Master Championship - [R5] Terry vs Geese

Description: Once more, the Hungry Wolf faces down his father's murderer. However, Geese's isn't interested in deja vu (and besides, there's no tall towers to be thrown from), so he pulls Dan Hibiki to fight in his place. "ORAORAORAORAORAORA!" (Winner and Champion: Terry)

White Arena
Though the inner arena is the smaller of the two, the White Arena is no
less impressive than its brother the Red Arena, meant more for smaller, more
traditional fights. Spectator seating ranges around the oval fighting arena,
stretching up to top box seats which are built into the ceiling, giving those
that want to pay extra a rare bird's-eye view of the fighting. The lower
seating doesn't suffer though, the architecture carefully designed so that no
seat is too far away. (If you've ever been in an IMAX theater, this is much
the same.)

The fighting arena itself is completely bare of any obstacles or marking,
the floor sanded wood to resemble a dojo and to give fighters proper
traction. As Ken Masters is quite familiar with the power many fighters can
exhibit, the arena is separated from the seating with glass coated to reduce
glare, affording the spectators an excellent yet safe view. At the far ends
of the arena, doors which look like part of the wall when closed allow the
fighters to enter.

The finals. This is it. Several have fought through the rounds of the Masters
Tournament, and only two have made it to the last battle. Terry Bogard, and
Geese Howard.

Geese is already here. He's taking this seriously, crouched on the arena floor
in meditation. The crowd does not matter; this is almost a solemn, holy matter
to him as he breathes in...breathes out...focusing. It's a strong contrast to
the swaggering, arrogant man that was seen in most of the previous rounds.

Kyo leans up against the railing situated right in front of the glass barrier
designed to protect the crowd from the fighters. He watches both Geese and Terry
carefully, trying to judge which one has the upper-hand in strength before the
fight. "C'mon Bogard... don't make me regret what I did..." he mutters to
himself.

Rock's in the stands -- of /course/. Would he be anywhere else for this?
Fortunately, he's managed to wrangle one of the seats towards the very front,
not too far from the actual arena at all and close to many of the other
spectators. He is not, as some might suspect, cheering at the top of his lunges
for Terry to kick the everloving shit out of Geese. He seems more intense, than
anything else, on his feet and gripping the railing, practically leaning over it
entirely as he tries to get a better look at the fight to come. It's an
expression for the person who, as much as anyone, would have reason to cheer
Terry on; who else hates Geese and admires Terry more? And yet, he seems almost
apprehensive, if not downright conflicted, as he prepares for the fight.

Yes, the finals. Never before did 'second place' seem so worthless. As with all
fights between these two opponents, this one was guaranteed to be brutal. It was
hated enemy versus hated enemy. Both Geese and Terry had every reason to take
extra precautions during this match, considering the previous results. But for
some reason, this time... this time Terry felt very little personal reason for
fighting. No, this time Terry had to do it for his fans, his family, his
friends, and most importantly, his city.

Terry himself is standing in the ring on the opposite side of Geese. His
eyes are closed and determines, and very slowly his gloves. As if to show the
sign that he was ready not only to the crowd but to Jeff Bogard. Slowly, Terry
opens his eyes and glares at Geese. You can see the hatred in his eyes, the
honest, almost pure hatred. But he seems to be restraining himself quite well.
Slowly, he raises an arm forward and makes a 'come hither' gesture with his
fingers. He's almost taking a page out of Geese's book, here. "... Let's do
this."

COMBATSYS: Terry has started a fight here.
COMBATSYS: Geese has joined the fight here.

Geese rises from his meditation as Terry prepares. He opens his eyes, normalizes
his breathing, and....shakes his head. "Ridiculous. The bookers for this
tournament need to be shot." He's not at all preparing for a fight, hands
lowered and feet not positioned in their usual fighting stance. "This entire
tournament has been the same match over and over again. First my kid shows up
crying, then Athena goes around talking about love and justice...then that moron
with the sunglasses shows what a hypocrite he is."

Geese is BORED. "And what did I have to look forward to in the finals? Facing
one of the Bogard clowns, or someone who'd go 'Kusanagi flames this, Kusanagi
flames that' all the time." Geese points up at the crowd, way up in back, "I
didn't like those prospects, so I've arranged my own, much more suitable version
of the Finals. You! Get in here!"

Who was he pointing at? It's not certain, but Geese is now walking away...

COMBATSYS: Geese has left the fight here.

"...Dwah?" Near the back of stands, a pink-clad figure drops his popcorn.
"...Did he mean...?" Of course, Hibiki's life is not one of uncertainties, and
he decides he likes what he saw and heard. "YAHOOIE!" Like a -shot-, Dan's
racing for the service entrance, leaving hundreds of confused looks behind him.

Almost too fast to believe, Dan rolls out of the fighter's entrance to the arena
like a pink comet, happily shouting "ORAORAORAORAORAORA!"

As he nears the middle of the arena, Dan uncurls, leaping up into the air with a
fist thrust straight up. "YAHOO!" He lands solidly on the ground, both hands in
the air to wave to the crowd - HIS fans. "NEVER FEAR! SAIKYO IS HERE! I, DAN
HIBIKI, WILL SHOW YOU ALL WHAT -TRUE- MASTERY OF THE MARTIAL ARTS CAN DO!" He
bounces in place, looking more than excited to be here; after getting kicked out
of the tournament so early, he wasn't gonna pass up a chance to be in this
spectacular final fight against Terry Bogard, unorthodox though it is.

COMBATSYS: Dan has joined the fight here.

What.

The.

Fuck.

Rock actually freezes in place as these next events follow, one after the
other... culminating in the flashy arrival of Dan Hibiki. Surely, if someone has
a camera and can catch a snapshot of the look on Rock's face, they would be able
to capture the most incredulous, ridiculous expression has ever had. After an
instant, he recovers, and spits out the only words that come to mind: "...
D-Dan-sensei?!"

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

.. "... Great. Just absolutely great..." And Terry had spent so much time
preparing for what would be a life-or-death situation. "... Geese. GEESE!!"
Terry is absolutely furious now. He fought one of the best matches of his
life... to get to this? Not that he thought low of Dan. He admired his spirit.
But obviously, Terry wanted his match. No matter how impossible it seemed, no
matter how many times Terry shoved Geese off of the top of his skyscraper to his
almost certain doom, and no matter how much the actual fight meant for the good
of the world... he still wanted another match. Terry's expression lightens
slowly, and he even manages a grin, though his face is still red with anger. "So
that's what you want, you miserable old bastard? Fine then. But don't forget, no
matter how many small fries you throw at me, or new stupid schemes you come up
with, I'm still gonna find you. I'm still gonna hunt you down. A wolf will
-never- lose sight of his prey." Finally, his eyes shift to Dan. His expression
is serious, now, and despite previous reports of Dan's actual strength Terry is
still focused. "... Nothing personal." And with that, Terry is off! Shooting
forward towards Dan at a an unnatural speed, sliding forward to aim a kick
towards his shins, then immediately launches himself up, his foot straight
towards the Saikyo-ryuu warrior's chin!

COMBATSYS: Terry successfully hits Dan with Fire Kick.

Terry            0/-------/-----==|=====--\-------\0              Dan

Geese keeps going as Terry calls out to him, and laughs. "Better call Superman
then, because you're about to need to see through walls if you want to find me."
He doesn't care what happens to Dan. He outright expects Dan is going to get
thrashed, and he keeps going. Yes, this is probably a Forfeit Loss. Geese
doesn't look like he cares, as he opens the arena door and steps out. Terry vs.
Dan is definitely the replacement match.

"Hey, hey!" Dan waves at Terry, looking puzzled. "What're you doing yammering
about that loser! C'mon! Let's fight!"

And then Terry looks at Dan. "...Uh oh."

Dan tries to leap backward, but Terry's opener went far faster than he'd
anticipated. He gets nailed solidly, the kick crashing into his jaw and sending
him flying toward the ceiling. He's almost halfway back to the ground before he
wakes up, the front of his gi totally singed. It's a good thing Dan doesn't
-quite- realize he just earned all the wrath Terry had -been- directing at
Geese, but no matter. This was gonna be -just- like that Saturday Night Fight!
..Right?

As Dan falls back to the ground, he angles himself at Terry, his feet lashing
out three times in a row. "DAN DAN BOOT TO THE HEAD!"

COMBATSYS: Terry dodges Dan's Dankuu Kyaku.

Terry            0/-------/-----==|=====--\-------\0              Dan

Terry pivots his heel, finally resting back into his own fighting stance. And
responding to Dan's words? Terry... cracks a grin. Dan has an unrivaled spirit,
and that's a good thing. The fighting world needed more people like him. "'Spose
you're right, Hibiki. Let's do this." Though the rage directed at Geese is
faintly flickering in the back of his mind, Terry is concentrated on only the
fight right now. It's remarkable how he can do that kind of thing.

As the Saikyo-ryuu warrior flies as him? Terry's nonchalantly ducking back and
to the side, two kicks barely passing before his face. And as Dan delivers the
final kick Terry crouches down, before hurtling himself into the air
upside-down, spinning like a ceiling fan, and hopefully drilling Dan as he
recovers from his attack.

COMBATSYS: Dan endures Terry's Rising Tackle!

[  \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  /////////////                 ]
Terry            0/-------/---====|=======\=====--\1              Dan

Dan definitely doesn't recall Terry being this freakin' fast. Before he even
touches the ground, he gets caught right in the side by Terry's rising kick.
"OWOWOWOWOW!" Gritting his teeth against the pain...and it is QUITE
painful...Dan twists himself so the drill-kick is hitting right into his chest.

Dan draws his arms back, still fighting the attack before it carries him off
into the air...and drives his fists forward. A massive blue ball of chi erupts
from his hands, flying straight at Terry. In the nanoseconds that this move is
pulled off, Dan might either shove it in Terry's face, or it'll disappear into
the ether a few feet from Dan's hands as he goes flying clear across the arena.

COMBATSYS: Terry blocks Dan's Shinkuu Gadouken.

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  /////////////                 ]
Terry            0/-------/--=====|=====--\-------\0              Dan

The Legendary Wolf certainly wasn't expecting that. In fact, despite his years
of fighting he's never once seen that trick before. You gotta hand it to the guy
for being creative. The results, however, are not what Dan hoped nor are they
worst-case. Terry manages to right himself slightly, leaving him almost
horizontal in the air, and raise an arm to stop the blow from hitting him
full-force. It knocks him back in the air a few feet, and as he straightens
himself out and lands he slides a few feet back, his sneakers making an obvious
skreech on the arena floor. Despite the rather stinging sense of pain Terry is
feeling in his left arm, he moves towards Dan again. This time his right fist,
now engulfed in blue chi, propelling him forward. "BURN!!"

COMBATSYS: Terry successfully hits Dan with Burn Knuckle.

[     \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////                       ]
Terry            0/-------/=======|=======\==-----\1              Dan

Dan slams against the far wall of the arena, bouncing off the glass and landing
on the floor with a second bounce. "Ohhh, man, my head..." He staggers to his
feet, holding one hand to his temple, and looks up. To meet a faceful of blue
fire.

Dan didn't even stand a chance. He slams backward into the wall again, slumping
down. It looks like it's over - as the announcers would say, "I don't care WHO
you are, that's GOTTA hurt!"

..And yet it's not over. Dan stirs, blinking twice, then pushing himself to his
feet, staring blearily at Terry. "Pretty good moves, kid. You got better since
the last time we fought..." Dan takes a deep breath, bracing himself against the
wall. Remember what Gouken taught you...what DID Gouken teach you anyway? Never
mind, it doesn't matter. Dan settles into a ready stance before holding his hand
out to Terry, mimicking his 'come hither' gesture from before.

COMBATSYS: Dan focuses on his next action.

Terry            0/-------/=======|=======\==-----\1              Dan

The Hungry Wolf also appears to be taking a break, now. But he's not as much
focusing on the battle as... actually collecting his thoughts. The whole thing
was pretty bizarre. Like one of those stupid professional wrestling plots. But
this... this is blown way out of proportion. For the moment, Terry is just
standing. ... Standing and waiting for what's to come.

COMBATSYS: Terry gathers his will.

..Huh? No imminent doom? Dan was starting to expect that from this fight. He
blinks, peering at Terry...and glares. Slipping one arm out of his gi, he shakes
it at Terry. "C'mon, punk! Snap outta it! This is a fight, not naptime! If
you're gonna fight, fight properly or I'll put you on the floor! ORRRRRRAAAA!"

Without waiting for a response from Terry, Dan hops up, bracing himself against
the wall for just a second before he kicks off from it, flying at Terry. He
spins around in the air, delivering a powerful roundhouse kick.

COMBATSYS: Terry blocks Dan's Heavy Kick.

[      \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////                       ]
Terry            1/---====/=======|=======\==-----\1              Dan

And fortunately for Terry, Dan manages to snap him out of the whole thing. He
shakes his head a little, as if coming out of a trance. And just in time, too.
Terry quickly raises an arm to knock the blow away. Again, the pain rings
through his arm, though this time not as extensively. He still has the reflexes
to pound the ground under Dan with his free hand, sending a HUGE pillar of
yellow-orange chi sailing straight up into him as he's still in the air. Should
it hit? He'll pound the ground twice more, sending Geysers at different
distances to juggle Dan in the air.

COMBATSYS: Dan endures Terry's Power Geyser.

Terry            0/-------/----===|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2              Dan

See, now, Terry did the worst thing he possibly could. He infuriated Dan. Dan's
an easy-going guy. But dammit, fight! The last thing he wants is for anyone to
go easy. And so as he hangs in the air for that half a second, Dan is going to
continue his assault on Terry. And he's not going to let a little thing like a
massive wave of pure chi stand in his way.

Dan reaches out and grabs Terry's collar before the Geyser sweeps him away. The
raw force of the attack buffets him, but still Dan hangs on, even pulling
himself closer to Terry and the ground. "This...is...nothing...to Saikyo!" he
grunts out through gritted teeth. And his feet touch the floor as the Power
Geyser ends. Before Dan's body can react to just how much energy it was
overloaded with, he ducks down in front of Terry, drawing a fist in close to his
waist. "Kouuuryuuu...."

Dan springs forward, launching himself into the air, slamming his fist upward in
a powerful rising uppercut. "REKKA!" He's not finished, though; as he touches
down again, he jumps up, slamming his fist into the air a second time. With
luck, it'll take Terry with it.

COMBATSYS: Dan has reached second wind!

And indeed Terry takes it, though it's more amazing that Dan is even standing
than anything else. The force of the blow sends Terry upwards... but again
doesn't quite get strike him fully. He sure is working that arm of his, as he's
using it block riveting blow after riveting blow. The rising fists cause the
Wolf to flip backwards, but Terry lands on his feet. He's not known to be put
down like that, after all! He lowers his arms, and shakes them out a little
before he rushes in and grabs Dan by the gi as he's landing, then delivering a
jaw-splitting uppercut to hopefully put him down this time!

COMBATSYS: Terry successfully hits Dan with Grasping Upper.

Dan felt the uppercuts strike solidly. Excellent. No matter how tough Terry is,
he -felt- that. Had to. Dan straightens out to land on the ground, not even
really looking like he just ate a really pungent chi sandwich. He barely has
time to taunt, though, as Terry is right back in his face. "Ah! Hey!" is all he
has time to get out before the uppercut clobbers him solidly, sending him flying
straight up into the air once again. He doesn't provide much of an arc, coming
straight back down to land at a thud and in a heap at Terry's feet.

"Nnnghk..." Dan shifts his legs a bit. Good. Not dead. "I...I'm not leaving," he
coughs out, blood spattering the floor. "I'm not out of this! Not yet!"
Gathering his legs under him, Dan looks up at Terry with a brief flash of fire
in his eyes, his hair spilling over his shoulders -- the tie for his ponytail
must've fallen off somewhere down the line.

"KOURYUUUU!" ...Hey, it worked well before, didn't it? Dan pushes himself off
the ground in a mighty leap, displaying the never-ending will and strength of
Saikyo as he brings his righteousness-laden fist, knuckles bloodied with the
convictions of Saikyo's power, up towards Terry's face once again. "REKKA!" His
body must simply be carrying out the motions that he had trained into himself
for years on end, else how could this man, manhandled by the Hungry Wolf,
accomplish a second uppercut after the first? Where does this strength come
from?
Saikyo, of course.

COMBATSYS: Dan has reached third wind!
COMBATSYS: Terry dodges Dan's Kouryuu Rekka.

"Just because it worked once..." Terry remarks slowly... he's obviously catching
his breath. A  grimeymix of blood and sweat flows down his face, and Terry
observes Dan's movements... yeah, he's no psychic. But he can certainly tell
what's coming. But even so, Terry was impressed at how much drive this man had.
Whether it is individual or in the style... the training obviously shows for
something With his slowly depleting stamina, Terry shifts to the side at the
last moment, and tapping into what energy he had left he manages a yell that
fills the entire stadium. "DOESN'T MEAN IT'LL WORK AGAIN!!! POWER CHARGE!!" And
with that, Terry suddenly slams into the descending Dan with a powerful shoulder
check!

COMBATSYS: Dan endures Terry's Power Charge.

Dan lands hard on his feet, his legs nearly buckling out from under him. Only
air that time. Damn. Swaying slightly, he turns toward the sound of Terry's
voice, just in time to see the bum rush him.

Dan narrows his eyes. "You won't beat me!" With that, he -leaps- at Terry rather
than trying to avoid him. With a *WHAM*, Terry's shoulder connects solidly with
Dan's chest, elicity an "OOOF!" and another splatter of blood. But before Dan
can fly backard, his arms latch onto Terry's jacket. He pulls on Terry with all
his strength, trying to flip him around so Terry's 'in front', with the momentum
carrying them both into a wall with Terry sandwiched between. The question
is...does Dan have the strength to do that? Or can Terry just push him away?

COMBATSYS: Dan can no longer fight.
COMBATSYS: Dan has left the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Terry dodges Dan's Strong Throw.

.. Apparently not. It appears that Dan's efforts have failed, fortunately for
Terry. He really didn't know how much more the guy could take, nor how much more
he could deliver! He eventually slams Dan right into the wall, before inching
back, putting his hands on his knees, and gasping for air. "Hehehehe... That was
good. I guess I know how you put Saikyo in the history books." Terry seems
remarkably resolved, considering how he was so insulted earlier. In fact,
there's quite a bit of contempt still in him for Geese... but good fights just
seemed to make it disappear. He was actually thankful that his opponent was Dan.
Only he had the spirit that could keep him going in a fight. He turns away from
the regular wreck, and looks up into the crowd. He circles his gaze around for a
few moments, before he flashes everyone a wide smile. His gaze returns to Dan,
and he raises his battered arm to waggle a finger at the Saikyo-ryuu master,
before pumping his other arm into the air. "ALL RIGHT!!"

In the audience, a small group of kids begin to leap excitedly, chanting their
hero's name in chorus. And as if they were brainwashing the populace, the entire
crowd joins in. "TERRY! TERRY!"

Dan slams his back against the wall, the arena reverberating with the impact. As
Terry lets up, he slumps to the ground once more...and this time he doesn't get
up. That had been the straw that broke the camel's back, and with all the
punishment he'd taken, his body was shutting down for its own good. It'll
usually play along with the brain's madness, and even push itself into overdrive
to do so, but there's a point where the body just has to say "Look. Brain.
You're a good guy, but you're frickin' insane. I'm going home."

Dan looks up at Terry through the hair falling over his face, not really
recognizing the guy he'd just been fighting. With that, he slides over, his
shoulder hitting the ground.
Dan starts to snore.

COMBATSYS: Terry has ended the fight here.
