PPV Chaos - Daigo vs Kelvin and Dan

Description: An unlikely teamup between Dan Hibiki and a neophyte grappler leads to a nail-biting conclusion against the Gedo Boss. (Winner: Daigo)

The harbor area, which is normally filled only with workers and people of
less moral character, is today packed to the brim with citizens, tourists,
and kids skipping class. They surround a roped-off square area in the
largest clearing, one side of which is pressed up against a warehouse wall.
The air is abuzz with shouts and excited talk, which only grows as cameras
set up...and then it falls dead.

A lone figure walks out to the center of the arena; a snappily dressed man
in shades holding a microphone. He surveys the crowd for a moment, looking
immensely pleased. After a suitably long period of time, he holds up the
mic. "LADIES! AND! GENTLEMEN! Welcome to the first fight of CHAOS!" The
crowd roars, eager and ready. "Glad to hear it! We're going to start these
coming days off with a bang, and a two versus one match! The two fighters
who have joined up for this match could not be any more different! One's a
young kid, new to the fighting scene but we're sure to see some talent
there! The other's a veteran fighter, one of Southtown's most visible
personalities! I give you Kelvin Anderson and Dan Hibiki!"

So, this is what a real, publicized fight is like?  It's almost overwhelming
for the young Kelvin, but he does his best to supress it and make his way
out into the central arena.  Rather than be entirely focused, his eyes drift
across all the people that have assembled, wondering whether all his
'training' will have paid off.  Before he can really ponder it too much,
though, he's out in the open.  A deep breath is taken, before he continues
on his way; it's just a matter of staying relaxed.  He does spare one final
glance aside, expecting to find his teammate there..somebody that, unlike
him, does have a reputation.  "It'd have been nice to get to speak with him
first," he muses, silently, "But it was all going on so fast." Obviously, he
doesn't quite realize.. ..well, it's Dan.

Damn right it's Dan. There's no need for any pre-fight talks. Saikyo will
see them to victory! Speaking of which...
"YAHOOOIE!" With the bang of a foot on metal, a pink soaring eagle of
triumph leaps from the top of the warehouse! The Saikyo master curls up into
a ball, spinning around at the apex of his leap, and unfolds just as he
begins to fall.  He lands...surprisingly lightly, though he does fall into a
crouch before catching himself. Not put out in the least, Dan simply springs
to his feet with a glowing smile at the crowd. With a thrust of his arm and
his fingers splayed in a V, he shouts, "SAIKYO IS HERE!" The Dan supporters
(don't laugh, there's some in every crowd) go wild at this. For the moment,
Dan doesn't even appear to notice Kelvin.

"..Ah-heh. Yes." The announcer's countenance slips, but only a moment passes
before he's back into the swing of things. "And now, the fighter who's
braving these tough odds! He's grown up on the rough streets and back
alleys, beating up any punk who gets in his way. And now he's ready to take
on these two. We have none other than the notorious Gedo gang leader
himself...DAIGO KAZAMAAAA!"

Notorious indeed.  Daigo's done more for this city than the media will ever
let known!  Tonight, that doesn't matter.  There's a fight to be had, and
since the Gedo Boss has gone through the trouble of signing up for it, he
might as well get with the program.  There's no acrobatics, no dramatic
entrance, Dai Kazama simply walks into the roped off ring, the various
cheers and jeers seeming to fall on deaf ears.  When Dai sets in for a
fight, there's no showcasing.  He's just here to beat people up...  One
glance to the crowd is all he spares, before going to his corner, and
crossing his arms over his chest to wait for the start of the match,
silently studying his opposition.  Dan, he's heard of.  The kid, he hasn't.
..The Saikyo Kid, and his sidekick!

Kelvin gawks just a bit at Dan's entrance.. ..since he acts as though he's
already won.  "Maybe that's half the battle," he reflects, half daydreaming
already, "..Or just a lack of caution?"  Guess we're getting ready to find out!
It's not so suprising that very few people seem to cheer on the rookie as
he continues on his way, stepping up to Dan, yet keeping his distance; maybe
a few of the spectators that don't have money to lose on bets, and are
rooting for the underdog.  "Uhm.. ..Dan," he speaks up, though it might be
hard to hear under the low rumble, "My name's Kelvin." However, he allows
himself to cut the introduction short, both realizing that things are about
to start, and to turn and gaze upon the challenger.  This Daigo has
very..determined eyes.  Even without knowledge of his accomplishments, it'd
be apparent that he's not one to take lightly.

Dan blinks once, his revelry in the noise of the crowd cutting short as
Kelvin steps up to him. He cocks his head, then beams toothily at the kid.
"So you're my partner, huh?" With a hearty slap on the back, Dan continues,
"Well, you've got nothing to worry about, my boy! With the ultimate power of
the ancient art of Saikyo on our side, nothing will stop us! Just follow my
lead, and we'll have it in the bag!" As Daigo enters the ring, Dan turns to
him, giving him a polite, if quick, bow. He looks entirely too eager to
start the match.

Yeah, yeah, bow, bow.  Daigo returns Dan's quick bow, his studious gaze
never quite leaving those marked as his 'opponents' for the evening.  He
finds it odd that he, of all people, would be the one placed in a
handicapped match, but...  That must just mean the reward's that much more
interesting to the winner(s), eh?  The bow completed, Daigo stands straight,
cracks his knuckles, and glances to the announcer.  "...Great.  Everybody's
here.  Let's do it."

Amidst the roar of the crowd, the announcer's voice filters through: "Let
the CHAOS...begin!" And with that signal for the fight to start, the
announcer is -out- of the ring. No need to get his snappy suit all mussed
up. There's the cue, guys, let the games begin!

Foolishly optimistic or not, it's hard not to like Dan.  That support brings
a subtle hint of a smile to Kelvin's face..huh, why does he look like he's
about to nod off at a moment's notice?  Not enough sleep last night before
the big battle?  "Okay," he replies, giving a forward nod of his head.  The
disciple of Saikyo is the senior combatant here, so there's not much room
for question..respecting one's elders and all that.  After the 'plan' is
set, and names and tidings are exchanged, Kelvin turns to prepare himself to
enter the great unknown..against a man that looks like he could break him
several times over.  Gulp.  Looks like it's time.

Dan falls into the classic Ansatsuken fighting stance, bouncing on the balls
of his feet. "I couldn't agree more, Daigo!" At the announcer's words, Dan
lets out a "ORAAAAAAA!" and bounds forward. He leaps into the air, soaring
in a narrow arc toward Daigo, his foot outstretched in a classic jumpkick.
Dan's been cooped up in his dojo for too long, it seems; he's ready and
rarin' to go.

COMBATSYS: Dan has started a fight here.

Over in the crowd, the Dan supporters cheer wildly. Yes. There are Dan
supporters. For example, there's the slightly-built Chinese guy in the black
silk shirt, drinking from a paper cup of orange soda with a traditional
plastic straw. As Lei Jian watches Dan leap into action, his jaw drops. Such
power.  Such spirit. Then his soda drops too, splashing all over the ground,
as well as the shoes and pants legs of a few other annoyed spectators. Jian
blinks, once, twice, three times. Then he cracks up laughing, pumping a
clenched fist into the air. Throwing his head back, he cheers, "SAIIIIIKYO
BANZAI!"

Ah, a new convert to the one true faith.

COMBATSYS: Daigo has joined the fight here.
COMBATSYS: Kelvin has joined the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Daigo blocks Dan's Medium Kick.

Let the games begin.

Such spirit!  Such rage!  ...Really Dan looks like he might've swallowed one
too many jumping beans before the match.  Daigo's first reaction to Dan
jumping out at him with that one foot aimed at his rough'n tough body?  To
lift one arm, and block the blow!  Trained muscles absorb most of the shock,
Dai giving perhaps a soft grunt.  "Nice kick..." the Gedo Boss comments,
smirking out the corner of his mouth, before his other, un-kicked arm lashes
out in a quick jab for the Saikyo Artist.  As though trying to swat him out
of the air!

Kelvin's battle entrance is a lot less dramatic.  In fact, he doesn't seem
to change much at all, calmly stepping up to the fight proper with just a
slightly more hurried pace.  It's hard to tell at a glance if he's feeling
way out of his element, or if he's just got this 'zen thing' going on.
Quite possibly, it's more of a combination of the two.  Yet.. ..if he's ever
going to prove himself..  Regardless, his not-so-urgent surge into the fight
brings him up to Daigo, where he attempts to subtly take advantage of his
preoccupation with Dan's incoming attack with a quick grappling motion.
Nothing too fancy here, yet.

COMBATSYS: Dan blocks Daigo's Jab Punch.

Dan brings his other leg up just in time to catch Daigo's snap-punch, the
force of which lets him kick off and hop over Kelvin as the kid comes in.
Dan begins circling Daigo as he waits for an opening--he's self-centered,
but not to such an extent that he'll punk Kelvin too--with a grin on his
face. This is gonna be fun, taking the mountain down.

COMBATSYS: Dan focuses on his next action.

COMBATSYS: Daigo dodges Kelvin's Quick Throw.

A block for a block!  Daigo's jab meets Dan's leg, allowing the other artist
to hop back out of harm's way.  Just time for the Gedo Boss to notice the
slightly quick and steady approach of Mini-Dan, and he looks like he wants
to do something fun.  Like throw a big guy around.  Well that's fine with
Dai...  Seeing as how he's outnumbered for this fight, the big Boss man will
just have to eliminate threats as they come.  Which means he makes his own
quick move, a sidestep, to Kelvin's attempt to grapple, and gives Kel the
same treatment he gave Dan!  A smirk.

And a swift smack upside the head to get the kid out of the way...

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Kelvin with Jab Punch.

Mini-Dan!?  Regardless of that, he finds that he is mini in another respect..
.once he's actually upon Daigo, it's more obvious just how much larger his
opponent is.  Just barely aware of Dan's bouncing around in the background
now, he finds that what had worked so perfectly in his mental exercises
isn't quite so effortless in real life.. ..and it's all that he can do to
raise a forearm in self-defense.  It still hurts, obviously, and sends him
back several steps, where he pauses to reconsider his strategy.

COMBATSYS: Kelvin focuses on his next action.

There it is! As Daigo steps aside to evade Kelvin's grasp, Dan throws
himself forward into a roll, a pink blur of motion along the ground.
"ORAORAORAORAORAORAORA!" At the appropriate moment, he uncurls, planting
both feet solidly on the ground. "Fall in the face of Saikyo! KOURYUKEN!"
With that, he springs up from his crouch, launching himself upward...and as
he does so, a fist shoots up, aiming right for Daigo's chin as he leaps into
the air. "Keep it going, Kel! Don't let up!" Dan has absolutely no qualms
about the size of his opponent. For someone who's taken on Geese and
lived...mostly...a street boss like Daigo is nothin'.

COMBATSYS: Daigo blocks Dan's Kouryuken.

Over in audience land, the uniform spectacle of enthusiastic supporters is
marred by one man. A guy in a mandarin shirt and khaki pants, slumped
forward over the spectator's cordon. He shudders uncontrollably, tears
streaming from his eyes. Weakly, Jian attempts to push himself upwards - and
catches sight of Dan rolling in a pink blur across the ring, then shooting
at Daigo like a pink streak. He points, and breaks into fresh seizures of
laughter.

Gasp!  A flying upercut!  With Kel dealt with for a moment, Daigo's free to
focus his own attention on the one who started the fight off.  The same one
that's rolling his way towards the big Gedo Boss.  The same one that's
launched into a brutal chin-popping uppercut of DOOM!  Dai, however, is no
ordinary street boss!  He's the biggest gang boss in Southtown!  Not
counting certain syndicate crime bosses...  If there's one thing Dai knows
how to do, it's take a hit.  Both arms rise up to block the uppercut, again
absorbing all the shock in his big, beefy arms, little shockwaves making the
flaps of his coat rise.

"Hmph..." Dai responds, before attempting to reward Dan for his mistake of
getting too up close and personal with someone twice his size.  Daigo rears
back one hand, and swings another light jab at the Saikyo mastah's face!
This time, followed up by an equally swift, and just a teeny bit more brutal
right cross punch!  The ol' 1-2!

Either seeing the circumstances he wanted, or just deciding to do something
at this particular moment, Kelvin seems to have decided on what to do next.
Unlike his slow approach before, and subsequent weak attempt at a grab, this
time he's a lot more insistant in both his foot speed and his motions.  His
face shifts from the tranquility of moments before, to get a bit more of a
measured, determined look behind it accordingly.  Yep, it's another move for
a grab, more or less -- yet again -- synchronized to take advantage of Dan's
attack coming from the other side.  It looks almost like he's just hurling
his weight against the mass of Daigo.  Resistable force meets unmovable
wall?

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Dan with 1-2 Smash.

Ultimately, however, momentum is a -really bad thing- when your attack
doesn't connect like it should. Dan continues going up even after his fist
smacks against Daigo's meaty arms rather than his chin...and all the speed
he can muster doesn't help him defend against the sudden combo, knocking him
backward with surprising forces. Dan rolls for several feet before catching
himself and settling into a crouch. He rubs at his own chin, working the
jaw. "Yattaze! Now this fight's really getting started!" Inexplicably,
he's...cheerful? Dan gets to his feet, ignoring the bit of shakiness, and
slips his arm out of his gi, shaking a manly forearm at Daigo. "YOUSHA! I
feel the burning fire of the fight swell within me! Kelvin! Together, you
and I shall change the course of rivers, create new valleys, and move this
mountain of a man! For the honor and glory of Saikyo, I swear it will be
done!"

COMBATSYS: Dan gathers his will.

COMBATSYS: Daigo blocks Kelvin's Positive Momentum.

Daigo steps back after his successful, if not slightly painful smash on Dan,
he gets treated to an inspirational speech!  WHOA!  Saikyo carries with it,
the power to inspire.  That's great.  Consider Daigo inspired.  Inspired
enough to glance back, spin around, and raise his guard!  Bounce off, little
man!  Bounce off, and then FEAR DAIGO'S WRATH!  For the Gedo Boss is about
to try and turn the tables on you!  Rather than be thrown, Daigo attempts to
pick Kelvin up by his collar, and throw him...at Dan!  "...Move this,
Pinky!"

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Kelvin with Quick Throw.

Yeah.. ..this is bad.  Not only is Kelvin pretty helpless to affect Daigo,
but before he can even really try to get out of the way, he finds himself
pretty handily snatched up by the much larger man, and rather easily thrown
towards his very teammate.  Thank you for flying Air Daigo!  For once,
Kelvin actually seems to wake up fully, just in time to yell out, "AHHHHH!"
Look what you have done.. ..you have broken the surface of the serene lake.
It looks as though Dan's words of inspiration will have to wait for a time
when Kelvin can pause to listen.  Whatever happens this time, it looks like
he'll have to reconsider his approach..yet again.. ..if he can calm down and
think of something besides how much this is inevitably going to hurt.

COMBATSYS: Kelvin focuses on his next action.

Dan would continue with his tirade, but Kelvin hurtling toward him at high
speed cuts that short. With a yelp, Dan rolls forward, underneath Kelvin.
"Sorry!" he calls, looking sheepish. Putting his arm back in his gi, he hops
back to his feet and charges Daigo. At the last moment, he leaps into the
air, high enough to clear Daigo's head. Hey, he may not be an -excellent-
fighter, but high jumps are pretty basic. In any case, he lands on the
opposite side of Daigo, and true to his usual philosophy of boundless (if
groundless) optimism, as he lands he twists around to grab Daigo by the
shoulders and -throw- him over his shoulder toward the warehouse.
In the words of that years-old McDonald's commercial series--Hey, it could
happen.

COMBATSYS: Dan successfully hits Daigo with Seoi Nage.

Applauding wildly, the newest apparent member of Dan's fan club shouts
incoherent expressions of positive inclination. Granted, screams from crowds
are generally rather incoherent anyway, but Jian somehow manages to be more
incoherent than usual. Then he whips a small polaroid camera out of his
oversized sleeve, and begins snapping photos of the spectacle. SAIKYO!

Daigo was rather expecting to have hit Dan with the human projectile that is
Kelvin, but some plans just don't quite pan out like that.  Instead, Daigo
gets to watch Dan roll under the bullet!  Mentally finger snapping, the big
Gedo boss puts his hands up again to hunker down and really bring some pain
when...  Dan jumps.  Dai blinks.  Looks up.  Spots Dan flying!  Hm...  Daigo
spins around to attempt to kick the loudmouth Saikyo warrior in the head for
when he lands, but...

He gets thrown instead!  GASP!  Towards the warehouse, Daigo goes, but his
heavy bulk doesn't quite carry him all the way to the softer wall of the
warehouse itself.  Instead, Dai thuds to the cold, hard, unforgiving ground,
whereupon he rolls back to his feet, and shakes his head.  "...Hmph.  So you
CAN fight...  All that jumping and shouting, I was starting to wonder."
Kazama grunts, falling into his battle poise again, his good eye narrowed,
hopping his way towards Dan...

And this time, trying to outright tackle the pink warrior, shake the
pinkness out of his gi, grant him a swift knee to the gut, and toss him
towards the warehouse himself!  Let's see how Dan likes to fly!  Maybe...

It takes a few moments for Kelvin to regain his thoughts, and his balance,
after the rather disorienting throw before.  He's come to realize, all too
late, that maybe all aspects of his style aren't ready for prime time, and
he might have to fall back on the dreaded basics.  Seeing Dan's successful
attack helps give him a small boost of confidence, too.. ..he was beginning
to wonder if Daigo could even *be* moved!  Taking a deep breath, Kelvin
picks himself up, and once again drifts into the danger zone, coming upon
the large fighter with a wild swing of his arm, and once again his face is
uncharacteristically taut with concentration.  Here we go again with
Mini-Dan?

COMBATSYS: Dan fails to interrupt Knee and Beatdown from Daigo with Premium
Sign.

..Whaddya know. It worked. Of course, Dan -knew- it would, but the successful
execution of a plan is always a good thing. Thus he thrusts both arms in the
air, shouting "WOOHOO! ...Oh boy." The last is, of course, due to Daigo
getting up and coming at him. Despite Dan's attempt to dance out of the way,
Daigo's faster than he looks.

As Dan gets picked up, he tries to reach inside his gi for something, but
the rag-doll-like shaking prevents him from grabbing whatever he was going
to. Then the knee strikes, robbing Dan of his precious air, and -he- gets
thrown into the warehouse. Due to his lighter frame and Daigo's stronger
arms, he does indeed crash into the wall, slumping down to the ground. He's
only out of it for a second, though, before pushing himself to his feet.
"Yuu geddem, Klebin!" he shouts, looking a bit woozy. A shake of his head,
however, and things shift back into focus. He'll just take a moment to
recover...that's the ticket...

COMBATSYS: Dan takes no action.
COMBATSYS: Daigo blocks Kelvin's Andersons' Crushing Swing.

Daigo seems to be making just a wee bit of headway against the Saikyo
artist!  Enough so that Dai smirks at watching Dan seem woozy.  Good.  Maybe
he'll lay off for a moment...  Uh-oh.  Gedo senses, tingling.  Daigo's head
whips around to spot the oncoming Kelvin!  The attacks just keep right on
coming, don't they?  Good thing Daigo's entire training involves the Gedo
Gang's gauntlet.  Frankly, Dai's surprised neither of these two warriors use
projectiles...  Not that he's complaining.  He's had enough fights of kids
ripping his coat up with knives and sharp objects to last a lifetime.

So Kelvin's mighty crushing attack is met with Daigo's arm!  And Daigo being
the nice guy he is, decides to offer Kel a bit of encouragement for
attempting to do something to the big mountain of Gedo Muscle.  "Nice
try...but it goes like this!" Up comes the big right hand of Justice, for
Kelvin to face!

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Kelvin with Medium Punch.

You can be sure that it's a lesson in the school of hard knocks that Kelvin
won't soon forget, after this match is done.  It looks like the small burst of
inspiration granted by Dan's successful attack isn't enough to grant much power
to Kelvin's attack, and his eyes widen yet again.. ..as he feels his attack
just kind of diffuse through Daigo's frame.  No, not even that.. ..just his
*arm* is enough.  The smaller of the two doesn't even have much time to ponder
the physics behind it all, or even react with a block of his own to reduce
the damage.  He catches Daigo's fist right in the side of his head, and goes
stumbling back..obviously, that's going to leave a bit of a mark.  It looks
as though, like Dan, he's starting to feel the wind leave his sails.  But he
can't give up that easily!  No, hoping to at least buy Dan -- who has the
better chance here -- some time to recover, he comes right back with a
smooth-flowing, quick kick, "Your strength is overpowering.. ..but win or
lose, I won't have any regrets." This may be hopeless, but it's not for lack
of trying on his part.

Dan's back on his feet, so it looks like Kelvin did buy him a little bit of
time--now, time to start working together if they want to beat the big man.
"It'll be win, Kelvin!" he calls out, dashing over to the side of Daigo
opposite his partner. "Never think otherwise!" He bounds inward as Kelvin
lashes out with his kick, and he slams a fist forward. Odd, since he's
outside the range of his arm by a foot or so...but the curiosity is quickly
revealed, as blue chi flashes forth from his arm, accompanied by a clipped
shout of "GADOUKEN!" His momentum carries him forward, and hopefully the
fireball will not only strike, but he'll be able to push Daigo into Kelvin's
kick.

COMBATSYS: Daigo blocks Kelvin's Light Kick.

COMBATSYS: Daigo dodges Dan's Gadouken.

A double-pronged attack!  Now things are getting interesting.  Daigo glances
back once at Dan's charging form, and then snaps his attention back to
Kelvin, the Gedo Boss grinning to himself.  Nothing like a good challenge to
get the blood working.  "Good!  A man should never regret the fights he
picks!" Dai notes, smoothly flowing into yet another blocking pose, knee
raised, to absorb the shock of that light kick.  Then the big Boss, sensing
the scent of some sort of projectile shooting his way, dives and rolls!
He's attempting to get behind Kelvin, both to dodge that projectile, and to
prepare for his attack.  A swift, football-style kick to Kel's rear,
determined to propell the poor kid to the warehouse wall for a field goal!

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Kelvin with Strong Kick.

And, propel he does!  Kelvin makes a token effort to slide out of the way,
at least vaguely aware of what Daigo's attempting, but as noted before..
.he's a lot more agile than he looks.  Once again, it appears the novice
will be taking a flight courtesy of Daigo's amazing strength, actually
spinning in the air somewhat like the proverbial kicked football.  It should
come as no surprise, with that trajectory, that he not only impacts the
warehouse wall -- he actually manages to make a subtly Kelvin-shaped dent in
it, before sliding down, totally dazed for a moment.  Give him a few
moments.. ..the stars will clear, really!  If the wind was out of his sails
before, it looks like he's just had them cut down, right handily!  He begins
to make a movement to get up.. ..but there's not much he can do right now.
Considering how hard that must have hit, it's amazing such a runt can manage
that much.

COMBATSYS: Kelvin takes no action.

Dan rolls to the side, coming up on one knee. All he can do is wince and
watch as Kelvin go flying. "Worry not, lad! Dan Hibiki shall avenge you!" He
gets to his feet, assuming a horse stance and facing Daigo. "You may be too
strong for us to defeat you together, Kazama! But the magnificent thundering
power of Saikyo shall ensure that you do not walk away unscathed! You are
manly, but the pink might of DAN HIBIKI is overflowing with powerful pink
manliness! If you have to strength to take on Saikyo...then come get me."
And indeed, a faint pink aura gleams around Dan as he stretches out an arm,
offering the classic 'Bring it' motion.

COMBATSYS: Dan gathers his will.

COMBATSYS: Kelvin takes no action.

Up to this point, Daigo's been on pure defense.  Blocking this, dodging
that, retaliating with his great fists o' fury whenever the chance came to
him.  Now he's being given the opportunty to attack?  It's a set-up, of
course, but...  Well let's face it.  At this point, Daigo wants to show what
the Saikyo means to Gedo punks.  Pink aura?  Like waving a red flag to a mad
bull.  You insult Dai's manliness, pinkie!  "I've got the strength..." Daigo
intones, cracking his knuckles again, having fallen out of a battle stance,
to calmly walk his way closer to the Saikyo God.  Stopping five feet away,
Kazama falls into his stance again, putting his fists up, and glaring at
Dan.  "...Try this on for size..." PUNCH!

Phoenix Punch, that is!  A punch, with an odd fiery aura around it.  Extra
flavor for a heavy punch!

COMBATSYS: Dan interrupts Phoenix Fist from Daigo with Chouhatsu Densetsu.

Finally, some time after the fact, Kelvin finally manages to shake his head
clear, and get back to his more usual self.  When this is finished, one way
or the other, he's going to take the longest, soundest nap *ever*.  For now,
though, the frustration and hopelessness is beginning to hit even him.  As
his vision clears, he sees the brave warrior of Saikyo somehow managing to
hold off the big guy's greatly enhanced punch.  But, even for now, he
doesn't make any serious move to close in for a final attack..instead he
tries to still himself and collect his muddled thoughts for one last go!  He
somehow manages to pick himself up, bracing most of his weight on the dented
wall.  Now, if only Dan can somehow keep Daigo tied up that long, and he
doesn't just pass out here from exhaustion.

COMBATSYS: Kelvin focuses on his next action.

Dan flashes a grin at Daigo before his pink chi bursts into sharper focus,
and he ducks with a fair amount of speed. The chi flames graze his shoulder,
but he ignores it for now, instead tucking into a roll past Daigo's leg.
"Orarara!" On the other side of Daigo, he turns and leaps over the man,
slapping his back several times. "YAHOO!" He lands in front of Daigo again,
slapping his cheeks and forehead quickly but painlessly, though Daigo can
feel something left where his hands touch. Dan continues this hundred-hand
attack, slapping Daigo's chest and arms, his speed temporarily much faster
than usual. After several more slaps like that, Dan leaps backward in a
flip, a safe distance away from his opponent. He stands there proudly, a
huge, tooth-gleaming smile on his face, his fist outstretched with his thumb
up.
..Visible to everyone but Daigo, Dan has stuck twenty or so 4x5 glossies,
all showing Dan's gleaming smile, and all signed by the Saikyo Master
himself, on various places on Daigo's upper body. "WITNESS THE POWER OF
SAIKYO!"

"..."

Okay.  Daigo just went from staring down the Master of Saikyo, to being
touched so many times it isn't funny, and covered with little pictures.  Of
Dan.  Of a goofily grinning Dan.  With that thumbs-up...  AUTOGRAPHED!  Do
you know what the worth of such a pile of glossies are?  DO YOU!?  Daigo
pauses, standing there nearly motionless, stunned from such an attack that
has not only blocked his Phoenix Fist, but caused him to turn into a human
posterboard.  Daigo pauses, and then picks off one of the pictures, turning
around slowly to face Dan.  "...This is yours?  They didn't get your good
side..." Hey, you feel that?  That's the subtle feeling of Daigo getting
just a wee bit mad.  That was insulting.  And now the insults gonna
be...burned away!  Because Daigo growls, holding that photo out, his other
hand clenches into a fist, and the rage simply flows...  Heated torrents of
energy, of an inner source few realize Dai has, begin to flow outward from
him, peeling off every single glossy coverying his body, swirling them in
Phoenix Flame, and spreading the ashes around him like a miniature
whirlwind!  SUPAH Phoenix Fire!  Feel the burn, radiating from this strong
mountain of a man!  Burn that cheesy grin right off Pinky's face!  "...REAL
MEN DON'T POST PICTURES IN A FIGHT!"

Perhaps assumed down for the count is Kelvin.. ..yet, after having a few
precious moments to catch his breath and prepare himself, he's ready to give
his last ounce of energy to try and keep Dan from being immolated!  And at
least, to test something he's only done in his own imagination, so far.
It's a learning experience..yeah.  With a bit of a limp at first, and then a
slightly renewed constitution, the young rookie moves to slip his way behind
the obvious preoccupied Daigo..wait for just the right moment.. ..then make
one last grab, hopefully before the dreadful Daigo Sense can distract him
and alert him to the incoming throw!  It's not a perfect clutch, but it's
the last chance to really make a difference, quite possibly..going to try
and make it count.  "...Ngha!" Even if it succeeds, it's going to take at
least some physical effort to even put Daigo in motion!  If not, well..
.small wonder.

Manly Pink Aura, meet Angry Red Aura of Death. Dan drops his triumphant
pose, and with barely a squeak he manages to get his arms up in front of his
face just before the radiating chi slams into him, buffeting him about.
Feels like when Terry went all out on him...nothing he can do but ride the
wave, now. A particularly sharp flare knocks him backward, sending him
stumbling for a moment. He's showing noticeable signs of wear and tear now;
his gi in ripped in a few places, and his oh-so-sharp yuppie hair is singed
and mussed. Believe it or not, getting Daigo mad was the intention of the
Ultimate Taunt.  Now if Dan and Kelvin can just survive the onslaught of a
mad bull... Dan regains his composure after a moment, his aura cooling from
pink to blue but not fading in intensity. "Real men don't lose their temper
at a little joke," Dan retorts, brushing the corner of his mouth with the
back of his hand.  Course, his tone doesn't sound peeved or hurt at all,
merely amused. As he notices Kelvin coming up behind Daigo, Dan pauses for a
moment, keeping his eyes on Daigo. And then, when Kelvin's attack finishes,
for good or bad, Dan charges.

Dan leaps into close range once more with Daigo, thrusting a hand out...but
this time it doesn't have a photo in it, and the force behind it is as much
as he can muster at this point. What follows if the first strike hits is a
rapid flurry of alternating punches and kicks "HISSHOU!" followed by two low
sweeps "BURAI!" ended by two spinning roundhouse kicks to the face. "KEN!"
It appears Dan's got his own techniques that don't involve the words "To my
favorite fan--Dan Hibiki".

Yes...  Those actually did damage.  Some damage.  Daigo's chi flames of DOOM
peter out after a few moments of rage, leaving Daigo glaring openly at Dan.
Only to feel a tugging on his outfit!  He glances back just in time to see
Kelvin's attempt to throw...this time Daigo actually being tossed off his feet!
Rather than take a full force blow though, Dai's beefy body goes into
defense mode again, rolling with the momentum, propelling the massive man to
his feet...just in time to see Dan's combo closing in on him!  Gah!  Now
Dai's arms have to go into overdrive themselves just to keep up with Dan's
flurry of moves, both arms starting to go numb from the sheer force of all
they've had to deal with in one fight.  Finally, though, the onslaught seems
to slow, those two roundhouse kicks being the last bit of 'oomph', and since
Daigo's arms are numb for a moment...he kicks out himself!  Trying to catch
Dan with a swift sweep while he's still maybe a little off balance from
spinning roundhouses!  Dai might be a bit winded from having to kick his
defense up a notch...but he's far from out yet!

Far from out, definitely.  Too bad that Kelvin can't say the same.  His
ultimate attack pretty effectively defended -- he'll have to go back and
mentally make some revisions to that one -- it's clear that he's not in the
best shape.  Yet, he's still got enough life left in him to realize..just that.
Rather than just drop here, as he's feeling the urge to do mind, he decides
to keep going until he can't anymore.  Perhaps it's Dan's brave words, or to
push his own limits..or maybe because to lay down for a rest right now would
just get him kicked around again.  At least this way, he has a chance!  So,
closing with Daigo once more, still cautious, here comes another widely
arcing punch..much like one he gave earlier in the contest, in fact.

COMBATSYS: Dan blocks Daigo's Light Kick.

Okay. This guy's tough to bring down. It may be time for -that- attack...
Dan throws his leg up, catching Daigo's own. It smarts, but not as bad as it
would otherwise. Before Daigo can lower his foot, though, Dan leaps up,
using it as a stepping block, hopping up to Daigo's shoulders, and from
there he leaps straight up into the air. It's a pretty good jump, though it
won't do much to Daigo other than scuff his coat.
At the apex, Dan twists in the air, re-orienting himself so that he faces
straight down. As gravity begins to take hold, he cocks a fist back and
shouts "SUPER ULTIMATE MEGA HYPER DRAGON'S FANG PSYCHO PUNCH!" Gravity pulls
him down faster and faster...and at the right moment, he snaps his fist out,
intending to connect rather solidly with Daigo.

A punch from the sky, a punch from the ground.  Daigo's had to stay so far
on his toes this fight, it's not even funny!  Yet, the Gedo Boss is up to
the challenge, and even now, his arms being abused already, he's able to
lift them enough to block both big attacks yet again, batting one aside, and
letting both of his opponents get nice and close to Daigo Kazama.

For Daigo has one more trick up his sleeve.  Now that both players are up
close to him again, Daigo lets the damage he's felt this fight build up
another healthy, though smaller dose of his good ol' Phoenix Chi, and Dan's
SUPERULTIMATEMEGAHYPERDRAGON'SFANGPSYCHOPUNCH is met with one single word
uttered from Daigo's mouth, to go along with a few shockwaves of Burning
Phoenix Chi!

"HA!"

There's not much explanation for what happens next, to Kelvin.  His attack,
like so many before, is just *absorbed* into Daigo..almost like he's eating
his and Dan's attacks for lunch.  This theory doesn't seem to be too far off
the mark, as now that Daigo's had his fun, he seems to be ready to finish
off both of them at once.  Fully expecting it to be the end of the match, he
nonetheless calms himself enough to put up his arms in defense in time
to..effectively deflect the brunt of the damage, himself.  It's not enough
to really put him back into effective fighting shape, but it's pretty
amazing that he's still standing, all told..and so, the rookie lives to see
another round, conscious.  Hoping that Dan shares, at least partially, his
good fortune in the back of his mind, Kelvin takes advantage of his
proximity to try yet another grab and throw..maybe it will actually do
something more than unsettle the big man's footing, this time!

Dan yipes! and throws up his other arm moments before the shockwaves slam
into him. Still, they're strong enough to lift him up, throwing him to one
side. He thuds into the ground, rolling onto his back and steaming slightly.
"Oooh, man..." He gets up slowly, holding one hand to his head. "That's
gonna ache in the morning..." He staggers to his feet, spreading them apart
further than normal to keep his balance. "You won't be able to knock me
out," he manages, wagging a finger at Daigo. "You've shown me your best by
now, and you don't have what it takes to put me down." He grins in a
lopsided fashion, then leans forward, letting it flow into a run. A slow
run, but one nonetheless. As he reaches Daigo, Dan gives him a little
parting gift before Kelvin flings him off; another Gadouken. The fireball
bursts forth once more, even if Dan's not really up to shouting out the
name.

Don't these people ever die!?  Perhaps Daigo underestimated them.  Then
again, that Geese fellow wouldn't have set up a handicap match like this if
it wasn't going to be worthwhile.  So the match-up was more even than Daigo
thought.  This kid...Kelvin...  He's got spirit!  Not a lot of aim.  Or
power.  But spirit, yes.  Dan's a plain fruit, but he's got just enough
training to be dangerous.  All in all, Dai's had a good workout.  Like now!

Even now, Daigo has two attacks to worry about.  So what does he do?
He...completely ignores one, to go after the other, naturally.  Kelvin's
attempt at a throw is evaded, because Daigo's got his arms up, one numb arm
to absorb the Gadoken, the other lifted to charge Dan!  Trying to
clothesline the poor, weak, yet oh-so-pink-spirited warrior!

Kelvin goes.. ..right on by, not so suprisingly!  Oh man.. ..he hasn't felt
his body ache like this since he his family's training sessions.  It's all
he can do to command himself from just keeping on running to some safe haven
to finally get some rest.  But.. ..to do so would leave Dan at the mercy of
Daigo, such as it is.  Keeping that in mind, and his own weird pride, Kelvin
stops just short enough so that he can wheel around and slice a kick towards
Daigo's back.  It's as weak and misdirected as ever, but at this point,
every small chance has to be taken.  Unfortunately, spirit can only take one
so far.  "I..don't regret this," he manages, barely having enough breath to
even speak coherently, and reaffirming what he said earlier.  "You are.. ..a
wall of stone." It's given him much needed experience, even if he realizes
the fight was, by all rights, over a while ago.

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Dan with Jab Punch.

The clothesline connects solidly, carrying Dan along for a moment.
That...was the last hit. Dan gathers up his strength, what little there is
left of it, and snaps out a kick as hard as he can. Though, like Kelvin's,
it's fairly well misdirected. Only a lucky hit will get him through.
Regardless, Dan drops to the ground, and it's unlikely he'll get up again
for a while. Oddly enough..he's still got a smirk on his face.

A solid hit!  Daigo has managed to bring at least one of the team-fighters
down!  Go Daigo!  Of course, after that clothesline, he still has to be
wary...which gives Kelvin enough time to come up behind him with a kick!
Dai glances back, glances at Dan, steps one step to the side, tenses his gut
and...

*WHOMP!*

Both kicks hit him square in the midsection!  Daigo makes little more than a
solid grunt...and then watches Dan fall down, go boom.  Leaving him alone,
with Kelvin, to which the big Gedo Boss turns next, cracking the knuckles on
one hand.  "...Alright, kid.  Playtime's over.  You fought well.  A lot
harder than I thought you would have done.  I'm impressed.  But...  You're
not down yet.  I'm not down yet.  Jus' you and me now." Daigo goes into his
stance again, fists raised, "...Let's do it."

Daigo doesn't waste time now that the fight's almost over, one way or the
other.  He swings that big meaty fist at Kelvin's fool head!

To Kelvin's credit, he doesn't shy away from the challenge.  Even though he
realizes he doesn't stand an ice cube's chance in Hades, he's willing to use
this chance to try another of his experiments!  Perhaps it's the fact that
he's barely above unconscious, or more of that zen thing, but Kelvin waits
for the rather forward punch to come in..  If it hits, it's going to hurt.
If he tries to just block the damage.. ..it's still going to hurt.  A squint
of his eyes, and then..quite possibly at the *wrong* moment..he tries to
make a catch of Daigo's forearm with his comparitively small hands, and
subsequently let him have a small taste of what he's put Kelvin and Dan
through.  Even though it's not likely to work, it's his final shot..!  And..
.miraculously, for once, the mind over matter business seems to pay off.

Wrong moment?  Right moment!  Daigo, caught completely off guard by a sudden
inspirational counter-attack throw, Daigo thuds on the ground...with more
force than he's felt the ENTIRE FIGHT!  It winds the big man.  Winds him in
a bad way.  Enough so that he has to stand up, shake his head, and squint at
the littler fighter.  "...Nice..." is all he says, before digging deep into
his own inner focus, and calling forth a move he doesn't use often from his
earlier, 'biker' years.  That of the Skull Aura!  The SUPER Skull Aura!
Every last bit of his chi coming into focus with this, his only actual
distance attack, whatever distance he was tossed matters not...for the
shockwave of Chit that emits from Daigo Kazama's palm, like multiple little
spikey jabs of pressure...

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Kelvin with Super Skull Aura.

"...No way," Kelvin has time to think, as Daigo is grounded for a few
precious instants.  He'd had trouble with that one even in his daydreaming
'training'!  Of course, as Daigo brings himself back up to his feet for a
dramatic finale -- possibly more dramatic than the crowd had originally
anticipated -- it looks like the game is up.  "I think I'm all out of
miracles, now..but.." He braces himself, and prepares to try and absorb the
force from the attack.. ..there's not much hope of outrunning or
outmaneuvering it.  "Unh!"

And.. ..against the wave he gets hit by, Kelvin loses quite effectively.
It's all he can do to hold on to wakefulness a few moments longer.  But, in
that last moment before being embraced by the most wonderful thing in the
world, he experiences a realization that there's just enough opening in the
attack for him to make a desperate lunge forward.  Yes, it's another grab
and throw.. ..he seems to like those a lot, doesn't he?  Not as powerful as
the one that brought Daigo to this point, and different in execution..but
the end result would be the same.

The Aura finished, Daigo thought he was home free.  The punk was supposed to

the ground, not up and about to throw Dai's punk ass to the floor!  Which is
where Dai finds himself after a moment's whirl of air, on his back, staring
up at the sky.  "...wha..the he..."

..We said momentary, right?  It lasted half a second, before Daigo gets
back up, and shakes his head.  "...Damn, what a fight."

Don't even look for Kelvin to be standing, at this point.  He's on the
ground, having a well-earned nap, mostly from all the bruises and what might
be a very mild concussion.  But, off in his dream world, he's actually
pretty satisfied with what's gone on.  Some things are still a bit glitchy,
but others worked more dramatically than he'd have imagined.  In body, he
just seems to be taking a nap, a very peaceful look on his face.  See?
Sleeping all the time can pay off!

COMBATSYS: Daigo has ended the fight here.

During the final moments of the fight, the crowd was utterly silent, leaning
forward to get a better look. The fight had been long and arduous, two men
chipping away at a mountain. If possible, the silence got even deader when
Daigo and Kelvin knocked each other out...

..And as Daigo gets back to his feet, the crowd erupts in a roar, stamping
their feet and applauding wildly. The announcer walks back out to the middle
of the arena along with four medics with stretchers, who busy themselves
picking up Dan and Kelvin. "Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by a hair, the
man who bested 2 to 1 odds, Daigo Kazama!" The roar of the crowd gets even
louder--even if some had less-than-pleasant opinions about Gedo, THAT had
been a fight to watch.
