First Tourney - [Lower:R2B2] Dan vs Rock

Description: Three words. "LET'S! GET! JIGGY!" *shiver* (Winner: Rock)

Geese Tower - Lobby

Just inside the entrance, the bottom floor of Geese Tower consists of a
simple but elegant marble lobby. Mostly green in color, the room is filled
with security guards. Curiously, however, no metal detectors are about. As
this is the center of Howard Enterprises, it would seem logical to have
them, but the place does look nicer without. Typically filled with
legitimate businessmen coming and going between the front door and the
elevators, the lobby is scattered with simple leather furniture, for those
who have to wait down here.

At the appointed time, a certain man in pink strolls up to the doors of
Geese Tower. The doormen know his face--and the gi--and let him through. Dan
Hibiki saunters inside, looking about him curiously. It's fairly obvious he
hasn't ever been in here before. He gives a low whistle, breaking into a
grin. "Not bad, not bad! I'll have to redecorate the dojo now..." Spotting
the requisite camera crews, his grin gets even wider and he waves to get
their attention, striking a pose.
"YATTA ZE! DAN HIBIKI IS HERE TO WIN!"

Rock doesn't need a glance from the doormen as he enters. This is
technically his HOUSE, after all. Pushing his way through the door and
striding right past with the doorman without so much as a pleasant word,
Rock regards his surroundings with an air of resentment; he even spits on
his way in, somewhere on the floor. Eventually, however, he makes his way
into the cordoned off area, pushing his way through a small crowd and camera
crew. Grabbing the collar of his jacket and pulling it tight, Rock gives Dan
a ticked-off glare with those red eyes of his. "Let's just get this over
with, whacko."

Dan stops posing as someone else gets in the ring with him. He blinks once,
turning to look at Rock. He scratches his head, looking bewildered as he
squints at the teen. "Huh. You're Rock?" He folds his arms over his chest,
closing his eyes and blowing a lock of hair out of his eyes irritably. "Man,
what a step down. Ever since I got dropped from the big leagues, all I've
been fighting is kids." With a harrumph, he adjusts his gi. "But, hey. If it
means I keep climbing, then let's do it, kiddo!" He takes the usual
Ansatsuken stance, grinning. "I promise I'll make it quick. You don't even
feel Saikyo style until you're down on the ground for the ten-count!"

Rock takes... no stance. His hands in his pockets, Rock stares right back at
Dan, not insulting him but apparently unamused by his antics for a few
moments. Somewhere, a camera wheels about, trying to catch his expression;
handsome "bad boy" teenagers who make news in major fighting tournaments?
Rock's face'll be on a magazine, sooner or later. "Tch. Don't underestimate
me just 'cause I'm young." Prying his hands from his pockets, Rock tightens
the gloves he wears, right then left, before finally sliding into a combat
stance... this one, looking a little bit odd. It's doesn't quite resemble
anything commonly seen; the only real analogue, however, is a famous one:
Terry Bogard, which it sort of looks like. Sort of. "Now hurry up and come
on -- I don't like wasting my time humiliating clowns like you!"

Dan blinks again, and GLARES. "CLOWN?! I'm no clown!" Rather than attack,
however, he shifts from the stance into another pose, his thumb pointed at
himself. "I'm Dan Hibiki, master of the soon-to-be-legendary Saikyo School
of Martial Arts! No mere child can defeat the awesome might of Saikyo!" He
reaches inside his gi, pulling out a glossy photo and a black marker. As he
scribbles something down on it, he continues, "Once I've won and you've seen
the light, Rock, call this number. I'll teach you -real- martial arts,
unlike whatever schoolyard brawling you've undoubtedly learned!" Holding the
photo like a shuriken, Dan tucks the pen away before flicking the photo at
Rock. It seems it's not just a photo of Dan and a phone number,
though...it's also a calculated attack, as the photo -does- fly like a
shuriken.

COMBATSYS: Dan has started a fight here.
COMBATSYS: Rock has joined the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Rock blocks Dan's Premium Sign.

Rock             0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0              Dan

Rock bats Dan's sign away with one hand, apparently more than a little
shocked at the Saikyo warrior's mode of attack. "... whatever." He did,
however, sustain a bit of a paper cut to his finger, which Rock will gripe
about later. Stupid photo. Moving up cautiously -- Even if Dan looks
ridiculous, that doesn't mean he's harmless, after all; Rock's angsty, not
stupid -- Rock throws a quick jab at Dan, looking more as if he's testing
the waters than anything else. Indeed, his punch looks more like a boxers
than anything else, a quick hook with more bark than bite.

COMBATSYS: Rock successfully hits Dan with Jab Punch.

Dan settles back into his fighting stance as the photo gets knocked aside,
and moves forward to meet Rock. He smirks as he notes Rock's hand coming up
to strike, and casually moves an arm to swat it aside...only to find that he
never got the chance. The hook thuds into his shoulder, and he grimaces for
a second. "So you can throw A punch..." Dan smirks, his confidence never
waning. "LET'S! GET! JIGGY!" he roars, and hops back for a second before
launching himself at Rock, hopping up to stab his knee forward in a classic
kickboxing move.

COMBATSYS: Dan successfully hits Rock with Light Kick.
- Power hit! -

Rock             0/-------/-----==|=------\-------\0              Dan

"/Jiggy/?! No thanks, chump!" Rock might sound confident, but Dan's quick
kickboxing blow catches Rock off-guard. Nailing him in the breast, the
younger fighter stumbles back a few paces. Widening the gap between them by
a few feet, Rock starts to get a little bit more active. "But you bet your
ass I can throw a punch, pal, and I can throw a whole lot more than that!"
Launching himself up into the air with a shallow leap, Rock brings one foot
straight down towards the top of Dan's head, swinging up and back like a
mid-air axe kick of sorts.

COMBATSYS: Rock successfully hits Dan with Medium Kick.

Rock             0/-------/-----==|====---\-------\0              Dan

Dan chortles as his kick hits, landing easily on the floor. As Rock moves to
attack, he shakes his head, crossing his wrists above his head to catch the
kick. And once again underestimation bites him in the ass, as his guard
doesn't even -stop- the kick. Rock's foot catches him in the head, and Dan
tumbles to the floor. He barely turns it into a roll backwards, coming up on
one knee and holding his head. "Owwwww..." Shaking it off, he stands up,
glaring. "Well, you hit harder than that other kid Seishirou, I'll give you
that. But there's no way you can beat me! I AM DAN!" He leaps up high,
high...
*THUMP*
"...D..dammit...who put a ceiling here?!"
Never let it be said Dan couldn't turn a mistake into a boon, though. Before
he can fall, he pushes off the ceiling with his hands, aiming himself feet
first at Rock. Pumping his legs, he alternates kicks as he flies through the
air. "DAN DAN BOOT TO THE HEAD!"

COMBATSYS: Rock blocks Dan's Dankuu Kyaku.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  /////////////////////         ]
Rock             0/-------/---====|=====--\-------\0              Dan

Rock manages to avoid being kicked in the head, per se -- Rather, he brings
his arms up over his face, and that's what Dan nails, instead. Rock hardly
stumbles from what seems to be a relatively shallow blow, recovering within
an instant as he spins around and darts backwards in a single leaping
stride, trying to get a bit of distance from Dan. "Seishirou, eh? You fought
Seishirou? I beat the crap out of him in the first round, remember!" Taking
advantage of the gap that separates the two combatants, Rock immediately
sweeps an arm across the floor, purplish energy streaming from his
fingertips and gathering along the floor. Forming a wave, the chi energy
races across the ground, speeding straight towards Dan. "And I'll take you
down, too! REPPUKEN!"

COMBATSYS: Dan fails to slow Reppuken from Rock with Gadouken.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////                ]
Rock             0/-------/--=====|=======\-------\1              Dan

Dan leaps away from Rock the moment his feet strike his arms. He lands on
the ground in a crouch, one hand curled into a fist. Ignoring the fact that
Seishirou had brought him to a double KO, Dan laughs. "That doesn't mean
you'll beat me! EEP!" The sudden appearance of the land-shark projectile
nearly catches him off guard, and hastily he throws his fist forward, a
blast of chi appearing to block the energy. It's not enough, though, and the
Reppuken just plows on through, knocking Dan back all the way into the front
desk. With a groan, he pushes himself to his feet, now looking a bit
unsteady. "...Huh...that the best you've got?" he taunts, still smirking at
Rock.

"No, it's not." Rock doesn't immediately seem to be following up his
previous attack, standing across from Dan back near the front desk. Striding
confidently towards the front, Rock holds both hands at his sides... as they
each begin to shimmer with the same purple energy from before. "And neither
is THIS!" This time, Rock seems to be eager to show Dan a little bit more of
what his 'best' is... it's the same technique as before, times two. One
sweep and then two launches twin land-sharks back at Dan, as they fuse
almost immediately, forming one /giant/ projectile.

COMBATSYS: Dan fails to slow Double Reppuken from Rock with Shinkuu Gadouken.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////                          ]
Rock             0/-------/=======|=====--\-------\0              Dan

Dan just kinda stares. As if that first one hadn't hurt like the dickens
already! Too iffy to dodge, too painful to block...but one thing Dan had
learned a long time ago--when your enemy forces you into two options, pick a
third. And even if it hadn't worked once, Dan's not the sort to simply give
up. You just had to -believe- it would work.
"Gotta tell ya, kid...that wasn't my best either! SHINKUU....GADOUKEN!" Dan
-charges- the Reppuken, flinging both arms in front of him. A ball twice the
size of his previous Gadouken forms, rushing forward to meet the Reppuken.
And...it dissipates. And the Reppuken is still coming on strong.
"...Ah, fu-" *WHAM* Dan doesn't simply crash into the front desk this time,
he gets knocked up and over it, landing in the employee area behind it. And
he doesn't reappear for some time.

"... Tch."
Totally and utterly unimpressed with Dan, apparently -- and failing to
understand the sheer power of manly awesome that he possesses -- Rock
doesn't even bother pursuing him as he gets blasted behind the desk by the
might of the Double Reppuken. He hardly even budges, holding his left elbow
in his right hand and seemingly taking a break for a few moments. After a
bit, he raises his voice and calls back, apparently waiting for Dan to come
back out. "Hey! You alright? Why don't we end this here -- It's starting to
get kinda sad, hate to tell ya."

COMBATSYS: Rock takes no action.

Silence for a moment more. Then, just before the tension gets to be too
much...one slightly charred hand reaches over the desk, grasping the edge.
The knuckles turn white as Dan slowly pulls himself up, his face looking
slightly red and a small dribble of blood coming from his mouth. His eyes
are shadowed, expression unreadable. He reaches up once his balance is okay,
wiping the blood away. "I didn't join this tournament to lose," he
mutters--though for him, a mutter is loud enough to cover most of the lobby.
"I refuse to be beaten by some punk kid. Dan Hibiki, The Ultimate Master Of
The Ultimate School Of Saikyo Martial Arts WILL NOT LOSE! UWAAAAOOH!" He
pulls himself into a horse stance, gathering his chi about him...and would
look fairly impressive if his gi wasn't tattered and he was half-hidden by
the desk. But it's still happening, dammit.

COMBATSYS: Dan gathers his will.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////                          ]
Rock             0/-------/=======|=======\=------\1              Dan

Rock is, honestly... a bit awed by this. Even when he's getting his ass
utterly beaten, this guy gets right back up, every bit as confident as when
he was put down. It's willpower, that for sure. Shifting from his fighting
stance, Rock arches a curious brow at Dan, his lips stretching into a
grimace... before relaxing into a very distinct grin. "You know what? You're
not so bad. Anybody else would have given up by now, getting whipped around
like a rag doll like you are. Tell you what, Ultimate Master of the Ultimate
School... hit me with your best shot. I can't wait to see what you've got."

COMBATSYS: Rock takes no action.

Dan leaps over the desk. ...Okay, more like he rolls over it. Regardless,
he's out in the open, now. He thumbs his nose, eyeing Rock beadily. "You
don't deserve my best shot." His voice isn't so much strong and powerful
now...but more sly, calculating. "Your name's Rock Howard, right? Not like I
can get into a fight without knowing my opponent." With a surprising burst
of energy, he throws himself on the floor, tucking into a roll...but not
toward Rock; rather, he rolls to the side, where he comes up on one knee,
shaking a fist. "Rock Howard, son of Geese Howard, you are not FIT to face
such a worthy fighter such as myself!" He rolls again, shaking his manly
forearm once again--his tattered gi just happens to fall away, showing off
his burly arm and pec. "Come and get me, if you dare, but this fight is won
already!" This, folks, THIS is the essence of Saikyo, something which Dan
forgets at times--but now he draws strength from it, able to ignore the
aches and pains he's earned from the fight. He will not fail!

COMBATSYS: Dan takes a breather.

Rock doesn't do much -- Least of all attack, that is. Slumping his
shoulders, Rock stares at Dan and Dan's indefatigable confidence, somewhere
between awe, shock, and hysterical laughter. "Look, look. I told you to come
and give me your best shot, not take a good, long, break. If you want to
relax, then you can just forfeit. Now hurry up and come get me!" Rock
doesn't seem like he's going to wait much longer. Tugging on his gloves to
pull them tight over his hands, Rock starts to stalk forward towards Dan.
Hands tightened into fists, Rock looks like he's about to end this fight
unless Dan does something, quick. "Yeah, I might be Howard's son... but
that's got nothing to do with who I am. I'd rather be a student of Saikyo
than learn from that bastard who calls himself my father."

COMBATSYS: Rock focuses on his next action.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////                       ]
Rock             0/-------/=======|=======\=------\1              Dan

Dan comes up in yet another roll, keeping his distance from Rock, He raises
an eyebrow at the kid's retort, beaming. "Well, now! You do have talent,
I'll grant that, so if you want to be my student...we can work something
out. But this fight is nowhere near over! It's only over when you're out
cold!" Dan rolls once more...and -this- time, he aims directly for Rock, a
pink ball of destruction. When he gets close enough, he unfolds to a
kneeling position once more. His intent is not to taunt this time, however,
as becomes -very- clear in a split second--he kicks off from the ground,
launching himself into a leaping uppercut. "KOURYUKEN!"

COMBATSYS: Rock dodges Dan's Kouryuken.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////                       ]
Rock             0/-------/=======|=======\=------\1              Dan

"You know what? You've earned my respect. I think you're /crazy/, but hey,
some of the coolest guys are. You've got balls bigger than your brains, and
that's fine in my book." As Dan launches himself at Rock, the blonde
teenager leaps backwards, floating neatly out of the way of the attack.
"Don't feel too bad about getting your ass kicked -- You did pretty well!"
With Dan in the air, Rock aims to follow him right back up, hitting the
ground and leaping upwards as his palm slams against the floor. Revolving
around and around as he practically flies straight up, Rock trains his foot
on Dan's face, hoping to end the fight with one finishing stroke. "RISING
TACKLE!"

COMBATSYS: Dan interrupts Rising Tackle from Rock with Chouhatsu Densetsu.

[        \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////                          ]
Rock             1/-------/=======|===----\-------\0              Dan

As Dan reaches the pinnacle of his jump, however, he doesn't appear as
vulnerable as he might. With a cry of "YAHOO!" a slight sheen of chi sparks
around him. Moving faster than he has before, he pulls his legs up to his
chest. Rather than Rock's kick meeting Dan's face, it instead slams into
Dan's feet, pushing him up to the ceiling. Arms outstretched, Dan manages to
catch himself, though getting his shoulders thudded into the ceiling ain't
gonna do him any good. With his Saikyo-enhanced adrenaline state, Dan
doesn't seem to notice, and instead slips out from between a Rock and a hard
place, pushing off towards the floor again. He curls into a ball once more
on the way, shouting "Oraoraoraoraoraoraora!" After landing from the dive,
he comes up again, shaking his manly forearm at Rock once more. "YATTA ZE!
You can't catch me!" He rolls backward, coming up to his feet and sticking
his hand out in a V-sign at the cameras. "YOUSH! Dan Hibiki does not lose!"
Doing a backflip over a table in the middle of the floor, he lands and
throws his arms up in the air, tears running down his cheeks. "OYAJII! I'll
make you proud of me!" All this is done in the space of a couple seconds as
Rock makes his own landing.

Okay. What the fuck was that?
Somehow, Dan wasn't unconscious. And he... well, Rock honestly has no idea
what that entire taunting thing was. It was, however, extremely manly --
Manly enough to give even Rock pause, as he gapes at Dan's sheer courage and
confidence. "... Man, this is like kicking a puppy. Look, pal, I don't know
how you wound up in this tournament, but I'm sorry about this. Hope it
doesn't sting too bad!" Not delaying a second further, Rock winds up for
what looks like one tremendous punch, before he explodes forward with
impossible speed, one elbow leading the charge. Glowing with purple chi,
Rock glides fast over the lobby floor, hoping to bring this battle to a
close with one more blow.

COMBATSYS: Dan fails to interrupt Hard Edge from Rock with Kyuukyoku Tenchi Gadou Zuki.
COMBATSYS: Dan can no longer fight.
COMBATSYS: Dan has left the fight here.

Dan just laughs at Rock's pitiful assumption. "Just be careful I don't sting
you back!" Rather than running, for the third time tonight he displays his
incredible courage by charging directly AT Rock, launching a fist forward.
"Instant Hell Murder Hyper Ultra Saikyo Death Fist!" Somehow, someway, he
manages to get that out in the space of half a second as the two fighters
rush each other. When they collide, there's an incredible burst of light,
the meeting of two powerful forces coming together as Dan's fist meets
Rock's elbow. When the light fades, however, one fighter is standing...and
it isn't Dan. The Saikyo master is now halfway across the lobby, sprawled
over a couch...and he's not getting up this time.

With that finally out of the way, Rock looks over the fallen Dan, shaking
his head from side to side in front of the cameras, all of which focus
squarely on them. "... Great. Now I can finally get back to business.
But..." With the fight declared over, news crews begin to rush the arena as
Rock simply begins to stalk off, apparently eager to leave for more
comfortable surroundings as he continues to mutter to himself on his way
out. "... Why do I feel like I didn't win, after all?
