"LADIES AND GEE-ENTLEMEN! WELCOME TO THE VERY FIRST SATURDAY! NIGHT! FIGHT!"
Cheering erupts from the stands, the stadium noticeably filled with
spectators. It may only be the first night, but the event promised is one
few want to miss.
"WE'VE GOT A SPECIAL TREAT FOR OUR FIRST FIGHT, FIGHTING FANS! A TWO VERSUS
ONE MATCHUP, FEATURING THE MASTER OF SAIKYO MARTIAL ARTS, DAAAN HIBIKI!"
The pink-clad Hibiki rolls out onto the arena floor at his name, springing
up in the center and thrusting his arms into the air. "YAHOO!" This is what
Dan lives for.
"TEAMING UP WITH HIM IS THE MOST POPULAR POP STAR IN SOUTHTOWN AND THE
WORLD, AND A TALENTED FIGHTER IN HER OWN RIGHT! I'M VERY PLEASED TO
INTRODUCE ATHENA ASAMIIIIYA!"
Here cues Athena's entrance. The crowd gets even louder, most of them coming
specifically to see Athena.
"AND FINALLY, THEIR OPPONENT...THE FOUNDER AND OWNER OF HOWARD ENTERPRISES,
SOUTHTOWN'S LARGEST PHILANTHROPIST, AND MARTIAL ARTS MASTER! LADIES AND
GENTLEMEN, IT'S A SPECIAL HONOR TO INTRODUCE GEEEEEESE HOWAAAAARD!"
Here cues Geese, and the entire crowd is cheering excitedly. It's time for
Saturday Night Fight!
Athena walks in, waving to her fans; some of which have taken the time to
cosplay as her. Perhaps more disturbingly, there are a few in Kensou outfits
as well. As she reaches the center platform, she bows to the crowd, and then
eyes Dan with a faintly worried expression that she quickly hides before
swinging her arms wide and bowing to him as well. It's Athena's first
fighting appearance since the last Kay-oh-Eff, and so this has become a bit
of a bigger event than usual. Waving to the crowd, she calls back, "Thanks,
everyone! If I win, a song!", she calls out cheerfully.
Geese, philantrophist? Inwardly, he's laughing. Sure, he took care to
cultivate that image, but that many people buy it so deeply is incredible.
He marches out towards the arena, clad in his gi-shirt and hakama pants,
arms folded in front of him. He gets into the arena just as Athena finishes
encouraging the audience...and his expression darkens once she's done
speaking. "Looks like everyone wins tonight, then."
Dan basks in the rampant cheering of the crowd. It doesn't matter that only
a tiny fraction of it is actually for him. As long as it's directed at the
arena, he's happy.
After having his fill, he opens his eyes, turning to look at his temporary
teammate. He looks Athena over once, then scratches his head. "They didn't
tell me you'd be so young." He sounds as if he's never -heard- of Athena
before. After a second, he shrugs and bows back to Athena, beaming. "Well,
don't worry, Miss Athena, you're teamed up with the right person. I, Dan
Hibiki, will take every step to defend you and ensure your safety!" He
flexes a few times, showing off his muscles. "Tonight, we shall be
victorious!" He turns to Geese Howard as the man enters the ring, and points
a manly finger at him. "Geese Howard, prepare to lose in your very own
arena!" Drawing in his arm to make a fist close to his chest, tears stream
down his face. "Oyaji, this one's for you!"
With a snap of her fingers, a spin, and a touch of the ol' psycho power,
Athena's outfit changes from her school uniform into her fighting outfit.
She looks over to Geese, politely ignoring Dan as best as she can... in much
the same way she does to Kensou. She moves into her fighting stance, one arm
outstretched, the other close to her body to defend it... turning sideways
as she looks to Geese. "Don't take it too hard if we win, okay?", she says
with a warm smile. Of course, though Geese easily tips off the old 'evil'
sense, but she doesn't make a thing of it like some other justice fighters.
Geese just...stares at Dan. Then he recovers, and 'hmph's. "Looks like I'm
going to have to order a second one of those red spongy nose things...and
maybe some face-paint for you, too." He looks completely disinterested in
Dan, but Athena....Athena gets at least some degree of expression from him.
He doesn't say anything in response to her, but he does raise an eye. And
then he drops his hands by his sides, palms facing out towards Dan and
Athena. He's ready.

Dan finishes his remembrance of dear old dad just in time to catch Athena's
outfit change. He blinks once, then bobs his head appreciatively. "Nice
trick." Turning to Geese, he settles into his own fighting stance and
replies, "Only if said face-paint is for war markings!"
At that moment, because Dan is posing the announcer and gets to say when,
the announcer calls out, "READY? FIGHT!"
Dan wastes no time in opening the show. Kicking off the ground, he launches
himself into the air straight at Geese. Twisting so his feet are in front,
Dan kicks the air in front of him rapidly as he flies ahead of Athena. All
the while, he's shouting a Native American warcry heard only in the movies.
Dan is affected by nobdoy's taunts!
Athena then runs up to Geese, leaning far forward as she does so. Her speed
is amazing, and though she starts behind Dan, she easily catches up with him
to strike simultaneously. As she comes close, though, she slides down into a
swift and short kick, hoping to nail Geese low as Dan hits high... and then
quickly rises, adding in another swift kick with the opposite leg. A short
combo to try and keep the famed martial artist on the defensive, it seems.

Geese smirks as Dan and Athena charge, taking the time to roll his head
around a few times and otherwise 'loosen up', even though the fight has
already started. He ducks right under the flying Dan to let him sail on
past, and braces an arm down low to block Athena's first kick, and rises
back to a full stand to block her second one as well. "Waste of time...you
should tell that clown to go sit down, Athena." He reaches out to grab her
by the arm and midsection, and then fling her away, arms going into a
windmilling posture before crossing in an 'X' shape in front of him.

Dan doesn't feel the hard impact of foot on face like he expected. He rolls
with it, though--literally. He hits the ground, tumbling a couple of times
before coming up to face Geese. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to hit
defenseless girls?" he roars, catching Geese's attempt to fling Athena.
Apparently, he hadn't seen Athena's actual advance or attack. Pushing
himself off the ground, he leaps into the air again, this time executing a
more standard downward jump kick, aiming for between Geese's shoulderblades.

Athena is thrown, but there's a flicker of pink psycho power as she calls
out, "Teleporrrt!", and then reappears back on her feet, closer to where she
started. Seeing Dan's relentless assault, she's a bit too late to rush in
again... not that such seems like a smart option anyway. Thusly, she
focuses, gathering crackling, shimmering psycho energy between her hands,
before calling out loudly, "Psycho Shoot!", as she then launches the ball at
Geese. The force of the blast actually pushes her back, sending her back
slightly across the ring due to pure recoil.

Geese finds himself under attack from two sides. Dan from one end, Athena on
the other. This would be a pretty bad place for anyone to be, and Geese
takes care of it by running to meet Dan headlong as Athena teleports away.
"Trying to be Gallant, eh, Hibiki?" He catches Dan's jump-kick in an
iron-hard grip, "Too bad...you're more like Goofus." He then lets Dan go,
but cups his palms together and shoots out a thin blue chi ray. It doesn't
travel very far, but Dan's point-blank; it blasts him away with ease. And by
that time, Athena's energy ball is heading his way, but he makes a powerful
leap straight up, letting it shoot past him. He lands, smirk growing.
Dan stops this time, but not in the way he wanted. Before he can react, the
chi blast has slammed into him, sending him soaring backward to the far end
of the arena. On the upside, he gives him enough time to recover, so that he
manages to twist into landing in a kneel rather than on his back. He
grimaces, patting his chest, but gets to his feet smoothly enough. "You
think that can hurt Dan Hibiki?! Let me show you true pain!" Dan kicks off
once more, but this time not into a leap. Instead, he sprints at Geese, one
arm out and cocked.
It's not the usual straight-in hit, however--several feet away from Geese,
Dan changes velocity, dashing to the left. THEN he speeds straight for
Geese, fist cocked and ready to punch Geese good. "FEEL MY WRATH! ULTIMATE
DRAGON POWER HAMMER PUNCH!" As yet, Dan seems to have no indication anyone
else is actually fighting Geese. Athena seems to have been forgotten. What a
team, huh?
As Geese lands, Athena's there, deblurring. Her speed is striking to say the
least, and seems to certainly be essentially superhuman. She then quickly
lashes out with a number of quick palm strikes, leaning forward as she does
so. She doesn't seem to be overtly relying on her power tonight, apparently
turning on her kung fu for whatever reason. She's sadly, well aware that Dan
and her are an awful team, and it's only hurting them... but she hopes that
their combined enthusiasm can make up for their lack of proper tactics.

Geese once again settles in for a pincer attack. Splitting attention between
both Athena and Dan, he lets Dan's fist come in, and makes a shuffling
back-step away from it, though it looks quite fluid due to his hakama pants.
Athena's palm thrusts are met with evasion, counter-thrusts meeting them,
and arm blocking. She has enough force in her attacks to make them hurt a
little, but Geese looks fine. "Keep it up, Athena. I may have a proposal for
you after all this. But for now..." He makes an under-handed pitching
motion, swinging his hand high towards the sky with a call of "Reppuken!"
What comes out is not a projectile, but rather, just a crescent-wave of chi
energy aimed to 'cut' into Athena up close.

The force of Dan's power-packed punch carries his fist in a wide circle,
sending him spinning around comically. At least, that's what it starts out
looking like. Midway through, Dan seems to regain control, but continues to
spin around. As he completes the circle, his fist whips out again for
Geese--but this time, it's not a punch. Dan thrusts both hands forward,
hands gathering around them for an instant before a beefy ball of blue chi
blasts out. "Gadouken!" he shouts at nearly the same time Geese shouts
'Reppuken!'
Athena tries to deflect with her psycho energy, forming a pink shield... but
it's too late. The reppuken tears through her shield and hits her, sending
her flying backwards. She crumples halfway to the ground, breathing hard for
a moment. Rather than press her assault, she concentrates on getting back to
her stance, trying to rethink her strategy as Dan seemingly goes to play Don
Quixote once more.

Geese watches, satisfied, as Athena gets blown back. But Dan's persistent,
and Geese finally loses patience as the Gadouken comes in. He makes a
backwards leap from the all-too-close Dan, thrusting a palm down at him in
mid-air. With a call of "Shippuken!", a blue energy shot of his own
materializes, slamming through Dan's Gadouken, and losing some of its mass.
What Dan does with the rest of the Shippuken's energy is his current crisis.
Geese lands once more, looking to see if Athena's gathered herself yet...

Woah! Dan wasn't -quite- expecting Geese to actually attack him. That means
Dan's starting to break through his defenses! Yippee! ...But first, the
matter of the blast of death shooting at him. He throws up his arms to guard
his face, but the Shippuken is just too fast, and it sends him skidding back
and tumbling along the floor. "Okay, that...that stung a little," he grunts
as he pushes himself up, wincing.
He's nowhere near out of the fight yet, though. As he gets to his feet, Dan
rolls his shoulders once each. He pulls his arms out of the gi, letting the
top half fall to around his waist and leaving his torso covered only by his
black undershirt. "Looks like you're finally warmed up, Geese!" he chortles,
hands on his hips. "Now we can fight for real! Athena, let's take this chump
out! YOUSH!" Victory sign!

Athena smiles, and then walks over to Dan. Time for some actual teamwork,
folks! Look fast, because you may not see it otherwise. Standing behind him,
she smiles, and then closes her eyes. Pink energy surrounds her, and then as
she puts her palm to Dan's shoulder, the glow goes from him to her. Some of
the bruises he's taken seem to fade, and the energy obviously rejuvenates
him. The power of Pink! Giving him a salute, she calls out, "Go for it,
Hibiki-san!"

Geese watches as neither Dan nor Athena press an attack on him. Dan gets a
'what the hell are you doing?' stare, then...Athena runs to his side and
restores him, quite significantly. This causes Geese to laugh, long and
hard. "Quite impressive...but all that effort for him?" He runs towards the
pair, confident smirk still there. Taking a page from Darth Vader's
playbook, he thrusts an open hand at Athena's neck, trying to raise her off
the ground, then with a 'hmph!', slam her to the arena floor, one-handed.

Dan looks up in surprise as Athena appears by his side, and nearly yelps as
she heals up. He looks immensely surprised for a moment, then beams at
Athena. "I will do so, Miss Athena!" As he hears Geese coming for them, he
leaps aside, plainly expecting the attack to come for him..but not so much.
Dan glares at the sight of Geese trying to manhandle Athena, and a pink aura
begins to emanate from him ever so slightly. It's just chi, but if one were
to ask, he would tell you it's his Taunting Aura.
"GEESE! Here's a little surprise I've been practicing for the last week! I
got the idea from your son, Rock! You can thank him for showing me how to
beat your hakama behind!" He grins toothily, holding both arms at his sides,
hands curled into fists. With a yell, he dives at Geese, throwing his right
fist at the man when he's in range. Once again, a Gadouken springs forth,
the short-lived projectile rushing at Geese...but Dan's not done. He throws
his left fist forward, and a -second- Gadouken shoots forth, coming up just
behind the first. "DOUBLE GADOUKEN!" Dan roars.
Athena rises with the attack, but then suddenly there's a sudden flash of
force as Athena pushes down with her arms and her hair flies up, an
invisible telekinetic 'push' seperating the two fighters as the superstar
drops back to her feet. "We may not know each other well, but tonight, we're
a team!", she says with her irrepressible exuberance as she looks over to
Geese. She then hops at him parallel to Dan's strike, lashing out with a
knee, and it seems like she's going into her trademark double kick - the
Renkentai - but before she does so, she suddenly interrupts her move,
tucking in curling into midair. In an instant, she's covered in pink psycho
energy as she rolls at Geese, and ends the move with a kick from the ground,
supporting herself with a single hand. "Phoenix... Arrow!"

Geese sharply laughs at Dan, "I'd be surprised if you learned how to get out
of a wet paper bag, regardless of the teacher!" He leaps up as Dan's hand
goes forward, sailing clear over the Shinkuu Gadouken...and right into
Athena's rolling form in mid-air. This knocks him down to the ground, flat
on his back, and he gets to his knee, shaking a fist. That hurt, but he has
plenty left in him. Springing at Athena, he makes several palm-thrusts at
her, alternating from left hand to right hand like a pair of pistons
attempting to smash her in the face.

Dan grits his teeth as his Gadoukens disappear without striking Geese yet
again. It's never enough to make him lose morale, though. As Geese once
again focuses on Athena, Dan dives to the ground, snapping out a leg to try
and catch Geese in a swift sweep. He said he would defend Athena, and even
if she's doing more in the fight than Dan is, by god he's going to do what
he can.
Athena hops back twice, slipping away from Geese's powerful palms. "Our fans
make us strong!", she retorts, and then ducks low. Well, Dan's belief in
fans makes him strong, which is almost the same thing, right? Reading Dan's
fighting intent, she then drops low to the ground as well, lashing out with
sweep using both legs and supporting herself with her hands - hoping her and
her partner can scissor the Hakyokusaken master.

Geese keeps a stiff stance. Dan's sweep connects, and it does hurt, but his
balance is stiff enough that he stays on his feet without much more than
budging an inch or two. "Your fans make you strong? What is this, an after
school magical girl special?" He scoops Athena up by her extended legs,
raising her up high, then smashing her down into the arena floor. "I thought
I was going to get a fight, not a mountain of bluster and wishful thinking."
..Ow, dammit! Kicking someone shouldn't hurt! Dan pulls leg back, tucking
it under him. "Maybe if you'd stop beating up on her and come after me,
you'd get one!" he retorts. From his squatting position, he pushes off,
launching himself into the air and toward Geese. "KOURYUKEN!" He snaps a
fist out, aiming the uppercut to catch Geese. Anything to make the punk stop
whaling on Athena.
Athena is caught, twisted, and spins around once before hitting the ground,
crying out as she impacts and managing an 'Ow', afterwards. She then rolls
back, getting to her feet, and spreads her arms a bit as the pink glow
returns. Apparently, she's focusing on getting herself back together, as she
knows Dan's going most likely going to go headlong after Geese once more as
yet another would-be white knight. The aura seems to brighten her, and she
adds, "Give it a rest, grand-pa!", in a sing-song voice.

Geese glares at Dan. "Get real! I should ask someone from the," He sidesteps
Dan's rising uppercut in mid-sentence, "concession booth to take you on! It
might be an more even battle!" Then he looks on as Athena mends herself.
"Just prolonging things, hon..." Geese tries to reach through her energy
field and scoop Athena into his arms. Aww. ...And from there he's intent on
executing a simple bodyslam, once again trying to make her one with the
arena.

Even against Billy, Dan was able to get some hits in. This is just
ridiculous. His mad assault on Geese continues unabated, trying as hard as
he can to distract Geese from pummeling Athena. So far he hasn't been doing
a great job, but his luck's gotta change sometime. As he starts to fall from
the uppercut, he snaps out a kick at the back of Geese's head. "Don't
underestimate me! You'll regret crossing Dan Hibiki!"
Athena once again turns what would be a face-pounding, head-hurting throw
into a mere technical throw, clenching her fists as another telekinetic
burst knocks her and Geese apart. She smiles, and gives Geese the
two-fingered salute, "Don't underestimate me, Mr. Howard!" The salute then
quickly slides into a quick slap, as she tries to execute a blindingly fast
strike at Geese's face, hoping he'll be worried enough about her that Dan
actually might get the proverbial boot to the head.

Geese turns around to Dan as his kick goes out, and makes a sweeping outward
block to send the attack off to the side. "Go get me a pretzel already,
Hibiki. This is getting old." And then raises his other arm to block
Athena's little slap. It's fast enough to sting his arm at least, even if it
isn't a grevious injury. Then he balls his fist back, and sends a smooth,
straight punch at Athena's chest. "On the contrary. I don't underestimate
you at all. Your warbling about the fans is a waste of time, but I find you
/quite/ interesting..."

"Maybe it's old to you, but I will continue to fight as long as I have
breath in my body!" Dan lands on one foot, the redirection of his kick only
slightly affecting him. He gets up, and in something of an exasperated
gesture, tries to grab Geese's shoulders from behind and fling him over his
shoulder. Probably not the best thing to do to Geese, but all of Dan's other
attacks have failed so far. He'll just keep trying until he finds one that
works, dammit.
Athena leans to the side, avoiding Geese's blow, and it connects with
nothing but strands of purple hair. She says, "Sorry, but if you don't
understand that..." She then reaches out which her palms, but doesn't
actually seem to be moving with the force of a strike. It's more like a soft
motion reminiscent of Tai Chi, as she tries to enchance Dan's throw into
something a lot more impressive... though the telekinetic might of psycho
power. "... ya!... you won't be able to understand my power!"

Geese gets caught by Dan finally, and tossed. Not that it does much -- he
rolls along the ground with only a rough landing to show for Dan's trouble.
But it does let Athena get in close, and when her TK starts to send him up
into the air...he reaches out and grabs Athena's neck as he goes. What
happens next is 'mutually assured destruction.' Geese is falling, but so is
Athena. He hits the arena floor hard, but also plows Athena into it before
letting go of her throat. Geese only rises to his knees after this, though
it looks intentional. The smirk he's had for most of this battle is finally
gone, though.
Dan winces. No matter what he does, Geese still isn't giving up on Athena.
Charging in blindly is obviously not going to win this fight...and yes, it's
taken Dan this long to realize it. He sidesteps around the two, taking his
time before moving in. This has the added hopeful benefit of confusing Geese
by switching up tactics. Kneading his hands into fists, Dan mutters, "Oayji,
lend me your strength and help me...us..win this fight." Of course, for Dan,
a mutter is as good as somebody else's normal speaking voice.
COMBATSYS: Dan focuses on his next action.
"Ittai...", Athena mumbles as then slides to her feet. She is getting pretty
spent for energy, and Geese is more formidable than even she expected.
Hopping into the air very briefly, she spins her leg out in a spin kick,
hoping that she can overcome Geese's powerful counters through sheer force
and speed.

Geese brings his arms up to shield himself from Athena's spinkick, boot
planting into his forearms and even skidding him back a little. He finishes
standing up, and notices Dan...doing something. He wants to make Dan shut up
about his father already, but Athena's closer. And so Geese snaps a kick at
her midsection, then swings that foot up at her face as a dual-kick
maneuver.

Dan's head snaps up, and he gets a little eye shimmer. The air about him
seems to sparkle with his aura, his fist shaking slightly. "This has gone on
long enough! Geese Howard, your time is up!" He just never tires of those
mini-speeches. He leaps into the air once more, launching himself high, high
above the arena floor. He does a little flip at the apex, orienting himself
straight down as he begins to fall. He extends one muscular arm in front of
him, becoming a freefalling missile of vengeance diving straight for Geese.
"ULTIMATE HEAVEN AND EARTH SELF TAUGHT FIST!"
Suddenly, there's a 'telepoooort!' as Geese lashes out, and Athena moves
through him in an instant, reappearing in a flash at the opposite side of
the ring. Hopefully Dan can take the heat. The pink glow of the healing aura
returns, and one can only imagine how tired Geese is of it... but just a bit
of breathing room, and she can gather her psychic energy together long
enough to... well, we'll see, won't we?

Geese scowls as Athena just disappears. He's getting very frustrated now,
and it's starting to cost him. Dan's fist is just barely side-stepped, it
comes close to grazing him. But he has bigger priorities now. Athena...Geese
needs to drop her before she can keep restoring herself, and Dan, over and
over. With that in mind, he rushes after her even as energy begins flowing
around Athena, and lashes out with a lunging side kick for her stomach. It's
very, very telegraphed...but he's hoping to catch her while she's still
healing.

Dan's fist slams into the ground. Dan holds the pose for a moment, almost
managing to look cool until...
"YOW!" He pulls his hand up, shaking the pain out and blowing on it. The
pain only seems to last a moment, though, before he's back on his feet.
"Geese, you really are a pathetic fighter!" he calls. "Not only are you
ignoring your match in a fight to attack a girl, but you can't even knock
her out!" Placing one hand on his hip, he flings his other arm out, pointing
a finger at the nearest exit. "Why don't you call it a night and get back to
sitting behind a desk? You can't win, and everyone here knows it!"
Regardless of how Geese takes this, Dan's boasting is boosting his moral
back to its usual level.

Indeed, Athena spots the kick before it enters her space, and she hops up
into the air, lashing out with a simple leap kick with a soft kiai of a
"Da!". Apparently it's starting to come down to sheer martial skill at the
moment, as if the calm before the storm. She knows Geese is singling her for
obvious reasons, and has no real way to avoid his pressuring. The only
choice left is to stand and fight.

Geese actually snarls as Athena just gets over his kick, though it's cut off
by her foot smacking into his head and knocking him back, his attempt to
raise his arms in defense coming a moment too late. He's looking quite worn
out now, but turns towards Dan now. "Fine...have it your way, punk!" He
makes one under-handed pitching motion with his right hand, "Double
Reppuken!" And a blue chi wave projectile forms on the ground. With a
similar pitch motion from his left hand, the wave grows larger, and surges
along the floor towards Dan. He's very, very irritated now.

Dan laughs inwardly as Geese turns to him. Finally, he rose to it. It only
takes a second for Geese to throw the Reppukens, but a second should be all
Athena needs. Having expected retaliation, Dan's arms are already moving to
push back the blast of energy. When it impacts, Dan just barely holds
on--but it sends him skidding back about 20 feet, and Dan stumbles forward
when it finally dissipates. His entire front is singed up, and he looks a
little woozy, but one shake of his head and he's already back in business.
"Is that the best you've got, Geese?" he calls, thumping his chest. "Rock
was able to hit me harder than that! You getting soft in your old age? You'd
better retire soon, or else Dan Hibiki will have to put you in the home
himself!"

Athena tries to take advantage of Geese's opening, and gathering her arms
close in a block, she then moves in on Geese, trying to ram him with her
shoulder suddenly. Hopefully, the sudden change of attack style might let
her nail the old man - or at least put some wear on him. Even with their
decided advantage, Athena can't really hold back like she often does; the
feeling she gets from Geese, surprisingly, brings out her fighting spirit
more profoundly than her last couple of fights.

Geese dodges off to the side of Athena's arm-ram attempt, not quite as slow
as his condition might suggest. He's overwhelmed here, but still has a
little in him. And Dan's taunting seems to still be working quite well,
sending him charging right at Dan. It's very blatant, and he tries to grab
Dan, then lift him up overhead, and sling him back down at the ground as
hard as he can. He's definitely provoked.

'butt bash', then steps around her and continues pursuing Dan. If Dan wants
to be a whack-a-mole, fine. Geese makes a flying leap at him, foot aiming
down in a crushing kick at Dan's face, to act as the hammer in this
particular game.

Dan pops up one last time to find Geese coming straight at him. As quickly
as he can, he puts his hands up to try and catch the foot, but it doesn't
slow down at all, smashing the backs of Dan's hands into his face and
hurting just as much as if the foot had struck home. Dan goes reeling
backward, barely holding onto the floor to keep himself from flying too far
back. He -definitely- looks dazed now, but the intensity remains, and even
if he can't really see straight...he's still getting up.
"It's...now or never..." Again, a bright sheen of light envelopes Dan, and
he sprints forward. He may not be able to see straight, but he knows Geese
is right in front of him. At the appropriate distance, Dan brings his fist
up, the hand wrapped in blue chi. "KOURYU!" He leaps into the air and lands,
and whether or not he hit the first time he launches into a second, shorter
uppercut. "REKKA!" No matter if the hits land or miss entirely, that's all
Dan's got, and he passes out on the mat shortly after. Good luck, Athena.

So much for the Phoenix Bomb, as the fans call it. Athena lands on her feet,
remaining near Geese as she lashes out with a simple elbow strike aimed as
his face followed by a lunging punch aimed as his solar plexus. Apparently,
she's trying to follow up on Dan's mighty lead, but she's obviously just as
spent as Geese seems to be. Her features crease with concern regarding her
teammate, but she did all she could to keep him standing... and now it's
just her and Geese.
This does not look good.

Geese looks very satisfied with himself as he nails Dan. That felt GOOD.
When Dan begins shining however, he starts to brace for impact. The first
uppercut is blocked, then leaps away from Dan before the second one uppercut
can be completed. His landing doesn't leave him off-balance at all, and
Athena's elbow strike is pivoted away from, and the follow-up punch parried
off to the side. "Heh heh. With that joker out of the way..."
Geese's elbow goes out now, trying to strike Athena in the chest. And from
there, he goes into a myriad of punches and kicks, a real flurry of blows.
At the tail end of it, he cups his palms together, and with a yell, lets a
thin, piercing ray of blue chi shoot forth to try and blast Athena away.
Geese does not go into a flurry of strikes, actually. Instead, his elbow
strike is a mere feint, and it turns into an attempt to wrap an arm around
Athena's waist, then fling her high up into the air. Real high. High enough
that even landing on her feet might hurt some, then he backs off a few
steps.

Athena is flung, a flash of light, and... another flash. Athena reappears
across the ring, and then stares at Geese. She then grins and bows, saying,
"Good fight!", taking a bit of a moment to collect herself. As she does so,
a small wave can be seen in the dust and particles about her, flowing out
from her position. It's a bit of a silent clash, as fighting energies build
to a fevered pitch, flowing out into tangible form.
COMBATSYS: Athena takes a breather.
Geese likewise stops, after Athena speaks. His response is a dark chuckle,
then... "It certainly has been. You're not just some ditz singer with more
looks than talent...I'm very impressed." Then Geese begins sliding across
the arena floor, though he's still standing on his feet. Blue energy trails
behind him, explaining that little feat, as once again an elbow is extended.
"But you still need to admit defeat." Geese continues to pick up speed as
his slide proceeds, and if his elbow slams into Athena's stomach as he
hopes, Geese then proceeds into a figurative hailstorm of attacks. Punches
there, kicks elsewhere, the whole array, ending in the 'pinpoint' chi blast
up close.

Athena is battered, bruised, and broken. She cries out several times,
getting batted around like a rag-doll before falling over. Nope, no song
tonight, except for a swan song, as she's tossed to the floor of the ring
unconscious.
Geese finishes his display with another arm-windmilling, ending it in an 'X'
pose as Athena falls. "Hmph...I expected as much." He refrains from any
further celebration, though. The match is over, and the audience probably
got their money's worth. He pokes a foot at Dan to make sure the Saikyo
master is good and quiet, then walks off. Part of him makes a mental note to
have arena staff offer a microphone to Athena later on anyway. Just in case
she's willing in the future...never hurts to please the crowd even more.

Dan does wake up eventually, but quite a while after Geese leaves. Yep. He
gets up, wobbles a little, and goes to check on Athena briefly. The arena
managers are fast at responding, though. Once that's all taken care of, he
heads for the box office. Presumably to sign up for next week.
