The Taiyo Dome!
Second only to Howard Arena, this dome is a highly impressive arena that
can be used for any number of sports. The metal ceiling arcs high overhead,
so high that there's enough room for a small blimp to putter around in the
air, displaying information and advertisements for products Geese's companies
sell. One quarter of the immense ceiling may be retracted at will, allowing
sunlight to pour into the arena on fair-weather days. Audience stands ring
the arena, providing enough seats for all the schools of Southtown and more.
The only section of the wall that doesn't host a seating area is a massive
door bearing Taiyo High's emblem.
Although the central arena hosts baseball and football fields, it is
possible for a rectangular portion of the floor to lower into the ground. The
door will then open, and a tennis court can then slide into the middle of the
arena from outside. This dome is a wonderful display of technology, allowing
for all sorts of sports and games to occur under the same roof.
He didn't particularly want to do this. On one hand, he'd been looking
forward to it. On the other... well, he didn't really want to fight Megumi
because she was Megumi. Random Aikido Classmate, sure. But he didn't like
fighting girls and he didn't like fighting his friends. Now he had to both.
For once, Rock Howard has been surprisingly punctual, being in the arena --
which makes a pretty excellent fighting arena, with Taiyo students eager to
watch their classmates going at it filling the stands and a camera crew
already setting up with an aerial camera to supplement to two or three
normal cameras they have surrounding the small area laid out for fighting.
Oblivious to said preparations and to the cheers of the crowd, Rock Howard
stands in the center of the square platform set up for the fight, hands in
his pockets as he waits for Megumi to show up.
Megumi is more or less on time. A couple minutes late, but no more than
that. With all the spectators, cameras, and so forth set up, she steps into
the Dome Arena's main floor, already twisting one of her hands around in
'inflicted-upon-self' variations of most of her techniques. It's idle
stretching as she looks over to Rock. "Seems everything's ready, isn't it?"
She's in a fairly normal mood.
Rock shrugs his shoulders, yanking his hands free in the process as he
starts tightening his gloves. "Yeah, looks like it. Listen... Sorry you're
here. I should have pulled my weight in the tag match." Rock grimaces a
little bit, one blonde eyebrow arching over red irises. "We should've won.
Probably would have, if I hadn't screwed up against the ninja dude."
Megumi gives a very curt response, "I don't want to discuss that sort of
thing now, and I don't think you want to either." Her stretching routine
concludes, and after a few short hops in place, and a quick wave to the
crowd... "Ready when you are."
Rock doesn't seem to thrilled with the idea, but he ultimately does lift his
arms into a not-so-familiar Hakyokosaken stance, feet spread and bobbing up
and down on the balls of his feet, ready for combat. "Right, right... Looks
like I'm ready, too. Bring it on anytime."

Megumi takes a few more moments to prepare herself mentally after Rock's own
'ready' signal. And then, "Some people say first strike means victory, you
know." She takes off into a sprint after Rock, making little zig-zag motions
as she goes. Her intent is to manage to crash a shoulder into Rock's chest
to unbalance him, and then grab an arm and apply a standing joint-lock to
his wrist.

"Other people say: "Ladies first", you know!" Miming her but lacking a great
deal of the confident intensity typically associated with his fighting, Rock
plants his feet firmly into the ground to soak most of the impact from her
initial crash. Only somewhat unbalanced, Rock snatches his wrist back and
away from her joint-lock attempt, before bringing his fist into a quick
poking jab to her midsection.

Megumi tries to spin sideways to avoid the fist, but has too much forward
momentum going to redirect in time. Rock's punch strikes her in the ribs,
mid-spin, causing a quick 'ow' to come out of her. She keeps spinning
however, and comes out of it with a spinning backhand punch aimed at Rock's
head. No words for now, it would seem.

Rock once again brings his forearm up to the side of his head to deflect
Megumi's punch, hopefully striking her in the wrist to prevent much more
than a slight soreness on his own person. The rest of him, meanwhile, drops
into a crouch, bringing one knee up into his own torso before decompressing
into a light, but surprisingly quick uppercut into her ribs again.

Megumi is quite the flurry of activity so far, coming out of her spin as the
attack is blocked, into another one to have her facing Rock. She tries to
reach out with her hands to catch his punch, but by the time she's actually
started this effort, his fist is half-way there already. Too late. Rock's
punch meets her rib area, sending her flying a few feet into the air and
landing on the ground roughly. She springs back up to her feet immediately,
but looks decidedly dazed from all this...
Regardless of whether or not he was eager to get on with the fight, Rock
seems to be holding back nothing. With Megumi dazed for a few seconds, Rock
is already rushing in with considerable speed. Sprinting dead on into
Megumi, Rock clenchs one fist, holding it aloft at his side... before his
body dissolves in a blue of motion. No impact. No injury. No sign of rock,
even... until his voice, that is, coming from right /behind/ Megumi. "Don't
feel bad... you're good. Real good. But this is these are the martial arts
that I got from /that/ man -- My father. This isn't an even match at all!"
This time, Rock drives his fist into Megumi's back, carefully avoiding her
spine or any ribs, striking her somewhere near her waist. It's a powerful
punch, however, and Rock seems to be relying on the element of surprise
rather than speed, on this one.

Megumi seems to be a bit out of it anyway, Rock's charge meeting no
opposition. But when he sort of fades away, behind her, she turns confused.
"Huh? Where..." She listens to Rock, and whirls around to face him. "Right
there!" This time, her hands catch Rock's arm, and she pivots, then tosses
Rock roughly away. Let him get a bit of 'grass burn'. "You shouldn't take
trash like that until you've won, really."
Rock is promptly... tossed across the arena. So much for looking cool.
Hitting the ground and tumbling a few feet, the Son of Howard staggers up to
his feet and dusts himself off for a few moments. "Maybe I already have.
I've been holding back, up 'till now... but you're right. You deserve better
than that. You shouldn't be treated any different just 'cause you're my
friend. Fine!" Squeezing his left hand into a fist, Rock takes what looks
like an uppercut into the thin air -- But something's different. Halfway
through its arc, Rock's fist glows with a bright purple chi, chi which leaps
from his hand to the ground and darts through the grass in a wave, racing
straight for Megumi. "REPPUKEN!"

Megumi runs at Rock mid-way into his speech, not slowing down at all for the
incoming Reppuken. She makes a quick hop over it, and lands without losing
much stride in her sprint. Then she makes a lunge at Rock, aiming to press
her hands onto his face and a shoulder in an attempt to drive him down to
the ground and, ideally, smash his head into the floor. It's not fancy, by
any means...

Rock manages a block once more, crossing his forearms over his face to
negate her attempt to drive into his skull. Splaying both limbs outwards,
then, in an attempt to push her back slightly, Rock takes a single step
forward before pulling his arms back close to his body... and then charging
forward. He moves not with a footstep, however, his simply as though he were
fueled by chi alone as he glides over the grass, one vaguely glowing elbow
leading the charge.

Megumi lands after an unsuccessful attempt to take Rock to the ground, only
to be met with Rock already going into a counter-attack. When Rock 'chi
slides' at her, she's already too close to do much about it, and despite her
efforts to step back and away from Rock, it's no good. His elbow lands in
her midsection, knocking her back several feet from Rock and causing her to
double over, holding hands to where she was hit. "That's something else.
I've seen stuff like it, but...where'd you learn that?" She recovers from
the hit after a moment of collecting wits, and begins making a series of
quick 'hop steps' at Rock. Once she's close, she arcs a leg behind Rock's
knees, and tries to grab one of his arms. If she manages to trip him up, she
then goes to the ground and does a harsh armbar to him, then lets go and
vaults back up to her feet.

For the first time, Rock's plans seem to seriously go amiss. She landed one
solid hit on him earlier, but other than that, he seems to have been mostly
pleased with the progress of the match. This changes things considerably. In
one swift motion, Rock finds his arm cracking in a way it wasn't initially
meant to crack. Letting out an audible outcry of pain, Rock pulls back his
arm, still on the ground and in extremely close range. So much for the
Double Reppuken, he considers -- He's not going to feel comfortable using
this arm until he's had a chance to walk this off. Fine. Next best
alternative. Looking up at his friend with red eyes, Rock smirks a little
bit. "I didn't learn that from my father. That's something I learned on my
own -- Same place I learned this!" In one fluid motion, Rock whirls around
on his back, spinning in something that more closely resembles breakdancing
than anything else... with one twist. Planting his non-Storm Held palm
against the ground, Rock propels himself straight up as he rotates around,
driving one foot into Megumi's upper torso. "RISING TACKLE!"

Megumi thinks she's getting what she wants. She wanted Rock to just leap up
with an attack like that. And she swings her hands out to grab Rock's foot
with an elated yell of "GotchOOF!" Well, half-elated. She caught Rock's
foot, but the momentum behind it let it slam into her anyway and carry her
upward. The result of this is profound, as she goes sailing up several feet,
then landing on the ground after a noticable fall. She's moving, starting to
get up...it proves she's still in the match, but it's so sluggish that it's
debateable as to how much it'll be worth.
Rock lands gracefully, spreading his arms nearly as Megumi hits the ground
not far from his feet. "... Like I said. Sorry about this. But I have a
feeling you wouldn't like it if I went easy on you, or if I let you win or
anything. Knowing you... If you can't win, you probably want to see my best
in the process. Try this." Standing just over the dazed Megumi, Rock lefts
both arms to his sides before bringing them down into the floor no more than
a few inches from Megumi. "RAGING..." His voice isn't the only thing that's
booming. Without explanation, his hair and jacket begin to flutter, as
though in a breeze with no visible source -- Odds are, Megumi can feel it,
too. The source becomes apparent a moment later, as Rock's arms explode with
what can only be described as a tremendous amount of chi. "... STOORM!"
Flowing free from his hands and from his entire body, the explosion sweeps
upwards and outwards like a hurricane, picking up everything that isn't
fortunate enough to be within the eye of it -- A position occupied
exclusively by Rock -- and battering it with chi before dropping it to the
ground.

Megumi is still trying to get up, even as she looks at Rock looming over
her. "Yeah...you're right about that. I really want the prize money from
these events, but it's not worth much if it's an empty win. No one
appreciates dirty money like that..." She manages to at least sit up before
the breeze starts, and is starting to get to her feet completely when the
Storm is unleashed. She's point-blank. Forget evading it. Forget anything.
The chi rolls over her, and she stays on her feet despite the battering this
is causing.
When the Raging Storm fades, Megumi is standing rather limp, 'dead on her
feet.' She makes a final grab at Rock, aiming to wrap her hands around his
waist. If she grabs on, she then begins spinning in place, before leaping up
into the air with him in tow, then inverting in mid-air and falling to the
ground, aiming to smash Rock into the grass floor of the dome. Even if this
works though, it's all she had -- she collapses on the ground after it and
fails to move, definitely out cold after all that beating and exertion.

Rock doesn't make any attempt to evade when Megumi gets a grip on him.
Spinning through the air in what looks like a piledriver on crack, he DOES
manage to break free in mid-air, apparently taking advantage of Megumi's
relative weakness. Hitting the ground, Rock lands on his back instead of his
head. It looks like it stung, but Rock's still awake and looking relatively
unhurt. Rising into a sitting position, Howard plants one hand in the grass
and the other on his knee, taking a few moments to peer over at Megumi.
Meanwhile, the fight is declared a win and medical technicians are quickly
making their way towards the fighters, if not just to check that Megumi's
okay, providing a few bandages, and a nice place to wake up in. As for Rock
himself, the crowd explodes in mixed applause; some people were apparently
favoring Megumi. All the same, Rock gradually brings himself to his feet,
and heads after Megumi, spending no time playing to the crowd.
