstra Dome in Sydney, Austrailia where usually sporting events such as rugby are held. The fight would have been held in the outback, but due to the hot weather and the amount of people gathering an alternate location was selected. The place is packed with the center area set up with a seperate area for each team to enter from with a slightly raised area meant to serve as the arena. The announcer is already standing center ring as he lists off the fighters of each team and allows the fans time to applaud for their favorite fighters when they come out.
If she had the jitters the first fight in Howard Arena, the younger Kazama sibling is shaking badly as she hears the chants of the large crowd that is echoing through her teams entranceway. She had opted to go first this time around to test the waters and let both Kyosuke and Daigo have time to size up the competetion. She steps out with her head lowered some to avoid looking around at the capacity crowd and she raises a hand to wave to everyone. She stops once she steps onto the fighting area and lifts her head up enough to see who her opponent will be.

Australia, huh. Iori wasn't particularly a fan, but there's all kinda stuff he can do. Really, though... it's not his place to be out on the front lines. Not first. More his style to wait in the wings until he's needed -- and besides, Ramon has been itching for action. "Don't let us down, Ramon." comes the low rumble from Vitriol's team captain, as he takes his seat on the bench. Lacing his fingers behind his head, he lounges back against his seat, settling in for the fight.

Coming in alongside Iori and Ramon is none other than, well... obviously, their teammate. With her mood lifted by Ramon's release from the hospital and such a quick chance at getting down to the next fight of the tournament, Vanessa's spirits are high enough to warrant a broad grin. Without falter, the first thing out of her mouth as she comes alongside Iori is, "You know, it's funny? I've never been to Australia before. Kinda figured it'd be like this, but... shit, even though they're speaking English, it may as well be Swahili. Good -lord- do these people have thick accents."
Casting a glance towards the Luchadore, her sentiments are more... hopeful. "You'll do fine," is said with a smile. Ammending, "Girl looks tough but you've gone up against tougher."

On the United Schools side of the arena, Kyosuke Kagami follows Akira out of the tunnel, a few steps behind the younger Kazama sibling. In contrast to the girl, he seems rather relaxed, hands in pockets, long white coat flowing behind him. But then, of course, he doesn't need to fight first.

A look of sympathy flits across his face, as he notices Akira's distress. Hard not to, the way she's shaking. As he moves past her, taking his place on the sidelines, leaning against the wall, he gives Akira a faint smile. "Relax," Kyosuke says, with a nod, "you'll do fine. Relax. -Breathe-. We don't want you to have a heart attack -before- the match."

The Lucha Libre is rather confident, actually; He's stretching his arms overhead with a few casual grunts, arching his entire upper body to one side then the other in an attempt to fully loosen himself up before the fight. Forced to watch on the sidelines against what appeared to be the horrific death of Vitrium, now he can have an immediate hand within the fate of his team. Akira doesn't exactly look too menacing, but it would be enormously foolish to dare believe that it was so. She held her own against Terry. Ramon did the same -- so he's fairly confident of his chances now.
Beginning to walk towards the arena, Ramon catches the comment from Iori. "Or you will kill me, right?" He then laughs, but it's a bit too forced. He takes a moment to observe Vanessa far too intimately, arm crossed over his chest and hand scratching the mild blonde beard. "Like you?" is stated, one eye fluttering the lash seductively. "You should give me incentive, seniorita!" But then he merely grins, bolting into a jog towards the central arena proper.
He's got a large number of fans these days, having made his presence known outside just Mexico as something of a laughable-sport master. Arms pump into the air, before he does an elaborate sideways flip and lands in a deft crouch opposite Akira despite the fact he could of just /walked/ in. Raising in a flowing tension of muscles, he would almost appear menacing...
Well, until someone saw the broad smile across his face. He takes a couple steps forward, and then extends a hand towards Akira. "Lighten up, girl." is said softly, amiably. "Neither of us can lose if we have fun, no?" Hopping backwards and then skipping from side to side, he gestures towards Akira to make the first move in this ensemble while within a somewhat showy opening stance... One that's definitely purely reactive.

COMBATSYS: Ramon focuses on his next action.

Behind Kyosuke and Akira, the tallest of the United Schools team enters through the tunnel, chuckling at his sister's nervousness. It's understandable, yes, but it will fade away as the fighting starts. Of this, the elder Kazama has no doubt. "...Just focus on the opponent, Akira. You'll do fine. Show'em what we're made of."

Knowing her team mate is right, Akira tries to take a few breathes to calm herself. Big matches have always made her a bit nervous, but once she starts to fight she manages to calm down considerably. She manages a faint smile at Ramon when he speaks to her and she gives a faint nod while raising her hands. "Right...fun. I will do my best." she replies as she waits for the announcer to step away and give them the go. Once the word 'Fight' is given out the Kazama girl already breaking into a dead run to quickly close the distance between her and the luchador. She isn't quite sure how fast the fighter is, but his reflexes are going to be tested as he finds the girl leaping foward and aiming to drive her elbow right into his chest.

COMBATSYS: Ramon blocks Akira's Gate Elbow.

The Lucha Libre takes a couple wary steps backwards, and then lances out his forearm. He catches the beginning of the vicious elbow, and twisting his chest in a masterful manner he causes the assault to instead give him a minorly glancing blow as opposed to anything more painful. Now well within the distance this fighter prefers, first the Lucha Libre takes a couple steps backwards. This would allow Akira to get her footing back, but that is actually preferable given his present assault; As he then bursts into a run, arms pumping and head lowered.
It would look like a standard charge... Until the fact that he doesn't appear to be bursting out into anything else. It would almost look like he's trying to literally run into Akira and bowl the pair over -- until one foot raises with a grunt, and he attempts to press it hard against Akira's abdomen while tensing the right of his body. "Somersault...!"

COMBATSYS: Akira dodges Ramon's Somersault Kick.

But instead his foot finds nothing but air, and in an almost comical manner Ramon stumbles forward with his arms spinwheeling, trying not to collapse on his face from the overblown inertia. "Kiiayaaaah!" Then he does fall over with a grunt, but immediately turns over and kip-ups to his feet. Oops. He at least makes a comical enough face towards his team, scratching the back of his head. What a great start.

Turning around to face the stands, Vanessa gets up on the bench she's seated at to wave a vendor over, quickly snagging one of the beers from him for a quick exchange of coinage. She had some of her funds converted for just such an occasion. Sitting back down after the awkward manuevering, she takes a quick swig of the beverage before setting it beside her feet, her gaze trained on the two combatents. Whistling lightly at Ramon blocking the attempt, she waits for his response...
...-damn-.
"You're gonna have to do better than that if you want 'incentive,' Ace!" she shouts out at him, though he should know better than to be -too- distracted by her calling out by now. Likely, she'll have the good grace to be quiet for a little while after this initial outburst.

Allowing the young woman to regain her footing may not have been the best bet for the luchador, but then again one will live and learn by their mistakes. He is quick though, Akira will give him that. She shuffles back and she just looks a bit confused at the stumbling bit and is actually thinking he is trying to fake her out. That doesn't appear to be the case and when Ramon gets back up he will find that the Kazama girl is already closed in and reaching to grab him by the arm and if she can get a good enough grip she swings him around to send him to the ground.

COMBATSYS: Akira successfully hits Ramon with Aikido Flip.

Well, this was definitely not a joke in the slightest. The best hint of that is that he wasn't completely recovered from his little tumble before he's then grasped at. He does try to brace himself, but instead slides across the ground before being hurled head over heel. Having somewhat overcompensated in the evasion, he was less prepared for the untimely impact with the ground. There's an awful thud that resounds through the arena, and his wind is neatly knocked from his breath.
.oO( So Iori is going to kill me, and Vanessa's not going to kiss me. No, no, no! That won't do at all! )
Whirling around into a crouch, there's an odd look of determination on his features now as he then leaps into something of a diving assault, before abruptly turning it into a dropkick aimed at catching Akira right in the stomach. And if it does impact, it will only be the start...

COMBATSYS: Akira dodges Ramon's Rolling Sobat.

But this one as well strikes nothing but air. Ramon thuds on the ground once more, but this one is more purposeful; It takes less then a heartbeat for him to gather himself, although he is looking somewhat perplexed. Not concerned or doubtful; But what on earth is his best move of attack against someone who seems to be faster then he is?

All signs of being nervous seem to be gone and the younger Kazama sibling is trying to remain a step ahead of her opponent. She has a feeling making a wrong move with this guy is going to be trouble so keeping him on his toes is going to be how she will have to take him out. As he is getting back up she doesn't allow him much time to regain his footing. The strike is just a simple kick that swings out to try to catch the luchador right in the gut then use the force of the blow to push herself back and away to land in a crouch not too far from Ramon before standing back up in a readied stance.

Ramon's gut, meet Akira's foot. He's struck rather stoutly, not managing to skip backwards. Pushed further away by the end of it, he lets out an obvious wince before shaking his head as if disbelieving. This is /not/ going anywhere near as well as he wanted to. He's doing absolutely nothing; He hasn't even struck her once. A moment is actually cast backwards to look towards Iori and Vanessa, somewhat apologetic, before he adjusts his stance once more. This one appears to be defensive, and he definitely needs to shift his tactics to hold a chance...

COMBATSYS: Ramon focuses on his next action.

He is wanting a moment to collect himself? She does feel sort of bad about outperforming the other fighter for the time being, but she will let down her team if she ends up trying to be a fair sport. This is the big time now and loss will send the three high schoolers home packing. And with a big name like Iori on the other team Akira knows this fight is far from over. If he isn't going to attack she will continue her own assualt she rushes the luchador before skidding on her boots a good foot before a leg snaps out to clip him in the knee. She will then quickly snap that foot out again to land another shot to the gut before spinning on the heel to end the combo with a harsh roundhouse to Ramon's shoulder.

This is definitely much more impressive on Ramon's account, as he shifts his leg so the kick impacts the side of his calf; His right forearm deflects the majority of her deft kick before the final one is completely absorbed by a lowered shoulder. And then he bursts into his most aggressive onslaught of the fight thus far, popping any illusions of personal space within Akira's private little world. What does he do to take advantage of this? Both hands lance out, attempting to grasp Akira in something of an over-affectionate hug.

Ramon says, "Tiger Neck Chancery!!"

Those hands never quite get around the rather slippery opponent. In fact Akira doesn't even move out of the way and her own gloved hands grasp Ramon by the wrists. "Sorry about this..." she murmurs in reply before attempting to slam her foot into his gut again. She then releases his wrists and starts to spin about and assualt the luchador with several kicks before she ends by leaping upwards and twisting about roundhouse kick Ramon as her foot ignites with orange chi that archs about and swings about at his head.

Grasped by the wrists, there's at first a completely surprised look. But it does turn into a smile, and he beams in the same friendly manner as ever. "No hard feelings!" There's a heartbeat to get away after he's released; But it's not enough, and his attempt to duck under is met with a vicious impact in the side of his head. He stumbles with a hiss, collapsing upon the ground and trembling. There's a vicious sear across his cheek now. He's not even /grazed/ her. But that still doesn't mean he's near giving up. Still upon the ground, he then braces his position before hurling himself backwards. Spiraling along the floor like a drill, he tries to take Akira's feet out from beneath her with a wild cry. "TEIKYUU DROPKICK!"

What the hell!
-What the hell!!-
Casting a sidelong glance at Iori to gage -his- reaction, Vanessa is... well. She's having trouble comprehending exactly what's going on here. The sheer ferocity that Akira's showing is giving her little to no hope for the outcome, but she's not about to stop cheering him on, as opposed to asking him what the hell is wrong. "Christ, she's -destroying- him," she asides to the redhaired halfbreed, already on her feet as she watches the fray unfold.
"-Come on-!" she shouts at Ramon. "You can -do this-! You bested me without so much as a scratch!" Which... is exactly what Akira's doing to -him- now. Ouch.

After finishing her vicious strikes the young woman lands on the ground with one fluid motion only to find the luchador coming in to take her feet out from under her. Makes sense at least to attempt to knock the girl off balance. She is prepared though and as he comes sliding in she leaps straight up and twists about to flip and get even more air as the crowd is almost in awe at this one sided performance. Ramon soon can soon see the shadow of something overhead as the Kazama sibling has aimed herself to land right on top of him, aiming boots to slam into his chest and to drive him into the ground with her on top.

"I can do it..." Ramon mulls to himself thoughtfully, scratching his chin while merely standing there. He lurches to the side, eyes glazing as he can obviously barely observe what is going on. But then he appears to gain the confidence about that, clenching his fists and stretching them over his head. "Okay!" And as Akira does a move that is rather similar to what Ramon might inflict, he crouches down while curling his arm below. She does land on him, but he's knocked into a crouch instead of anything else.
And then in a burst of crimson chi, he unleashes a devestating right hook into the significantly younger fighter. "HAAAA!"
Quite dazed, Ramon then unleashes a torrentous burst of punches and kicks, a few spiraling roundhouses racking up to a neat sixteen total. He then finishes it off by shoving Akira backwards, stumbling back, and dropkicking her in the face with a shout of "EL DIABLO AMARILLO RAMON!"

It isn't spoken loudly, but Ramon can easily read the lips of the Kazama girl as she knows he got the upper hand this time when she lands. Those lips say 'Oh fu-' before he slams into her and begins his barrage. The girl actually stays upright up till the end, the last kick to the face knocks the girl flat on her back. Much to his disappointment she doesn't stay down despite that powerful assault. She kips back to her feet and with a rather focused look on her face she once again throws herself forward and throws her elbow out only this time to bust the luchador right in the chin. "Kyaaaah!"

Seeming to be in something of a peculiar mindset, Ramon merely skips backwards and grins once more towards Akira. He's a dead man standing, but that doesn't appear to herald that he will be any easier to take down. Vanessa didn't really give her incentive, but that one thing he was missing is here now; He has someone to fight for, doesn't he? Once more he bursts into a rather hellish charge, trying to turn the tides with sheer force. Something that is rarely an effective tactic, but he is well aware of the fact he is going down. Softening Akira up for Vanessa is his best bet at this stage. One foot raises, it probes for her abdomen...

And this time, the gamble pays off. Ramon then /whips/ his leg upwards, devestatingly striking Akira across the face with almost as much force as the massive combo inflicted a moment prior. It was at least done hard enough that he spins backwards, landing in a somewhat precarious crouch before thudding upon his rear on the ground. Well, this won't be condusive to getting out of the way, will it?

Daigo winces... Up to a couple hits ago, Akira was doing a wonderful job of taking her opponent apart. Ramon now appears to have gotten some breath back though, now beating on his sister with the same ferocity. To that, Daigo stands from where he had been back with Kyosuke, cups his hands to his mouth, and shouts out some encouragement. "Finish him off! Don't let him one-up you!"

Ramon's gambles are paying off more and more. Maybe that last attack has thrown off the girls game enough that he can get back some lost time and in fact soften the Kazama sibling for his two team mates. She has to stagger about on her feet, but manages to stay upright though she almost falls to one knee. Breathing a bit heavier than she has this entire fight the crowd is getting back into the fight as things start to seem to be more even. Now is the time to strike though, Ramon is on the ground and the Kazama attempts to keep him there as she pushes off her feet and swings both legs around to blow her boots into the luchador's head in a forward dropkick.

"The game's over now, si!" Ramon states in an overly triumphant manner, grinning wildly. He then kicks his feet backwards, rolling away from the assault with a fluid ease. He then braces his hand upon the ground, and hurls himself towards Akira in a rather overt showing of speed. He then flips through the air, descending directly towards Akira with far more intent upon winning then only a minute prior. He tries to grasp her by the stomach once more, shouting out his signature move. "Tiger Neck...!" He still likely won't win, but this is regardless one hell of a comearound.

And then he whirls Akira around, held from behind before she's suplexed into the ground with a devestating amount of force. "CHANCERY!!" He then kipups away once more, stumbling aside and turning to face Akira with a proud look on his face. "If nothing else I managed to ring your bell, no?"

"-Yeah-!" comes the resultant shout from the sidelines, Vanessa's voice showing her relief in seeing Ramon's comeback. "Keep it up, Ramon! You keep going like this and you'll drop her in no time!" At least, one can hope! The crowd is certainly eating it up-- from Ramon getting trounced to the Luchadore getting back on his feet in quite a noticable way.

Shocked at the turnaround? Yeah, that is a mild way to put Akira's reaction to all of this. Has that confidence from the beginning of the fight faded or has Ramon just finally decided to get serious about all of this? Well There is little she can do now but try to keep up her attacks. AFter she is slammed into the hard ground of the fighting area, Akira slowly gets up while only nodding to him. "Yeah....not bad. I guess I should tell you something about Gedo fighters..." she says then swings her leg to hit Ramon right between the legs with a forceful kick. And if it doesn't hit? At least he is going to be more hesitant at least. "We don't fight fair!"

[OOC] Ramon says, "Aw."

On the sidelines, Kyosuke raises an eyebrow. He blinks once, twice, three times, as if not entirely sure of what he just saw. Then, after assuring himself that, yes, Akira just -did- kick Ramon in the unmentionables, he winces. And clears his throat.
Without averting his gaze from the scene, Kyosuke whispers, sidealong, to Daigo:
"Your martial art is...very...ah...well, not exactly the sort of thing I'd sanction, but undoubtedly...effective."

And thusly, the final freight train assault of Ramon is ended by a rather casual kick to his crotch. He was not expecting this; Maybe he would of been able to continue on if the rather overt lack of manners were not continued. "Doesn't seem so..." is gasped out, face contorted in obvious agony. He looks to be mildly irritated, but not nearly as much as most people would be after something like that. "Well, okay. I..." And then he bursts into crimson chi, hurling himself backwards before striking out towards Akira with a blinding amount of speed. He then arches out his right forearm, attempting to catch Akira around the neck.

The hapless Gedo girl is yanked through the air, before Ramon leaps high overhead and then /slams/ her into the ground upon her back, every ounce of his force into this final blow. The energy whisks away, and he finishes his sentence. "...Give! Great fight, seniorita!" And then he begins to walk in a rather funny manner towards his team's entry point, face wrought in a grimace as he's trying -very- hard not to grasp himself in public.

Her timing never has returned since that initial hit and the luchador's comeback almost knocks the last of the Kazama girl's will to continue. He seems out for the time being at least and as she lays there on her back it takes a few moments for her to catch her breath. They are almost about ready to call a double KO when she finally starts to get back to her feet. At least now she gets a small break in the action before she finds out who her next opponent is. She manages to look over to both Daigo and Kyosuke and manages a weak smile and then stands up straight o face towards the other team.

".....oh, -damn-," Vanessa hisses out at Akira's... -interesting- choice of targets, readying herself for what's undoubtedly going to be her turn. She has no earthly idea as to whether or not she'll be able to soften up -two- opponents by the time it's Iori's turn to come bumrushing in... but by christ, she'll try. Tugging on either of her gloves to straighten them and, in this case, loosening her tie and draping it over the bench, the redhead is unwilling to have any loose ends the girl can take hold of and use as leverage.
The second he goes down after levelling the girl with his attack, Akira allowed a moment's rest, the boxer in the arena with no announcement whatsoever. In -fact-, the dead run that she's in could be called outright intimidating-- after all, there's little to no expression on her face.
Once within range, either of her fists lash out in a quick 1-2 motion, her breath leaving her in short gasps that correspond with the manuevering. The trajectory? None other than the girl's face-- a left hook, and an uppercut. The both of them aren't meant to be all that fierce-- the -intent- is to catch Akira off-guard and throw her off her feet.

Akira is definantly not going to move as fast as she was at the start of the fight. Those last few hits from Ramon managed to take alot out of her and when Vanessa moves in to quickly strike, Akira only manages to throw up her arms to take the two punches as the Kazama girl starts to stagger back as a orangish aura starts to gather around her. She isn't going to be able to take down this woman, but she is going to do her best to hurt Vanessa so Daigo and Kyosuke can finish her off or at least she hopes. She narrows her gaze on the other woman and she then yells out rather loudly as she releases that large amount of energy, an almost skull like look to it as it hurtles by and tries to run over the boxer.

Raising up either of her arms in order to let her arms take the brunt of that blow, Vanessa finds herself thrown back a good couple paces by this, the stumble that catches her off-balance disallowing any quick retaliation. The power behind that one isn't something she wants to face -again- by any means... and while she could just as easily strike back with something -hard-, she opts for something entirely different.
Rushing back in to close the distance between the two of them, she says, "Hope you're not fond of her teeth," winding up for what -looks- like an out and out -brutal- suckerpunch to the poor girl's mouth. But then? ...Then, she practically falls over, but with good reason. Unlike her usual manuevering, she lashes out her leg in an attempt to sweep the teenager's legs out from underneath her, a light grunt leaving her at the awkward positioning. If it goes off without a hitch, she'll be pleased.

A good amount of that energy was released and the aura is almost faded when Vanessa swings to hit Akira with that kick. The aura flares up again though while the Kazama sibling leaps upwards and twists about to hurtle another blast of energy downwards to knock the woman to the ground hopefully. She then twists about in the air and lands not too far away from the other fight in a crouch and her breathing seems to keep getting shorter by the moment. It looks like that blast might have been the last of her energy. She slowly pushes herself back up and raises her arms. "I got some fight still left in me."

Kyosuke's eyes narrow, as he angles his head forward, studying the results of Akira's attack with narrowed eyes. He felt a spark of disappointment when her first attempt at using that technique didn't quite land a solid hit. Now, though...
Leaning against the arena wall, Kyosuke smiles. It's a terribly predatory smile.
"If at first you don't succeed," he murmurs, out loud, "try, try, again."
Bringing his hands together, he applauds.

-Unlike- the half-spoken phrase Akira got out in lieu of Ramon's attack, Vanessa's able to belt out a full-on "Mother-fuck-!" as that forboding ball of ouch comes rushing towards her with a bit too much speed for her liking. Dodge, block, whatever-- she's not able to pull whatever it is she has planned off in time. Of course... with Iori at her back, there's that 'no pressure' thing again, especially as she's knocked immediately to her back. The singemarks on her dress shirt just make the impression all the more noticable.
Christ. Alfrigginmighty.
Raising back to her feet after a good couple moments, her speed isn't nearly what she wants it to be-- but that doesn't change her intentions. Closing the distance between the both of them with a bit less speed this time-- as, let's face it, hurling yourself at your opponent only to be knocked right back down is kinda humiliating-- she lashes out against the younger woman with another quick attack, similar to the one she levelled on her to begin with. A lash of bright energy follows both hook and uppercut, a significant amount of power put into it with the cutting slashes of amber that come behind each othem.

Backpeddling on her feet as that punch comes sailing in, Akira manages to stay right out of reach from the taller woman's reach. She is starting to feel a bit of a surge in energy right now as some of the fight starts to come back into her. That confident look comes back and Akira regains her footing before charging at Vanessa but inside of a straight forward strike she spins about on her foot in an attempt to get behind the boxer and grab her around the waist. She grunts some as she manages to pain she is feeling all over right now and attempts to heft Vanessa upwards and release her to toss her across the arena. If she manages to get this toss off successfully she spins about to face the boxer again and prepare for the oncoming retaliation.

Instead of fighting it, Vanessa... goes with it. Again, with good reason.
As her waist is grabbed and she's practically dragged into the air, she's quick to twist out of the hold, manuevering herself so that she's able to roll to the side once she hits the ground, getting immediately back to her feet. It's a damn good thing that Akira's back to being on the ready in this case-- because she's not being given a moment of leeway.
Rushing back in, the boxer's sprint ends with the slam of her right foot against the canvas, her fist coming up in a sharp uppercut meant for her opponent's jaw. While her anger is on the rise, she's -determined- to land a strike of some kind, even if, by the way things have been going, it's a stark gamble. All she can hope for is laying the girl out -soon-.

Apparently.
The only chance Vanessa sees of getting out of this is to just sit there and -take- it, or ... go for broke. Of course, 'going for broke' hasn't done anything but break -her-. When she lashes out, the redhead may as well be extending her hand to Akira as if to say 'Throw me, please. I've lost all will to live.' Because, well... that's about what it comes down to, given the fear she has about Iori's sentiments being heartfelt. Slammed against the ground and dizzied beyond belief, the boxer is forced to roll to her knees, but that's about as far as she gets at the immediate moment.
"-Shit-," she hisses out, to no one in particular. And then, a bit more cryptically, at a level that's only audible to Akira, "I hope they've got enough sense to thank you for this in the obituaries," the sneering tone of it still holding a hint of something indecipherable. "C'mon, girl," she says, getting slowly to her feet. "If we're gonna end this, we're gonna end it here and now."

She keeps spinning after the throw to come to a stop not too far from the other fighter. Once again her opponent is on the ropes, but what now? She knows she can't take too much more punishment, but she can't hesitate much longer if she wants to keep the boxer in check. She she nods at the red heads words and then smiles. "All right, here I come one final attack!" she calls out and she comes in again, feet moving quickly as she once again as she starts to throw kicks about to lash out and slam into Vanessa. Her foot once again glows bright with her orangish colored energy as she leaps up and attempts to slam her heel against Vanessa's head to end this. "Kyaaah!"

Skirting out of the way in a fashion that appears to be done with ease, the fact of the matter is, it's not. Vanessa can feel the energy whiff past her and into the ground as she takes another quick steps backwards, her breathing stilled for that single second as she gears up for her own attack. "Not quite what I was hoping for," she says dryly, her muscles tensing considerably. "But I'll make due."
With that, she kicks off of the ground to close the distance between them with... an incredible amount of speed put behind it. Whether or not it's true to form doesn't matter-- the fact that it's nigh-on impossible to see the footwork that'd land the blow is at least -nominally- impressed. Moreso if the right hook to the girl's face actually connects once she comes out of the rush, a sharp shout issuing from her throat in tandem with the hit-- connect or no.

Unlike when she hit Ramon with the move, Akira doesn't have time to recover from the dizzy effect it has on her and thus that fist plants hard across the Kazama sibling's jaw and a nice little bit of spittle mixed with blood streaks out and across the floor. The blow causes Akira to stagger a few steps and she falls to a knee while breathing heavily. She reaches up to wipe the blood from the corner of her lip. Yeah, she can't take another hit like that. Vanessa's able to, once again, deflect the most of the damage with a quick manuevering of her arms, her expression growing all the more darkened as she watches the younger woman in an oddly casual fashion. "Couldn't agree more," she says flatly, determined once again to throw out something that -will- bring the girl's remaining health to a screeching halt. Or... she can hope, anyway.
With their proximity dangerously close, she falls back on something that isn't quite so fancy. Not by a long shot.
Snapping a hand out to try and hold of the back of the girl's neck, she raises her fist to connect sharply with Akira's face again-- and should that work? Should it actually manage to connect without any issues, the hand that grasps the youth's nape is used to yank her away from the boxer in order to deliver -another- sharp punch in a sidelong trajectory across her jaw.
Head trauma is always worthwhile, after all.

And after that throw Akira manages to land on her feet before knees buckle and she leans forward to catch herself on her hands. She raises her hand to say she is finished then she manages to get the strength to stand up and slowly walk back towards her side looking to be able to make it to the bench and then fall onto it heavily. "Sorry guys. Couldn't get her for ya." she murmurs while closing her eyes. It looks like she is going to take a bit of a nap.

Another instance in which, in spite of the fact that she's taken hold of, Vanessa manages to... well.. kind of... flail to the point of catching hold of something on the way to her teammeats. It's like a cat over a linolium floor, really-- with the stunted momentum given by the boxer's unwillingness to budge, the floor comes before she hits one of her teammates, all four limbs braced against the ground before she falls to one knee at the end of the skid.
Mmf. Well. That was interesting.
Getting back to her feet as quickly as possible, the redhead makes her way back towards the center of the arena, her gaze falling on the other two opponents warily. Akira took entirely too much out of her, and that's not necessarily a good thing by any stretch. Breathing heavily, lips blooded by a clean slit along the inside from catching onto her teeth in the midst of one of those 'face? say hello to canvas' throws, she looks worse for wear, but that determination hasn't died in the least.

Moving swiftly, Kyosuke crosses over to his fallen team-mate's side, making sure she doesn't collapse completely off the bench. Running a practiced eye over her injuries, he also waves over one of the arena medics for good measure. Doesn't pay to be careless. But he's fairly sure she isn't too badly hurt.
Raising his head, Kyosuke catches Daigo's eye, communicating something, silently. Then he nods. Once.

Akira falls...but not before taking a good part of the other team with her. Daigo couldn't be more proud. The elder Kazama, however, has to avenge his sibling now. It's the honorable thing to do. Thus does Daigo Kazama of United Schools step up from the designated team area, sparing Kyosuke a single glance, returning his nod. "'suke. Help Aki. Time to finish this."

Insert an ominous cracking of knuckles here, as Daigo steps up to the arena proper. Having watched his sister fight... Having seen what this brawler can do... And with one more member waiting in the wings after Vanessa, Daigo decides to play this one a little defensively. His first move? The extension of one arm, palm out. The focusing of his chi. And the introduction of Vanessa to the only projectile Daigo knows. The Skull Aura. A dark force of energy that lances out like a spike of death...

Skirting out of the way of that blast, Vanessa is none-too-keen on being destroyed by another projectile, much less one that looks as creepy as -that- one. Offering up a relieved "Whew," in spite of herself as she manages to get out of the way, her eyes turn towards Daigo, sizing him up in a rather clinical fashion. "Always comes back to the Pink Floyd laser shows, doesn't it, sweetheart?" she says acerbically, before moving in to make her own attack.
No tricks, no feints. In this case she's making one hell of a gamble, but it's one worth making, in her mind. While she's still taking to a more defensive stance on this, she's not willing to hold back on this one-- unless, of course, he proves to be just as fast, if not faster than his sibling. So!
Edging in, there's a couple of feinted hooks that move towards Daigo in the same fashion she lashed out at Akira-- her intention from here on out is to catch him off-guard...

And there it is. A fierce, six-shot rain of blows to either side of Daigo's head, none of the appearing to be letting up anytime soon, the ferocity that's thrown into them making for quite a show of power. ...For a former housewife, anyway. Once the volley is complete and an uppercut is thrown at his jaw, Vanessa can't help but feel a -little- uneasy about the -lack- of motion she saw in the elder Kazama. Thusly... her defenses are once again raised, no words offered.

"Evasive manoeuvres," Kyosuke observes, as he lifts his eyes from Akira, long enough to get a good look at the fight. Raising a hand, he adjusts his glasses, and stares hard - studying the flow of Vanessa's movements. Those punches were powerful, yes, but somehow...not the same, as earlier. "Hm."
The corner of his lip quirks into a smile. Of course, he'd surmised as much, from the beating Akira gave her. He knows it. No doubt Daigo knows it too.

More important than simply knowing about Vanessa's fight with Akira...Daigo knows how to take a hit. Multiple hits, at that. The fact that they're all going to his head is a painful side-note, but one he can withstand nontheless. He's able to turn his head to keep his eyes and nose from getting too bloodied from the rapid-fire punching, though the last uppercut makes him look up...the response he gives is to immediately look down at the littler brawler-girl, and promptly throw his knee out, trying to catch her in the gut...

...a knee that will now be immediately followed with a little Gedo Welcomming action. This consists mainly of a few smacks of his own, a couple good punches to the chest, the picking up of Vanessa's body by the cuff of her suit, and the glaring of one eye. "Don't take this personally... I'm just finishing what Akira started. I'd stay down if I were you."

That said, Daigo almost casually tosses Vanessa aside like some kind of doll, then steps back and hunkers down to see if she listens to reason, or tries to bite his ankle or something.

Now with a bag of ice carefully placed, Ramon is wincing upon the bench while staring out towards the current fighters. The initial relief at Kyosuke not being the one who Vanessa fought against is lost as Daigo enters the court. Someone who is very far from an easy opponent by the largest stretches of the imagination. Desperate, he attempts to think up some manner of motivation for the hapless girl. Uh.
"If you don't win, I'm going to kiss you!!" Ramon shouts out as loud as he can.
Yeah, that will work.

Girl? Sha. As if.
Littler, yes. That's a definite. And while smaller can occasionally mean things like, say, being able to weasel out of attacks that are levelled on her, Vanessa doesn't manage it this time around. Therefor, that knee goes -straight- into her gut, causing her to double over immediately with a sharp, hacking cough, her lungs emptied of air and her stomach threatening to rebel immediately. It doesn't, thankfully-- even if it might be apropos to puke on the other brawler in the midst of this.
At least that'd throw him off.
Of course... the rest of it isn't all that jolly, either. Being cast aside with a casual flick of the man's wrist is just as embarrassing as the beat-down she took from his younger sister, her motions all the more dizzied by the fall she's taken. Alright. Okay.
She can do this. Getting to her knees as the youth closes the distance between them, she at least -looks- like she's showing defeat, though she bristles a little at Ramon's shout.
"...Okay," she says, gently, raising a little as if to get to her feet and stumble off. "--Alright. I'm in no mood to face the medstaff. Just..."
Here it comes. o/' If he's not apt enough to catch it, he'll find his arm taken hold of -swiftly-, the follow up line of, "...gimme a couple more seconds to think it over," preceeding what looks like a standard punch to the side of his head. Again.

The quick punch is immediately followed up by the redhead loosening her hold on the younger man, her other fist coming around to *SLAM* into his face as something else entirely begins to pick up around him. A wind, cutting and all-encompassing along his frame, forcing him backwards with each sweeping arc that it makes through the air. The power behind it is at least a good show of her abilities, even if it -was- a pretty low manuever on her part. That's assuming he -bought- it, as opposed to, you know, not being fast enough to move in the other direction.
"You're gonna have to be a -bit- more convincing than -that- to make me stay down, kiddo," she says lowly, once again maintaining a defensive posture.

By this time Daigo will have another fan on his side this evening. The younger Kazama is awake again and looking none too shabby. A few good bruises and bandages are on her now, but nothing that will keep her down for too long. For now she doesn't have much strength to do anything but watch. That woman is good and even though she might go down soon that still leaves Iori of all people. This fight is far from over so all Akira can do right now is silently wish her brother good luck and watch on.

Oof. That hurt, and that's all there is to it. After the machine-gun hits to the head, Daigo maybe wasn't quite ready to take one more, no matter how much of a brick wall he's pretending to be. He gets forced backwards handily enough, the damage amounting to a solidly bloodied nose, and a big fat lip. Maybe even a star or two. Ouch.

...But Daigo's taken worse. Much worse. He still stands, after it's all said and done, the elder Kazama shaking his head to clear the cobwebs from it, his body already moving back into the fight. A heavy step towards the defensively-crouched Vanessa, a twitch of his left shoulder, and then the attack itself. A lett swing, aimed for the body, his fist flaring up with a dose of his fiery aura mid-swing.

COMBATSYS: Vanessa endures Daigo's Phoenix Fist.

And there it is.
In spite of the fact that Vanessa should damn well get out of the friggin way in concerns to the hit that comes at her, she all but absorbs it when it barrels into her, seeing no other options but to take it without backing down. It hurts, yes. Hurts like -crazy-. But instead of waste valuable energy on doing anything else and potentially failing in a big way, well...
"...Maybe now I'll pay attention," she murmurs to him gently, a wry smirk coming over her face as she all but -launches- herself at the man, determined to drag him into another all-out offensive. If it doesn't land, well... chances are she'll cry-- or not-- but that'll be -after- she wakes up.

She doesn't see him raise his defenses. Frankly, she doesn't care.
The fierce volley that came before is nothing compared to the speed and exertion required for the unholy rain of attacks that try to break through the guard the elder Kazama puts up, the flurry of motion failing to let up until she's landed one final swing again... something. Whatever. She hit something, and that's about all that matters. The moment it comes to an end, she falls immediately onto her knees, and then, without fail, to her side. Given that last attack he hit her with, it's impossible -not- to outright pass out. That kind of damage isn't about to heal quickly.

Daigo manages to get his arms up in the way of that one, hunkering down to throw the left, then right arms out to absorb all that unfriendly damage, trained arms recoiling and soaking up the impacts. Daigo steps back from the last couple, getting ready to throw his own punch in retaliation when...well, Vanessa simply falls over of her own accord. "...Guess I was convincing enough that time." he notes, stepping around the body of the fallen brawler, and resuming his battle stance.

Time for a breather, Daigo. The main event is about to arrive.

Perhaps. But as Vanessa falls, Iori pushes out of his seat, a most displeased expression on his face. He doesn't say anything -- doesn't need to. The fact that two of his teammates are on the floor and two of his opponents are standing ought to be more than enough to explain the attitude. Well, that and Iori's normally unsunny disposition. Blame it on the chill from entering the Southern Hemisphere in the onset of winter, or what have you, but he's ten kinds of pissed, and the target of his ire's standing before him in the ring.

"Hmph." he notes to Vanessa as the medics assist her out of the ring. Cracking his knuckles as he strides towards Daigo, he simply states, with an irritable countenance, "Well played, Kazama." But he wastes no time in attacking -- for as his hands part, he has a bloom of purple flame within. A bloom which he suddenly chucks at the floor before Daigo, the roiling flames rushing towards the elder Kazama at high speed. "It ends now!"

Kyosuke smiles, grimly. To Akira, he murmurs, "That was gratifying, eh?"
Rising from his crouch by Akira's side, Kyosuke gives Daigo a nod and appreciative look. Then, he lets his eyes travel over to the other team's side of the arena. Kyosuke knows full well who's the last member, and captain, of the opposition.
Returning to his place against the arena's retaining wall, Kyosuke leans against the concrete surface, and folds his arms across his chest.
Having fought Kusanagi before, Kyosuke's fairly curious as to how Kyo's rival measures up, in person. "Of course, it's Yagami now. This," Kyosuke says, quietly, "will be interesting, hm?"

Daigo doesn't respond to Iori's comment about finishing things. He knows the danger his opponent represents. He's not about to get drawn into some sort of taunt-war, or power-trip. He has to play this right to make sure his team sees victory. For himself, and for Akira. It ends? The end is near for someone, alright...Daigo knows an attack is forthcoming. It would be foolish if there wasn't.

Nor is the Gedo boss denied. A rolling rush of purple flame appearing in his opponent's hand, and consuming the very ground towards him. Fast. Furious. Deadly... Daigo has known, since his fight with Chun-Li so long ago, that many chi-attacks have a weakness. A certain point that, when one does something as simple as thrust their hand out, the wave is interrupted and dissapated into harmless energy. Thus is what Daigo does now, everything around him seeming to move in slow motion for just a second as the wave approaches, eye narrowed... He thought he saw it, the wave rushing to greet him, even as Dai's hand punches out...the wave of purple fire splitting from the punch, and flowing around him harmlessly.

"...Hmph." is all Daigo grunts after that. His turn. There's no pretty waves of chi, nor any real special effects. Just a big man, charging his opponent, his left arm raised, though it's his right arm that's going to be flung out once he's within punching range, opening up his fight with Iori with the same move that took out his team-mate. A fist-full of orange Phoenix fiery chi.

There isn't a verbal reply from Akira at first. Instead her eyes are just wide and the sight of Iori entering the ring. He is one of the biggest names when it comes to this tournament afterall and she can't help but worry about her brother. Daigo helps ease her worry though when Iori's first attack is dealt with and the elder Kazama seems no worse for wear. This causes the younger sibling to leap to her feet and cup her hands around her mouth. "Show him who's boss, bro!" She then winces some and midly regrets trying to move so much when she is still feeling sore. She slumps back down on the bench while hugging her waist some and watching on. "Do you think he can win, Kyosuke?"

Men of few words. Though that's likely to change, once Daigo charges at the red-haired Orochi halfblood. His arms raised high to deflect the left arm, Yagami left himself open for the punch to rocket into his ribcage, buckling him for the moment before Iori staggers back to collect himself. "See we're going to have to play rough..." he says, a faint smirk coloring the frown that'd been on his face the past few minutes. But really, he starts off simply enough with an underhanded punch aimed at splitting the Gedo Boss' defense wide open. Though it stops being a punch, and more of an open-handed stab, with his talons poised to plunge into the Boss's side and perform an on-the-spot appendectomy. Yagami doesn't seem the type to have earned his PhD in anything other than Pain, though... "GURAAAAAAH!"

"In terms of absolute power," Kyosuke muses, "though such things are hard to quantify...Yagami is arguably more powerful than your brother."
Bringing a hand to his face, Kyosuke adjusts his glasses, once more, fingertips brushing over the silver frames. A gesture that speaks of habit, rather than necessity. A personal quirk, of sorts. A sign that he's thinking. "Yet...greater strength doesn't guarantee victory."
Kyosuke shrugs his shoulders, unfolding his hands and spreading them, palms open to the sky. "Certainly, he -can- win. We can only hope he does."

Daigo's all warmed up now though, between having his world rocked by Vanessa's dying throes, and his little burst of energy at the start of his next fight, Daigo's feeling rather energetic. Enough so that Iori's attack only manages to rake along Daigo's defensive arm, ripping through his coat and giving his arm some bloody streaks, but nothing he can't shrug off. "...Roughhousing is Gedo's specialty." Dai feels compelled to note, flexing his left arm again, this time in a quick jab, his right fist coming in right after to try and knock a star into Iori's vision.

Slowly but surely, Vanessa is starting to come to. While she doesn't require too much patching up-- or rather, doesn't exactly allow the medics to keep prodding at her once she's awake, the boxer is settled in next to Ramon after a while, her hand going up to her forehead to rub at it lightly. That... was humiliating. And undoubtedly, both she and the Luchadore are gonna catch hell for it later.
"This isn't gonna end well," she says blandly to the Mexican beside her, picking up the beer she'd purchased earlier and chugging down the entire thing with little effort. No use in staying sober if it's gonna go downhill from here, eh? Win or lose, the two of them are slated for at least a lot of shouting once this is over. "Your, uh... 'injury' doing okay?" is asked before she raises again, however unsteadily, calling up into the stands, "Someone get that goddamn beer vendor back down here!" ...Shouldn't she be paying attention to the fight? Maybe?

"Oye, I didn't expect that chica to be so fast. And even when I found out, that didn't make it any easier." Ramon states with a grunt, and he does look faintly worried as Iori continues the grand fight. The icebag at least has not been moved in the slightest, a faint edge of pain quite visible upon his features. "Oh, it could be better. Somehow doubt you'll play nurse right now even if I asked, huh?" This appears to genuinely be more about lightening up the situation then anything else. Ramon is at least in better shape; He was never actually knocked out, although knocked out of the fight? That much is absolutely undeniable. But he diverts his attention from Iori being punched, glancing around with a bit of exubrance. "Si, si! Second that!" Apparently alcohol is nice for him as well.

No, it won't end well -- for it seems that, as badly as Iori tore through Billy, the Gedo Boss is giving Iori a lot of trouble. His hand knocked aside, Iori's left open for the jab that follows, which jars him enough for the right hand to rocket through. "Kuh..." winces Iori as he's once more knocked backwards, staggering for balance. "Lucky me." he responds -- but by this time he's trying something a little more adventurous -- a little combo of his own. Starting off with a left cross to the elder Kazama's guard, he steps forward into a right uppercut, before hurling himself into the air, bringing both hands high and then -slamming- them down in a two-fisted axehandle for the Gedo Boss' shoulders. "GURAA! GURAA! GURAAAAAAOH!"

Wincing noticably at the hits Iori's taking, Vanessa turns away from the fray in time for the man to actually -land- a hit... but so far as she's concerned, the beer that's being offered is a better deal. Paying for immediate drinks, refills, and -then- some, she quietly hands one of the plastic cups over to Ramon, saying, "Just because I patched up those wounds on your chest, it doesn't make me your personal fluffer," her tone acerbic, but still lighthearted. "You, sir, are gonna have to walk that off the same way I did."
That said... down goes another beer, her attentions turned towards the fray again. "They're really good," she murmurs. "That girl was amazingly fast. I've never seen someone weasel out of so many of my attacks."

The first left cross, Daigo had no problems deflecting harmlessly off his meaty right arm. The second uppercut? More difficult, but Daigo manages to move his left arm up to prevent him from getting totally socked in the jaw.

That third axehandle smash? Daigo tries to be fast enough to block it, but both his shoulders feel the brunt of the entire weight of another, thrown down with extreme force. Daigo goes down to his knees, grunting in pain...and then again as his shoulders scream at him for bringing both arms up again, throwing both hands out towards Iori, and focusing. For the second time, Daigo unleashes the darker side of his chi, much more of it than before, great spikes of blackened energy lancing out from his palms to try and score points on his opponent's body, and hopefully knock the other fighter away for a second.

"I still think me being hit there trumps you being hit there." Ramon fakingly grumps, but not nearly as much as he might given there's now a glass of alcohol in his hand. He continues to watch the fight at hand, drinking from it with a slow and contentful manner as if he really did have no cares in the world. The ice bag is checked to see the progress of melting, before he turns his head to observe Vanessa with his good eye. "He's going to kill us, isn't he?" He doesn't sound nearly as worried about that as he should be.

"I'll just say I'm grateful I had pants on with the amount of force he put behind it," Vanessa replies dully, swilling her beer before throwing back the rest of her second cup. There's more to come, of course. She bought a slew of it, after all. Enough for both of them to put five of them under their belts. "...but yeah," she says, expression darkening somewhat. "He's gonna kill us. Personally, I say... if he gets knocked out, we get the hell out of here as quickly as possible."

Seeing Daigo being able to hold his own against Iori has Akira once again on her feet, though she is more careful not to strain her already sore muscles. So much for her being so nervous when this all began. Now she just seems to be one of the crowd as she raises her hands and bounces lightly on her feet. "That's the way to do it. Show him we are here for a reason bro!" Yeah, this side of the arena is much less somber than the other for sure at this point and time.

Well, that seemed to work -- Iori's knocked backwards once again by the concussive death's-head of chi, sending him sailing backwards, his legs giving way on impact as he collapses into a heap. It's been a loooong time since he's been knocked around this badly, but in a way, it's good for Yagami. Builds character.

Screw that noise. Iori's got a tournament to win, and he's not going to do so by sitting there counting sheep. Pushing himself back to his feet, Yagami nods back to Daigo. "Better," he notes -- what's he appraising, though? ... Well. Who knows? Because he just happens to notice Ramon and Vanessa talking junk back there in the peanut gallery. Pointing at them, he bares his teeth for a moment -- not a happy display. Snarling, he turns back to Daigo -- but it's all he can do to keep standing for one moment, ribcage heaving with each endured breath, as his crimson eyes lock onto Daigo. Whatever it is he's got planned is unlikely to be pretty.

As Iori scathingly points his finger at Ramon, the Lucha Libre beams a bright smile and waves back as if the Yagami had instead yelled the most amiable greeting possible at the pair. Still with a smile clenched on his face, he asides to Vanessa while swirling the alcohol in his hand. "You know, even if he wins, he's still going to kill us. What do you say we slip out right now?" He does get off the bench, although it's obviously a rather slow gesture given the present circumstances. He gestures for Vanessa, but is trying to be very subtle. Iori being disqualified to chase them screaming out of Australia would not be good for anyone's image.

Er, no.
"Give it a couple seconds," Vanessa murmurs, a bit more chilled by the look the both of them are given. "The next time Daigo lands an attack on him, we book. I don't care what happens-- I'm not gonna humiliated -and- killed in the same night." ...She offers a light chuckle, her eyes going over towards Akira and Kyosuke. "Wonder if they know just what all this cost us," she adds, then, her voice still soft enough that Ramon's the only one likely to hear it. Ah, well. Down goes another beer.

...Unfortunately, Daigo isn't the sort of person to let such things go easily. If he's not being attacked, that's because Iori is attempting to regroup, and THAT means Daigo has another chance to mess that up. Thus the Gedo Boss gets to his own feet, and since he's already so charged with the dark chi of Skull, his right hand thrusts out again, sending another sharp and painful stream towards the Yagami.

"Okay." Ramon states simply enough, and settles back on the stool. This lasts for about three seconds, before Daigo just totally hits Iori with like, a burning stream of stuff. He then stands back up, and attempts to yank Vanessa forcefully to her feet. "Okay, seniorita, let's get the hell out of here." He begins to waddle away, but then collapses upon the ground, ice sliding away. A Spanish curseword echoes far too loudly before he scrambles up, glancing over his shoulder with definite unease. "I don't think he heard that, do you?" Now openly grasping his cajoles, Ramon makes his hasty retreat towards the locker room exits.

...Great.
The moment Vanessa raises and makes like she's about to leave, Ramon's faltering just makes her wince. For the love of christ...
"Shut the -fuck up-," she hisses at him, following him closely while still looking over her shoulder. "...This may not be a good idea," she mutters, then. "He'll be more liable to chase us down if we make an exit like this." Beat. As they make their way out, there's the suggestion of, "There's this guy Heinlein I know that might be willing to help us out. Soon as we catch the next jet flight, I'll place the call..."

Yeah, pain... Iori... they go hand in hand. Unfortunately, he's more used to being on the dealing end of that pain. As it is, though, uh, no. This is just -not- going to work. And no, Ramon, he's too busy REELING IN PAIN to hear that, spinning towards the floor from yet another blast from the Gedo Boss. Once more, he's quick to rise though -- but this time, he's not quite aiming for Daigo. No -- as an orchid of flame sprouts from his palm, and is tossed towards Daigo's feet... well, nothing -seems- out of the ordinary. But when it reaches the general vicinity of the Gedo Boss, it will explode into a column of chi, surrounded by a sudden storm of lightning exploding in all directions, more likely to knock out the cameras than anything else. "FALL!!!!" he shouts, as it rockets forth.

"Listen, I'm all for being a good teammate. But did you see him point at us? Oye!" Ramon is newly quiet at least, even if his progress is markedly slowed. "I doubt he'll accept a manly hug and a better luck next time, no? I mean, if hugging Iori would get us out of this, I'd be all for it, but..." He then scratches the side of his head with a perplexed look. "Where am I going with that?" But he's at least fallen back to instead trailing Vanessa, glancing occasionally behind to see how far the battle has progressed.

Across the arena, Kyosuke blinks, catching a flash of motion out of the corner of his eye. Turning his head, he looks past the fight raging on the stadium floor, staring directly at the hastily retreating forms of Ramon and Vanessa.
Kyosuke furrows his brow. Leaning forward, pushing away from the wall, he taps Akira on the shoulder, then points towards the dynamic duo and their fabulous egress.
"They're in a hurry to leave. What do you make of that?"

Daigo saw the little bloom, and while he didn't know exactly that it was going to explode into great fiery death, he had a bad feeling about it. He was on guard. Ready for anything. Even explosions! The Gedo Boss, whipping his hands up as soon as the the great burst of chi erupts up, engulfing him. Rather than get caught in the middle of it all, Daigo rolls to the edge of the column, rolling to put out what flames caught on him, avoiding the brunt of the damage mostly through luck alone.

"...Sneaky..." is all Daigo comments on the move, his eye narrowing again. It's become a ranged battle? Hm. That's fine, Daigo's got enough chi to go around, proven by the way he keeps his left arm up in a defensive fashion, his other arm thrown out to keep Iori at bay. It's only too bad the only way he knows how to do that is with the dark spikes of Skull Aura he's got at his disposal.

The tap is enough to snap Akira out of her bout of cheering and shouting. Hey, she is already sore all over so why not go hoarse too while she is at it? Her attention is brought to the retreating luchador and boxer and she looks a bit confused as well. "I don't know. The fight isn't over yet and their captain is in this fight still." Then again they do seem to have their own reasons and the rather violent nature of Iori makes Akira glad she was taken out before having to fight the halfbreed. "You think the officials will stop them?"

"Still, I wonder..."

Yeah, and if it works, lean on it, right? Iori's apparently not doing too well with getting out of the way of these balls of death, as he gets nailed by yet another one. Hissing as the chi sears his skin, burning holes in the arms of his trenchcoat, Iori shakes it off, throwing his hands out to the side and howling. "GURAAAAAAAAAAH!" See, one of the most satisfying parts about being psychotic is just not CARING that people think you're psychotic. Iori leaps back into action! The Gedo Boss keeps his eye on Yagami, frowning... This seems almost too easy. There should be some sort of earth-shattering kaboom or something happening soon that's going to, like, rip him apart. He shouldn't be hitting this much! Not with these projectiles! And yet there they go, scoring hit after hit on the other fighter, each one draining a little bit from Daigo as they bolt out to belt Iori. It must have done a good job of ticking the opponent off..since it's not a projectile that comes Daigo's way, but Iori himself this time, launching at Daigo with a fistful of fire, and death in his eyes. Can Daigo block a full-body jump like that? Maybe...

...But the elder Kazama doesn't even try to step out of the way, or lift a hand to block. Instead, stepping into it, letting the hand smash into him, fire momentarily blinding his vision, and bright searing pain engulfing his senses... However this has brought Iori closer to him. Close enough, that he might perhaps be able to throw out a suckerpunch to catch the other fighter off-guard...

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Iori with Phoenix Fury.

                                 |==-----\-------\0            Daigo

A suckerpunch that totally hits. Through the blinding pain and agony that is Iori's attack powahs, Daigo sneaks in that lethal little punch...and explodes from his crouch into a further series of attacks. Punches, backhands, overhand smashes, uppercuts, roundhouse kicks, it's all in the lethal combo he unleashes, each attack laced with the fiery Phoenix chi he's known so well for. The last attack, that of a full-thrust punch, throwing his whole body into the motion to knock Iori backwards off his feet!

Iori's buffeted about by the onslaught of blows, his torso jacknifing from that final punch. Once more, he crumples onto the floor -- it should be a predictable pattern by now, yes? It'd be -nice- if something worked for him, but no... with the way he was caught in Daigo's web, there's no mercy here. His team members abandoned him, very few of his attacks have landed as planned... and yet, he gets up for what could be one last time. Snarling. Hissing. And maybe just frothing at the mouth a little bit, but that could just be one's own imagination playing tricks, since he's adopting the stance of a feral animal, canted over with his claws spread out to attack.

But when Iori finally surges into action, it's only with one vicious overhand slash, aimed at knocking Daigo backwards with a crippling blow. "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOH!"

COMBATSYS: Iori successfully hits Daigo with Ya Otome.
- Power hit! -

But that slash is just a prelude for many things left to come. Once that slash breaks through Daigo's defenses, Iori rams his shoulder into the Gedo boss to further destabilize him. Then jams his talons into the side, like he'd wanted to earlier but couldn't. Then punches him one, two, three times in the jaw before slamming his forehead for even more fun. Uppercut, a second uppercut, a knee to the groin -- but the kicker? He grabs Daigo's head, howling with rage as he then ignites a firestorm of purple rage between his two hands. "DIE!!!" he howls -- the word being his sole link to humanity at this point as his muscles tense up for a massive explosion of chi. What happens next? ... Up to Daigo, of course.

If there was any way to end a fight, that would be it.

Daigo crumples himself, after delivering that final blow, his head aching from all the pain that's been bestowed upon it between Vanessa and Iori's desire to cause brain damage. He used up a lot of energy doing that, and as a result, has none left to do so much as fall backwards when Iori leaps at him again, easily knocking what remains of his feeble defenses aside, and raising pure hell against him. Slashes, uppercuts, more slashing pain, a knee WHERE IT COUNTS, and purple flames erupting on his head cause Daigo to fly upwards, and crash back down into a big heap of Gedo Boss.

Ohhh, yeah, that stings...but Daigo...for what he's worth...seems to enjoy pain. Relying on every ounce of willpower he's got, smoking like a burnt carcass, the elder Kazama struggles to his feet, his one eye glaring through a veil of pain. "...Make me..." Defiant to the end, this one, but he can already feel his strength ebbing. He won't be able to lunge. He won't be able to do anything...but extend his hands, and focus, generating all the dark chi he's built up from so much pain being brought unto him, now being dished back out through open palms, Daigo hoping to score a final scarring deathblow to his opponent...before he falls flat on his face, with a cement pillow.

COMBATSYS: Daigo can no longer fight.

'Make me?' With all that Iori's been through in this fight, it's only fair that he prove the point. It might not be -death- per se, but knocking the boy out of the fight would run a close second. As for that Skull Aura coming towards him, Iori's just enraged enough to... actually craft a defense. A hard overhand slash from his hand, sheathed in purple flame, cleaves the aura in two, the dissipating wisps of aura lighting Iori's features in a cruel pallor. Scowling, he delivers a good sharp kick to Daigo before stepping aside, shaking his head. "You'll -wish- you were dead..." he notes... before turning his eye to the vacant bench upon which his teammates were seated. "TRAITORS!" he shouts, slamming one fist into the arena floor. "ALL OF YOU!" he howls with rage, scaring the medics away from coming into the ring.

Luckily, the mood fades just as quickly as it came, Iori stiffening his spine and rubbing his forehead. Still growling, he shakes his head once more. "NEXT!" And -then- the medics roll out...

COMBATSYS: Iori takes a breather.

Once the Gedo boss is downed there is a bit of a worried look on Akira's face. Well if anything Iori is certainly hurting so hopefully Kyosuke can finish what Daigo started. Right now though the younger Kazama is rather quicky to end up at her brother's side to help both keep him clear from the fighting that is about to continue and to also drag his heavy ass back to the bench since no one else is brave enough to step in at the moment to set him down and let him get tended to the medic team designated onto their side. "Good job...." she says quietly to her unconcious brother and turns to cheer on her other team mate and pray that he can finish this.

Daigo isn't going to be waking up anytime in the short, short future. Iori's rage did a good job of messing him up. He still manages to smile, through the non-puffy part of his face, at Akira's voice, at least. Aww, he heard her.

"And then," Kyosuke says, "there was one."

He shakes his head, at Iori's outburst. Then the white-clad student takes a breath, holding it for a few seconds. Finally, he lets it go, exhaling softly. Giving one final look at his teammates, Kyosuke favours them with a reassuring smile.

Then he steps forward, his footfalls soundless as he enters the ring. He ignores the sound of the crowd, the roar of spectators anticipating the final showdown.

Briefly, he considers saying something to Yagami. But, Kyosuke muses, with a frown, there's nothing he can -think- of that could possibly calm the man down.

Better just to end this quick, then.

Briefly, Kyosuke settles into his customary fighting stance, feet apart, arms raised, the back of his hands turned towards his opponent. Palms open. Fingers flexing gently.

It looks eeriely like Iori's own stance, actually. Except rather less feral, and slightly different in the set of his hands.

Kyosuke holds that stance for a moment. A single heartbeat.

And then, he calls the power.

His fingers, his right hand, forms into a rigid shining blade, striking at Yagami's upper body.

"GEN'EI!"

COMBATSYS: Iori dodges Kyosuke's Shadow Breaker.

"Hmph." A brief summation of Iori's mindset at the moment, and of his impression of Kyosuke's entrance. Which is to say, bluntly, that Iori is -not- impressed. Electricity, glowing flaming skulls of death... sure, Iori might -look- like a biker at times, but really, it's getting a bit old. And Iori's not ... -really- in the mood for it at the moment. So instead of standing around like a punching bag for Kyosuke's advance, Iori nimbly sidesteps away, his reflexes finally renewed after his near-defeat at the hands of Kazama. And once more... "Hmph."

But it's worth noting that he's also wrapped his hand around his torso at this stage. Not pressing an attack, but just trying to come to grips with his new condition. "..."

COMBATSYS: Iori takes a breather.

Behind the lenses of his glasses, Kyosuke's eyes narrow into slits. Yagami's fast. But then, he knew that.

As he breezes past Iori, Kyosuke swiftly compensates for the other fighter's evasion. The energy around his hand dissipates as his fingers touch the arena floor. Shifting his weight, Kyosuke slams his palm into the earth. Using his arm as a pivot, he swings himself into the air, feet flashing in a circle as his body swirls in a fluid three-hundred-and-sixty-degree arc. Turning in a massive wheel kick toward Iori's midsection.

Apparently, Iori's 'awake' now. For he doesn't make a half-assed attempt to block Kyosuke's rapid kick -- he thrusts one forearm in the way, knocking the foot away from his injured ribcage. "No more!" he roars -- before charging right back at the opening left by the Taiyo student. Rather than try for anything flaming, though -- he just lashes out with an diagonal palm strike aimed at knocking the boy over. "GURAAAAAH!"

COMBATSYS: Kyosuke endures Iori's Medium Punch.

The palm strike slams cleanly into Kyosuke's chest, with the resounding impact of flesh against flesh, bone against bone. It throws the younger fighter back, knocking him over, knocking him to the ground. But not, it seems, knocking him off balance.

"No more?" Kyosuke arches a brow, managing a quizzical look despite the stab of pain. "I concur."

He hits the ground in a sharp, tight roll, bleeding off the worst of the impact, and rising in a crouch. Exploding to his feet like a spring, he knifes a hand before Iori's face, fingers flashing past Yagami's visage.

The hand doesn't hit him, though. It's obvious, it falls short. Of course, it isn't -meant- to hit Iori. That, in itself, isn't the strike. It isn't the attack.

The line of azure energy forming in the air, sketching a line between Kyosuke's fingertips and the ground? The pillar of lightning blazing up from around their feet? -That's- the attack.

"RAIJIN!"

Yes, 'no more' was what he said. The context would only make sense in Iori's mind, though, which poses a bit of a problem for anyone listening. Not that it really -matters- though. Iori doesn't make any attempt to get out of the way of the blow, preferring to let Kyosuke come to -him-. In this particular case, Kyosuke's hand does exactly what the white-garbed boy wants of it -- right before it's knocked aside by a vicious downwards swipe of Iori's. The lightning still lances into the Orochi halfblood's side, but it's probably a bit late for that, since Iori's already rushing forward, reversing direction on that slash to slam the back of his fist into Kyosuke's right cheek. "GURAAAAAAH!" And, if the follow-through is correct, that'd be likely to send Kyosuke spinning to the floor.

And spinning to the floor he goes, the impact spilling Kyosuke cleanly towards the ground. A look of surprise registers on the student's face, his normally unflappable expression slipping. He wasn't expecting that. Wasn't expecting Iori, whom he'd -thought- was on the verge of defeat, to recover so quickly.

Life's full of surprises, isn't it?

But as he falls, Kyosuke snakes his legs out towards Iori. This fight's been fast, brutal, confined in close quarters. And Kyosuke isn't letting up yet. He attempts to lock his legs around Iori's body - before -twisting-, aiming to slam both of them painfully to the earth.

No, no, no. That's totally not going to work. Sure, Kyosuke might be able to snare Yagami, but he's not going to make it hurt nearly as badly as he seems to think, for the red-haired man thrusts out his forearms to absorb the impact from the fall, snapping himself out of the grapple maneuver and tumbling once, to his feet. It's only a split-second before he lashes right back at Kyosuke, wheeling a roundhouse kick at the Taiyo upperclassman's torso. "KUURAAH!"

COMBATSYS: Iori successfully hits Kyosuke with Medium Kick.

Breath hisses from Kyosuke's lungs, forcefully expelled by virtue of Yagami's heel driving into his midriff. The blow sends Kyosuke flying, throwing him completely airborne...for a second, at least, before he recovers his wits, a look of grim determination snapping down over his face. He's impressed by Yagami's resilience, genuinely so. But he -will- take his opponent down. He can't let himself believe otherwise. Once again, energy crackles around Kyosuke, flowing around his body, up his arms, sparking as he spins round in the air, demonstrating uncanny control over his own momentum. His arm lashes out, striking viper-quick. Iori's seen this move before.

Except the level of power, this time, is far greater. In the wake of Kyosuke's hand, a blazing lance of light erupts from the arena floor, stretching vertically towards the heavens...

Did you see that? Kyosuke's TOTALLY stealing Iori's thunder. Er, lightning. Cuz Iori totally did that earlier in the match. What a jerk!

Such thoughts are far from Iori's mind, though: he coils up to leap backwards to safety, but doesn't get to actually execute the escape before the lightning envelops him, animating his form like a marionette operated by an eight-year-old with ADD. Which is to say -- it looks painful, so it must be even moreso to Iori.

Spitting blood onto the floor as the electrical storm rides out, Iori collapses to one knee, laughing... not a pleasant laugh, but a low rumbling one. For, even though he's still crackling with residual electricity, he still has some command over his faculties -- and with that command, he rushes forward, aiming to catch Kyosuke's face in both hands. Howling with laughter, his hand is lit by an amethyst blaze -- one that'd likely become a gigantic inferno of purple flame, if it were to actually connect. "GURAAAA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAA!"

He doesn't look happy at all though, really.

As Iori charges towards him, the young fighter stands his ground. Unflinching, in the face of the furious assault. Making no apparent attempt to dodge, the raging blaze of balefire completely engulfs Kyosuke, obscuring the white-clad student from view.

And then, the light fades.

With Iori's hands...empty.

Kyosuke stands, a dozen feet away. Knees bent in a crouch, arms raised in front of his face, crossed in a block. Wisps of smoke rise from his lean form - but aside from the cosmetic damage, he looks singularly unhurt.

"Imawano...ryu...ninjitsu," Kyosuke whispers, in a soft, quiet voice.

Straightening, Kyosuke eyes Iori. Raising a hand, he adjusts his glasses - then slides his hands into his pockets. Clearly, his body language says, this match is over.

Pacing about the entire time during the two fighters had been squaring off, the younger Kazama had been pacing back and forth. She couldn't help put worry what might have happened with Kyosuke didn't manage to take down Iori given the violent moodswings the man was showing when taking on Daigo. A large breath is released when it seems that everything seems to be over. She would like to be jumping and all, but right now the soreness wouldn't allow it so she just claps her hands and hollars out cheers loudly while grinning. Yeah her and Daigo once again are going to be having a few days of sitting about, but it is all worth it in the end. They are moving on again and maybe they will get to stay an extra day or two in the land down under.

Daigo is still out cold. He would be cheering though, if he could.

As if Kyosuke's adjustment of his glasses was the final switch, Iori keels over to one side, utterly spent. A look of disbelief stains his features for the brief moment before his eyelids pull shut... but after that? Nothing.

Up in the stands, around the arena - the crowd goes -wild-, the cheering reaching ear-shattering volume. And above the noise, the stadium announcer's voice echoes: "WINNER! BY KNOCKOUT! UNITED SCHOOLS!"
