First Tourney - [Upper:R3B1] Charlie vs Kyo

Description: The final tournament match between Charlie and Kyo is... forfeited? A new challenger has entered the ring! (Winner: Charlie, by default)

Howard Arena

Cavernous and huge, Howard Arena is the epicenter of public display
within Southtown. A multi-billion dollar venture by Geese Howard, the arena
paid for itself within the first two years. The enormous arena is able to
seat hundreds of thousands for any variety of spectacle--the most common of
which being sports, concerts, and of course, martials arts competition. The
latter has made Howard Arena famous, as it hosts various tournaments and
exhibitions each year.

There's only one primary arena, and every effort has been made to make it
impressive. The overall atmosphere of the arena is that of solemn magnitude.
Thousands of seats ring the main central stage, the front row seats dropping
to eyelevel of the flat stage. The stage sits in a large depression, with
enough space between it and the seats to allow for trainers, officials, and
other such people to run back and forth. These and exits in the stands lead
off to countless corridors for spectators and competitors to travel in and
out with ease. Naturally enough, these corridors are filled with vendors,
peddling everything from food to Ralf-style bandanas to authentic Mai
Shiranui thongs.

The stage itself is a massive rectangular block of stone. Six-inch thick
flat slate tiles cover a much harder core of reinforced granite, giving the
stage the look of a weathered, timeless mountaintop. Stairs on opposite sides
provide a dignified way for the fighters to approach the center, the stairs
appearing to be carved directly into the rock. Here, some truly spectacular
battles are fought under the eyes of an entire city and, indeed, the world.

"WELCOME TO THE HOWARD ARENA TOURNAMENT -FINALS!- ALRIGHT! THIS BATTLE IS
ABOUT TO EXPLODE!"

The annoying PA announcer seems particularly excited for this fight, and why
shouldn't he? The infamous King of Fighters, who breezed through the upper
bracket of the tournament to get here, versus one of the champions of
American martial arts and the dark horse entry into the tournament. The
former is still riding high on his miraculous comeback victory against Billy
Kane, while the latter has been idle, waiting to see who his opponent would
be in the finals.

The roar of the crowd is deafening, even now before the fight, the
atmosphere; positively electric. For his part, Kyo Kusanagi isn't late to
this fight, he stands in the center of the conrete fighting surface, a
gentle breeze lapping at his clothes and hair, rustling them backwards. His
eyes are closed.

No sound marks Charlie's arrival, this time.  He arrives- strangely enough-
barefoot, walking calmly into the arena, and putting his glasses and palm
pilot squarely in his pocket.  He walks to the fighting area of the Arena
quickly, with quite the sense of purpose.  He's been given quite the second
chance here; he'd better make it count.  He plants his feet firmly, and nods
to Kyo, before saying a single word.  "Hello."

"Sup?" replies Kyo. His eyelids open slowly, regarding Charlie with the
penetrating stare of a fighter trying to gauge the abilities of his
opponent; while Kyo beat Charlie pretty badly, who knows what new inner
strength the American has gained during the course of this tournament?
Anything could happen.

"I'm doing well, all things considered.  And yourself?"  Nash seems to be
sizing him up in much the same manner; he knows not to 'misunderestimate'
him, now that he's seen what the boy can do at least once.  Indeed, anything
could happen; and if it happens, the former Air Force commander intends to
be more than ready for that eventuality.

Kyo takes his gloved hands out of his pant pockets. The staredown commences.
That same strange breeze blowing over the flats of the arena floor, carrying
with it a few leaves that float across the ring between Kyo and Charlie. The
arena goes silent, such that you could practically hear a pin drop, the
tension building, and building, and building. Finally, the deathly quiet is
broken: Kyo cracks a bit of a smirk, and says quietly, "I didn't come here
to fight you. Sorry."

Charlie just sort of... stares, for a moment, before blinking a few times
and giving Kyo a slightly confused look.  "I'm... not entirely sure that
what I think you're saying is true," he replies, taking his glasses back
out.  "Are you saying you're just going to not fight entirely, or are you
merely going to pull your punches or something of the sort?"

Ken just folds his arms as he watches from a VIP box.  Ken is loaded, which
means Ken gets the good seats.  Hrmming with a small smile, he finally gets
to see Kyo and Charlie go against one another... Time to see where Ken
stands once more.  His wife is next to him... Holding his young son in her
arms.  Aww.... It's a family thing.

"...This is the only way I could think of to do this. Like I said, sorry."
Kyo looks down at the smooth granite floor of the ring, brown hair hanging
down in his face and obscuring his eyes. Flames on his right hand flicker to
life, eventually engulfing it. "These flames... these flames of mine are
special, OK? They're property of the Kusanagi, they represent us and our
history..." he tilts his head back up to look at Charlie, holding his fiery
palm out towards his opponent, "And I'm not going to just sit back and allow
people to steal my flames, OR my history!!" With that, Kyo spins around
while simutaniously lashing out his his burning hand, shooting a lance of
those crimson flames.... into the crowd?! A chorus of screams echos
throughout the arena, but there really isn't time to react to the attack.
The stream of fire strikes upon the bleachers... hitting and singing to a
crisp only but an empty seat. The ONLY empty seat in the sold-out Howard
Arena.

Another champion stands inside the Arena, as the blast of flame erupts.  Ryu
just shakes his head and crosses his arms... keeping an eye out for trouble.
A smile crosses his face as he catches a glimpse of Ken in the VIP boxes...
too bad he's here to watch for Geese.

After the light bit of vague smalltalk, the sound goes completely dead for a
second. That is, until Kyo suddenly starts taunting some mysterious person,
and then sending a huge blast of fire towards the crowd. For a moment, all
hell breaks loose. The crowds look around in panic. Has he gone crazy? No...
That's not it. He's doing this for a reason. He could sense someone here.
The very same could be said about that someone, as he can sense the presence
of the warrior through means other than spotlights and camera.

The man next to the open seat seems to break out of his fearful trance as he
notices something. ... There was someone sitting there. But he simply...
vanished. This certainly didn't ease his fears, however. The crowd starts
murmuring among themselves. That is, until they hear the loud sound of
footsteps echo through the entire arena. The crowd is ghastly quiet. Could
this place be haunted? ... Doubtful. But the thought crosses a few minds.
That is... until they see /him/.

Walking down the entryway from Kyo's side is a single man, clad in only
leather. There is no theme music, no cheering. Just pure amazement. One
would wonder how he got past all the rent-a-cops, but the common conception
sends waves of fear through the audience. Clad in all leather, wearing a
pair of shades on his eyes, and a red glove on his right hand, the young man
walks slowly and casually up to stage. He takes a moment to spit on the
ground, before stepping in and watching Kyo through his shades. He doesn't
say anything. He merely remains silent, sizing up the man who called him.
Then, in the next momoent, he takes off his shades, puts them in the inside
pocket of his leather jacket, and grins, before briefly holding out his
right hand. The wolvish grin stays as suddenly, his right hand begins to
emit... The Flames of the Kusanagi?! The crowd stands, amazed, before the
strange newcomer finally speaks. "... Trying to dig up the past?"

The organizers of the Howard Enterprises Tournament freak out at Kyo's
behavior, the refs quickly disqualify Kyo, bells ring, signalling the
fight's over. Charlie wins. The crowd gasps in amazement and shock, not only
at the quick resolution to the scheduled matchup between Charlie and Kyo,
but the strange newcomer making his way to the stage! Security guards come
out of the woodwork, rushing at K' from all sides, but they wisely skid to a
halt once the leather-clad man starts driving up crimson flames on his
gloved hand. Kyo turns towards K', all the announcements of disqualification
and losing are simply lost on him; all his attention is on K'. "So, you're
the guy...." he says through gritted teeth, and although he tries to act
tough, it's hard to conceal the shock in the Kusanagi's heir's voice

As the refs run up and disqualify Kyo, K' can't help but feel a bit of
respect from the 'original'. He sacrificed the championship just for the
opportunity to face K'. And ditching a tournament for valid reasons scores
respect from the silver-haired man. Still holding the flames within his
hand, he takes a sideglance at the security guards. There was no doubt in
his mind that this was not going to be a fight without sacrifices. Whatever
the outcome, he is bound to be restrained. But it couldn't be anything worse
than being held by them. K' didn't care about consequence right now. All he
cared about were answers. He digs his legs in and lifts his arms into his
peculiar fighting stance. The grin on his face changes to a look of
determination. "... The people that have told you are worthless piles of
scum. But like I care. Show me the strength of what they meant me to be!"
Sounds like a challenge, if the audience ever heard one. This one's going to
take QUITE a bit to restrain.

COMBATSYS: K' has started a fight here.

Crimson flames, identical to K's, erupt from Kyo's hand as well, seemingly
of their own accord, as "the original" stares down this freakish new entity
who has somehow stolen the powers of his bloodline. Kyo smirks, his dominant
air still not dampened by this new opponent, "I don't know how you got my
flames, and to tell you the truth I don't care; I'll beat them out of you
all the same... You wanna see power?!" The tone of his voice raises and
raises, Kyo's fiery temper starting to override his normally carefree
demeanor, "...I'll show it to you with this..." he holds up his blazing hand
and clenches it into a fist, then, without warning he breaks into a dash
towards K', lashing out with a furious flaming punch! "....THE FIST OF THE
KUSANAGI!!"

COMBATSYS: Kyo has joined the fight here.

Ryu stares as the events occur... not sure what to think of this as the
events unfold.  Ryu glances back and forth between K' and Kyo.  Ryu looks up
at Ken's box... and then back at the middle of the arena.  Even Ryu isn't
gonna step between these two... unless he needs to.

COMBATSYS: K' blocks Kyo's Aragami.

Kyo              0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0               K'

Ken just watches still.  His eyes seem trained on what has happened.  Eliza
looks up, showing some concern as he craddles Mel closer to her brest.  She
looks at her husband, the blond battler looking back at her.  Like some
close couples, they have a conversation with eyes alone before Ken looks
toward the fighting again, just removing his cell, wallet, and his watch to
place in his chair.  Ryu isn't noted yet... The crowds and the fighting
stealing Ken's attention away from his good friend and brother in all but
blood.

The Beast of Fire can't help but be a little disappointed at the lack of
common sense in most fighters. But... well, he was never impressed with most
fighters in the first place. Despite sensing the Kusanagi Heir's attack, he
lifts his arm to block the punch, leaving his forearm singed from the fiery
attack. K' had a distinct feeling that Kyo didn't quite realize who he was
dealing with, yet. But it was typical. He's got a body that looks somewhat
weak, and he's far less than known. However, the odds wouldn't stop K'. He
needed answers, and he's not about to stand by until he gets them. As Kyo
finishes his attack, K' attempts to push Kyo's fist away, trying to buy time
for his next attack. In the next moment, he frees his right arm, snaps his
finger, and sets a blazing ring of fire towards Kyo, moving in a circular
motion for a few seconds. But he doesn't stop there. K' then lifts his leg
upwards with incredible speed. The length of his leg goes almost completely
vertical, and the fire ring that K' created follows with the same speed.
"Come on! You can do better than that!" He nearly screams, as he makes his
first attack.

COMBATSYS: K' successfully hits Kyo with Second Shell.

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////////////////////////////  ]
Kyo              0/-------/-----==|=------\-------\0               K'

Kyo narrows his eyes as his flaming punch is shunted aside and absorbed by K
Dash, "Blocked it, huh!" The deflected Aragami leaves him open for just a
brief moment, but K' manages to take advantage of it, first burning Kyo near
his midsection, then sending a quick snap-kick into his jaw. Kyo swiftly
backpedals a few steps, surprised but not particularly hurt; he's still
feeling out this strange new opponent. .oO(He kicked the flame at me? What
kind of guy...) Kyo feints making another shufflestep backwards, then
instantly springs forward on his back foot, aiming a vicious roundhouse at
K's chin, his leg making after-images in his wake. He's not pulling any
punches; any trained fighter watching this melee can tell.

COMBATSYS: K' dodges Kyo's Strong Kick.

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////////////////////////////  ]
Kyo              0/-------/-----==|=------\-------\0               K'

Fortunately, pulling punches is a concept K' has never used. A fight against
K' is a guarantee that someone is about to get hurt. He doesn't showboat. He
doesn't focus on his technique. He just flat out -fights-. Immediately after
the flames dissipate and Kyo is sent backwards, K' puts his hands in his
jacket pocket. Almost immediately afterwards, Kyo sends a kick straight
towards his face. But the Kusanagi 'clone' seems to be a particularly good
reader. Of course, he has quite a bit of knowledge of Kyo's technique, as
the corporation with whom he was with seemed to make him do his homework.
With his hands still in his pockets, K' bends backwards, the fierce kick
just BARELY missing the connection. The kick was fierce enough to send K''s
hair blowing to the side. However, K' doesn't take any time with his
assault. His left hand reaches out of his pocket as he attempts to strike
Kyo with a left cross to the face. It's not particularly fast, but not
particularly strong, but it serves it's purpose.

COMBATSYS: Kyo dodges K''s Medium Punch.

Kyo steps forward right after his foot lands from his previous attack. It
seemingly invites him to be hit really hard, but Kyo turns it into an
advantage: He quickly pivots his entire body to the left right before K's
counter attack, leaving the silver-haired fighter's body vulnerable, "Body
ga ameze!!" Kyo lifts his arms above K's still outstretched arm, clenches
one fist in the other, and attempts to bash his elbow into the leather-bound
fighter's nose at close-range. Ow.

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits K' with Medium Punch.

Kyo              0/-------/-----==|===----\-------\0               K'

Well, it seems it's the King of Fighters champion after all! The elbow most
certainly connects, and K' is sent recoiling backwards. The taunts are
another trademark of the Kusanagi. After K' is able to get his bearings
back, he takes both hands out of his pockets. But he doesn't hesitate for a
moment. He takes a few quick steps forward before hopping forward into the
air, sending a huge kick towards Kyo with his right foot. Should the hit
connect with the full force, it would definitely send Kyo a bit of a way
back. Of course, K' could very well still be in the air following him,
considering how much force he's probably using.

COMBATSYS: K' successfully hits Kyo with Narrow Spike.

[       \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////////////////////////      ]
Kyo              0/-------/---====|====---\-------\0               K'

Kyo grins as his elbow strike hits the mark, but is caught in K's big kick
just a few seconds later; Kyo didn't anticipate his opponent and the "thief"
of his bloodline flames would recover so quickly, and is thus send flying
back a short distance by the kick. He's not the King of Fighters of nothing
though: Kyo lands on his feet and skids backwards. As soon as the soles of
his shoes stop sliding on the smooth granite, he launches off them, arm
extended towards K', another elbow strike!

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits K' with Koto Moon Positive.

Kyo              0/-------/--=====|=======\-------\1               K'

This... certainly isn't a positive result. K' is satisfied that he connected
with the attack. But he doesn't have much success in evading the
counterattack. In doing this, he attempts to use another strategy. His image
fades to black for a moment and even flickers out. But he doesn't move fast
enough. He's struck with the elbow quite hard to the gut. But that's not the
end of the attack. He's lifted into the air, and then blasted with the very
flames that he possesses. Sent backwards a good distance, he curses his own
ability. This isn't a man to be underestimated. Instead of sprawling over
the concrete, he manages to flip himself backwards in mid-air. As he lands
and regains his balance he... does nothing. Nothing, except taking his right
hand and lifting it outwards for a moment. The Kusanagi flames ignite once
again, and still, he stands there. He seems to not be doing anything. But
this is by far not something to be taken lightly. Most opponents get
unnerved and make a move. When, in fact, that just happens to be their
biggest mistake.

COMBATSYS: K' successfully hits Kyo with Heat Drive.

[               \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////////////////              ]
Kyo              1/------=/=======|-------\-------\0               K'

Kyo blows K' away, washing his flames all over his opponent, then stands,
watching the cyberpunk manage to regain his balance in mid-air. He has some
skill, that's for sure, but what else can be expected from one who somehow,
someway, has the Kusanagi flames? Kusanagi's eyes narrow, the last licks of
flame around his hand from the Koto Moon technique drifting off into
nothingness. "Thought I was just doing another elbow strike? Sloppy..." he
taunts, "...weak fighters have no business using the Kusanagi flame." A few
tense moments pass... Kyo's eyes go wide, "What?!" he barely has time to
ask, before K' practically goes right THROUGH him. One moment the
leather-clad fighter is there, next he's vanished. K' appears well behind
Kyo, or should it be below? Whatever attack that was, it sent Kyo soaring
into the air whilst on fire, landing shortly after with a sickening thwump,
cracking the rocky surface of the arena.

The crowd gasps, most of them weren't even able to see K's attack, even Kyo
could barely register the speed at which K' dashed at him, and certainly not
in time to put together any sort of defense. It takes the Kusanagi warrior a
few seconds before he kippups back to his feet, whereupon he wipes off a
trickle of blood coming from his mouth. Another stiff breeze rips through
the Howard Arena, buffeting both fighters. "You may have my flames," Kyo
asserts, all while a small circle of fire starts to form on the ground
around him, "...but you still don't have any STYLE!" So Kyo'll show him what
that is: He twists his body around until his back is turned towards K', the
flames encircling him roar upwards, blowing his clothes and hair around.
Before K' will have an idea of what he's doing, the unnamed reverse style
#182's attack executes. Kyo unwinds himself, taking a huge step forwards and
unleashing a punch that can only be described as "bulwark-cracking," with a
hellish amount of charged power and momentum behind it, "Kore de... KIMERU
DE!!" As if it weren't bad enough, the punch is topped off with a massive
explosion of Kusanagi flame that bathes the entire arena in it's crimson
glow!

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits K' with 182 Shiki.

Kyo              0/-------/-------|=====--\-------\0               K'

Hopefully the previous attack has taught the King of Fighters to assume a
bit less. Still, the fight was a close one. However, K' had absolutely no
intention of letting up anytime soon. K' looks rather disinterested as Kyo
continues his taunting. Of course, Kyo is too smart of a fighter to just
trash talk. As Kyo prepares a dangerous attack of his own. This time,
however, K' seems very oddly... accepting. With his hands at his side,
drumming his legs. So this is the powers given to him... Of course, K'
definitely doesn't expect such an attack coming at him. With the huge punch,
K' is sent flying backwards. This time, he hits the ground with another
sickening thud. The damage to the ring has grown quite extensive. The crowd
shocks in amazement as they see the extent of power between these two
fighters. K' lies still for a moment, before peeling himself off of the
ground. As he lifts himself up, the confident smirk appears upon him once
again. "You talk too damn much.' He offers, in a calm tone. But right after
the statement, K' is running towards Kyo. With alarming speed, he's right
next to Kyo within seconds. He skids to an almost-halt before he lifts his
right hand into the air, the Holy Flames following his arm. However, this
isn't a simple uppercut. The force of the attack actually carries K' upward.
Should it connect, K' usually adds a sharp kick downwards, almost dunking
his opponent into the floor. When you're doing this well on pure instinct,
who needs style?

COMBATSYS: Kyo fails to counter Claw Bites from K' with Nue Tsumi.

[                      \\\\\\\\  < >  //////                        ]
Kyo              0/-------/----===|======-\-------\0               K'

Kyo grimaces, .oO(Fast) Too fast, in fact; Kyo is launched upwards into the
air yet again. He doesn't even get to land on his feet, K' makes sure that
his path back down to the ground is a rough one, sending him careening
downwards into the ring. That'll be another crater in Geese's expensive
ring, this one making a large cloud of dust from all the smashed rock,
obscuring Kyo.

Experiencing a more pleasant return trip, K' manages to stop for a moment
and grin. "Listen to your own advice sometime." He offers, in a mocking
tone. He stands still for a moment, focusing back into the fight. But all of
the sudden, the clone is once again in motion. He shows just how strong he
can be without using the Kusanagi flame. He stops just before Kyo, and then
suddenly, he leans in with what looks like a punch to the chest. However, he
stops once more, before focusing his energy. And then, he lets loose. This
attack is usually quite effective, but the cloud of dust has somewhat
obscured the leather-clad Beast of Fire, as well. It just may miss...

COMBATSYS: K' successfully hits Kyo with One Inch.

Kyo              0/-------/--=====|=======\-------\1               K'

The punch staggers Kyo, and the nice placement of it forces him to spit up a
clot of blood. The force of the blow's impact is such that it actually blows
some of the dust cloud in the air away. Kyo wobbles backwards, silently
cursing himself for underestimating this guy, he can tell from the message
his body is sending that he's on his last legs, but that doesn't stop him
from driving up the flames in both of his hands. He crosses his arms and
separates his legs, pushing his lineage's power to the maximum, "I won't
lose here..." he growls, "I CAN'T lose here, jerk!" And so he finds the
strength to lunge at K', his whole body practically aflame now, with another
combination of explosive punches. A desperate attack, perhaps a final
attack.
Kyo says, "KURAE!!"

COMBATSYS: K' blocks Kyo's Dokugami.

Kyo              0/-------/-======|=======\=------\1               K'

K' acts as if he hasn't even heard what his opponent said. He's definitely
focused, right now. This next round of attacks decides it. K' is hit by the
first punch, spitting blood out as he's hit square in the jaw. However, he
manages to block and parry the rest of the blows. It's obvious that this
fight is drawing to a close. However, K''s vicious fighting style and
tenacity have paid off. It SEEMS he has the upper hand. But this match could
definitely go anywhere. He once again snaps his fingers and his hand starts
burning. Standing there for a slight second, before using that same attack
he used before. Combining his speed, his balance, and his power as equally
as the Kusanagi flames, it should become apparent to the world that K' is
NOT the same as Kyo. If this punch lands, this might make a huge ripple
effect in the fighting world as we know it. Even if he doesn't connect, it
will still have a huge impact on the world.

COMBATSYS: Kyo dodges K''s Heat Drive.

Kyo              0/-------/-======|=------\-------\0               K'

Kyo growls in frustration as his chain attack is adapted to and broken up by
K', that should have been the end of the fight, but instead he allows the
guy to keep on fighting. What IS it about this guy? Does he intend to change
history? As K' stands there, the heir to the Kusanagi lineage knows what's
coming next, he can't get hit with this, can't even allow this to touch him,
or it's all over. Kyo squints, trying to focus, find the attack's weak
point.... K' dissapears. "THERE!" Kyo sidesteps, though it looks like he
didn't have time to do more than practically throw all his weight over to
one side since he becomes off-balance and planted on only one foot. However,
the sloppy dodge works, K' re-appears right where Kyo was, wide open.
"Reshiki ga chiga un da yo..." Kyo says. And with that he cocks back a fist,
and aims at K's cheek.

COMBATSYS: K' dodges Kyo's Aragami.

Albeit mildly surprised he missed, K' doesn't falter in the slightest. Kyo
Kusanagi truly was the King of Fighters. It was an incredible match. K'
seemed to be enjoying it. Even though he hates such trivial things. He's
wide open, yes, but K' definitely still has a trick up his sleeve. As Kyo
approaches, K' seems to slide... no... more like GLIDE forward. Flickering
black, he moves at a speed unseen by human eyes. As he reappears, he's right
behind Kyo. Yes, K' is pretty damn fast. As he reappears he quickly raises
an elbow, before dropping it sharply down, hopefully hitting Kyo in the back
of the neck.

COMBATSYS: Kyo dodges K''s Medium Punch.

Does it land? Does the match finally end? Yes, and no. The elbow attack
strikes Kyo's palm, somehow he managed to intercept the elbow despite K's
inhuman speed. They hold the akward pose for a minute, Kyo's smiling too, a
good fight, despite his burning need to beat this guy and get some answers.
"Stop trying to be so cool," Kyo clenches down on the elbow, trying to hold
K' in place so that one of his legs can mule kick the guy right in the gut.

COMBATSYS: K' blocks Kyo's Light Kick.

.. This is the moment of truth. No, really. We mean it this time. If one
attack misses, the other will surely follow and HOPEFULLY be successful. K'
manages to lift a leg and stop the effect from being too serious. However,
K' seems incredibly determined right now. To deal with the elbow, he uses a
very unorthodox maneuver. He rolls sideways over the Kusanagi heir's body,
breaking his elbow free. As he finishes his roll he lands on his feet and
sets up a vicious uppercut, connect Kyo possibly twice from the chest to the
jaw.

COMBATSYS: Kyo counters Fierce Punch from K' with Nue Tsumi.

speaks, "...going..." flames drive up from the hands clenching at K' "...to
lose to you, JERK!" With that, Kyo spins his opponent to the ground in a
Judo-type burden throw manuever and a burst of flames, likely the last bit
of strength in his body.

From the counter, K' finally falls to his knees. He ... lost? K' had a
feeling this was coming. "Not... yet..." Slumping to the ground, he seems
far too weak to do anything but... lie there. The crowd is still silent from
the shocking display of power from a man they've never even heard of.
However, before Kyo can push the answers that he wanted so desperately,
chaos already ensues. Incredibly suspicious people start moving towards the
ring. But faster than all of them is a big, burly red-headed Canadian man.
He comes to the ring from seemingly nowhere, and taps Kyo on the shoulder.
"If you don't mind, I'll be taking the boy, now." He says in a calm voice.
command, but Kyo was in no position to bargain, right now. "... I know
you're seeking answers, Kyo Kusanagi. But this is not the place. We talk
here, then both you, I, and everyone you ever care about will be in danger.
I'm a man of my honor, however, and though it may not look like it the kid
is, as well. He's just none too interesting to talk to. The answers will
come. ... In shorter time than you think." And with that, he scoops up K''s
body up and walks away, before throwing in a towel for his partner. Though
if Kyo takes the time to look at the towel, he would find it includes a
date, a place, and a time, along with the words 'WE ARE NOT YOUR ENEMY.'
drawn on them with marker.

Kyo regards all of Maxima's comments coldly, but he too notices the
shady-looking characters advancing on the ring, eyes moving from side to
side. "Whatever..." he murmurs, still breathing hard. He had to expend
maximum effort that fight, he doubts he could even light someone's cigarette
with his flames right about now. And so Maxima takes off, K' in tow, leaving
Kyo in the center of the annihilated ring, looking down at the words printed
on the rag, then at his open, gloved hand. "We'll see..." he starts to limp
away, grabbing the towel en route and leaving the stunned crowd. They
certainly didn't think they'd see something like this today. The cold breeze
kicks up again, sweeping over the now empty fighting platform.
