First Tourney - [Lower:R4B2] Rock vs Guy

Description: Rock fights "Joe Musashi" in the River Bed. (Winner: Guy)

River Bed
Running right behind nearby Gedo High, littered with graffiti and the
like, is a small river bed. A concrete-cast ledge divides this section of
wash from the actual river, leaving a small area of somewhat muddy ground.
Secluded from the rest of the city thanks to its location, the small area
has seen more than its fair share of violence, particularly thanks to its
location and to the populace of Gedo High, overlooking the small rectangle
of land. Stone steps lead up and down between the street above and the
riverbed below. While the bed used to be polluted and litter-ridden, in
recent years Gedo students have maintained their favorite fighting ground,
and things seem substantially cleaner.

Rock is already waiting at the River Bed -- A surprisingly solitary spot,
considering that this fight is so near the end of the tournament. Thanks to
the intervention of Gedo High students, no one but the camera crew is on
site. Keeping a solitary vigil with cameras both on the bed and just
overlooking it, the crew seems eager for things to get on the road, complete
with sportscaster speaking into one of the cameras. Rock's been here for
awhile -- Sitting against the concrete ledge that separates the street from
the river. He seems pretty casual, waiting for his opponent... even with one
camera trained on him at practically all times.

Guy isn't one to be very late, and today is no exception.  With a minimum of
fuss, he comes calmly walking down the stairs from the street above, before
coming to a stop on the muddy turf.  Of course, cameras immediately center
on him, anxiously awaiting what he does next.  Which is...nothing.  He just
stands there, waiting for Rock to acknowledge him.

"Hey there, Joe Musashi." Quickly pulling himself up from his spot against
the wall, Rock climbs onto his feet, dusting himself off with a few pats of
his gloved hands. "Looks like it's just you and me this time, huh? Mano e
mano?" A brief crack of his knuckles issues a series of pops as Rock steps
forward, a camera following his every movement. "So, you wanna kick this off
or should I?"

Guy frowns at bit at being called...Joe Musashi?  Whatever.  "Indeed it is.
I hope you're not expecting that it will make you do any better than last
time against me."  He jumps up on one foot, then the other, limbering up for
a moment.  "Feel free to attack me at any time."

Rock shrugs a bit as he slides into a combat stance, limbs slipping into
pre-practiced positions as though they were meant to be there. "Yeah, yeah.
Stow it, Musashi. The only thing that's going to make me fight better is the
towards the river, just to emphathize his words. Not yet moving, Rock seems
to mutter something inaudibly to himself, eyes shutting for a few seconds as
he does so. A self pep-talk? Whatever the case, he explodes into action a
moment later, lunging straight at Guy, one fist winding up to strike dead
on... Before he vanishes, his body evaporating into a blur of motion... Or
did he? As quickly as he may have seemed to disappear, Rock has somehow
circled around to Guy's rear, one knee racing up into the shinobi's
backbone. -That- would qualify as a new trick.

COMBATSYS: Rock has started a fight here.
COMBATSYS: Guy has joined the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Guy blocks Rock's Light Kick.

Rock             0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0              Guy

Guy isn't one to be caught off guard so easily, no.  Just barely managing to
track Rock's movement, he has time to spin partially and bring his arm
around and push Rock's knee aside before it can solidly impact with his
back.  continuing the spin, Guy crouches down, fulling spinning around once
before flinging his fist out, seeking to lay a lot of backhand solidly into
Rock's midsection.

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Rock with Houzantou.

Rock             0/-------/------=|=------\-------\0              Guy

Rock's arms try to rise up to deflect the force of Guy's backhand... But he
doesn't quite make it. Strike squarely in the midsection, the young man
recoils a bit from the impact... But manages to stay on his feet. Wasting no
time in returning Guy's blow, Rock's fist lashes out at the ninja's face,
moving at a decent clip as it does.

COMBATSYS: Rock successfully hits Guy with Jab Punch.

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             0/-------/-----==|=------\-------\0              Guy

Guy tries to bring a hand up to deflect the fist, but with his hands far
from his face, he's clipped in the jaw.  Barely recoiling, he takes
advantage of his crouching position to leap upwards, spinning with his leg
extended the whole way, for a total of three decidedly painful times.  With
a little bit of luck, they'll hit, too.

COMBATSYS: Rock blocks Guy's Bushin Senpuu Kyaku.

[       \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             0/-------/----===|==-----\-------\0              Guy

Rock does something a little odd to defend against Guy's chain of kicks; he
lunges at him. Though the distance between them is short, Rock darts
straight in, one forearm rising to soak the impact of all three kicks. No
sooner than is that finished with than does Rock leap into the air, one fist
stretching downwards at Guy. Like a human arrow, Rock's right shoulder
explodes with chi energy, the explosive force propelling himself downward
and into his foe. Curiously, though -- All that chi looks almost like a
wing, either by coincidence or intention.

COMBATSYS: Guy interrupts Rage Run Dunk from Rock with Seoi Nage.
- Power hit! -

[           \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             0/-------/---====|==-----\-------\0              Guy

Guy lands gently, but doesn't have very much time at all before Rock is
barreling downward at him.  Stepping forward, he turns around,
simultaneously moving under the hit and bringing himself in position to
firmly grab Rock's wrist and shoulder.  Rather than try and stop Rock's
movement, Guy chooses to add some momentum, levering Rock over him and into
the ground.

"The hell?!" Grabbed by Guy, Rock finds himself flung into the ground.
Impacting with a rather ungraceful-sounding crack, the blonde lets out a
yelp of pain, freezing there on the floor for a few moments. Eventually,
Rock staggers to his feet, his expression twisted with frustration. He's
also curiously silent, for someone who tends to be a little talkative during
a fight... Until he yells something out. "REPPUKEN!" Sweeping an arm over
the ground, Rock fires off a wave of purple energy, with moves across the
ground towards Guy at a fair clip -- considering the relatively short range
between them, this one might manage to hit.

COMBATSYS: Guy dodges Rock's Reppuken.

No such luck for Rock today.  No, Guy takes the classic approach for this;
he leaps forward, up and over the purple projectile, flipping quickly and
repeatedly in a tight ball.  When he it bring him in front of Rock, Guy
uncurls, midair, and he begins his next attack.  Reaching forward and down
for Rock's shoulders, Guy looks to flip Rock around again, driving the
unfortunate son of Geese down into the ground with considerably more force
than last time.

COMBATSYS: Rock blocks Guy's Izuna Otoshi.

[              \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             0/-------/-======|===----\-------\0              Guy

Rock is indeed caught and send towards the ground, but he isn't going
quietly. Though grabbed by the shoulders, Rock manages to land on his feet
instead of his back, taking the time to instead reach out to try to snatch
Guy's hands -- Hopefully still on his shoulders. Though he hits the ground
at a less-than-comfortable velocity, Rock tries to keep the momentum going
as he makes an attempt to whip Guy around and chuck him towards the river.
More importantly, /away/ from Rock, giving him some room to breathe in the
midsts of a fight that he is very clearly not winning.

COMBATSYS: Guy dodges Rock's Shinkuu Nage.

Guy has found that it's generally not a good idea to keep holding on to
someone after you've gone and made your attempt.  Following his own advice,
Guy pushes off of the shoulders moments before Rock can get his hands on
him.  Flipping once in the air as he puts distance between him and Rock, Guy
looks Rock over again, deciding what to do next.  By the time he hits the
ground, he's come to a decision, as he's running at Rock as fast as he can.
>From a short distance away, Guy jumps and spins, bringing his foot around in
a rather impressive backwards roundhouse kick, right where Rock's head
should be.

COMBATSYS: Rock fails to counter Hayagake from Guy with Joudan Crack
Counter.

[                    \\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             1/------=/=======|====---\-------\0              Guy

Rock tries to do /something/. He tries to do something to try to stop the
onslaught that is Guy. No one will ever know quite WHAT, because it
completely and utterly fails -- Rock barely even began to move before Guy's
foot lands square on his face. Staggering back a little bit, Rock tries to
shake off the aftereffects of what looks like an extremely painful attack...
all the while, glaring dead on at Guy, fists clenching. Oh, it's obvious
that he's angry. /Very/ angry. Who wouldn't be?

Guy lands gently, still in front of Rock, and fairly close to boot.  Things
are going well for him.  Extremely well.  At this rate, he might get a third
shot at Kula.  Rather than let himself get distracted or let up on the
attack, as he comes back to a standing position, he lashes out with a low
kick to Rock's ankle/shin region.

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Rock with Light Kick.
- Power hit! -

[                        \\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             1/-----==/=======|====---\-------\0              Guy

Rock is hit, in the ankle... And it's surprisingly hard. Though the kick may
have been light, either Rock lands wrong or Guy manages to strike in just
the right spot to induce a rather sickening crack -- Probably Rock's ankle
being forced in a direction it's not supposed to be forced into. Crumpling
to the ground, Rock's lower body more or less gives out beneath him. Humbled
and more or less on his knees, Rock seems... completely beaten. But he's not
giving in head. Without rising up, Rock whirls around on the ground,
planting one hand into the mud as he launches himself upwards like a human
corkscrew -- Except with an upward motion, as opposed to a downward one. As
he rises, he directs all of that force onto his left boot (as opposed to his
customary right, most likely not used due to the fresh injury to it) up into
Guy's chin. It's a slow, predictable attack... But it's strong, and it'll
hurt if it hits on some off-chance.

COMBATSYS: Guy dodges Rock's Rising Tackle.

[                        \\\\\\  < >  ///////////////////////////   ]
Rock             1/-----==/=======|====---\-------\0              Guy

As pointed out, the Rising Tackle is a slow, predictable attack.  Guy has a
minimum of difficulty dodging it, even with Rock's clever 'look at me, I'm
beaten' ruse.  Making a few quick, low leaps backwards to give him some
distance from it, Guy pauses to contemplate what he's going to do next.
After all, there's no sense risking anything at this point.

COMBATSYS: Guy focuses on his next action.

Rock staggers away rather desperately, limping a bit on that right foot. It
takes him some time to get away from Guy at all, putting about ten feet
between them. He looks beaten. He looks battered -- But he's used to that.
What really looks strange is that he looks honestly /demoralized/. He's not
used to being smacked around like this, even in the tag match preceeding
this one. But his fighting spirit hasn't been entirely snuffed out. Though
he's slow to move on his right foot, Rock sweeps one arm over the mud,
repeating a gesture from earlier in the match to a T. "Double..." Only this
time, he does it again. It's another slow attack -- Almost child's play for
Guy to dodge. But in his current state, Rock doesn't seem to have /time/ to
try to chip away at Guy's defenses with weaker, quicker pokes. Throwing
meatballs at the shinobi seems his only option. "REPPUKEN!"

COMBATSYS: Rock successfully hits Guy with Double Reppuken.

[                        \\\\\\  < >  /////////////////             ]
Rock             1/---====/=======|=======\-------\1              Guy

Guy get slammed brutally by the twin wave of condensed ouch.  Sent flying
back from the impact, Guy flops once or twice through the mud before
flipping back up onto his feet.  He narrows his eyes, and makes a quick note
to finish this before any more 'meatballs' come his way.  That really
hurt...And so to return to it, and hopefully finish his weakened foe, Guy
dashes forward, pausing momentarily to gather his strength; it takes only a
moment, and then it's a low leap forward, Guy punching up a storm as he
moves.  It's a vertible rain of blows.

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Rock with Bushin Hassou Ken.

[                                < >  /////////////////             ]
Rock             1/=======/=======|-------\-------\0              Guy

Rock really should evade, or protect himself from the rain of blows. Maybe
he tries. -Maybe-. That'll never be confirmed, however, because once
again... He completely and utterly fails to do whatever it is he tried to
do. Blow after blow hits home on Rock's body, turning him black and blue in
many a spot and more or less making mincemeat out of him. That finished...
It looks like he might almost have something to hit the shinobi with. As the
rain of attacks conclude, Rock is standing. Wobbly, but standing. If he's
got any juice left, now is the time. But he has nothing. Crumpling into
nothing, Rock hits the mud on his knees first, before collapsing backwards
-- Not quite unconscious, but his balance is shaken to the point where he
can't stand, and to the point where the fight's more than beyond the point
of being declared over.

COMBATSYS: Rock takes no action.
COMBATSYS: Rock can no longer fight.
COMBATSYS: Rock has left the fight here.

Guy skids to a halt in the mud, though slides might be a better word.  He
pauses, and sees that his attack was succesful; Rock is down, if not
completely out.  Guy stands tall, his back to Rock's limp form, and raises
his fore and middle fingers together near his face, then snaps it down in a
sort of salute.  He says, "Better luck next time."  And then he's on his
way, presumably going off to attend to other business.

COMBATSYS: Guy has ended the fight here.
