Description: Athena and Shenwoo hold out as long as they can against Team Haggar. (Winners: Haggar, Seishirou, and Taigen)
Haggar walks into the arena, in his fight garb - No shirt, custom-made slacks that don't look like they should be fought in, and orange-plated wrestling boots that flare up to just under his knees. He wheels his shoulder as he walks up toward the center of the fighting area. If there's a crowd, Haggar doesn't seem to pay any attention to it. This Internet is serious business right here. He stops when he comes almost to the center, and waits for the others.
Athena walks in, ready for the righty as well. She waves to any cameras, fans, or other spectators with a smile. She turns around, raising one arm as if to cheer her teammate on, beaming... regardless of his disposition. She spins about as she comes towards the center of the arena, smiling cheerfully up to Haggar as well. It weakens a little as she raises a hand gingerly as if to try and nab is attention. "Ah, I just want to say I feel a little bad about having to fight a Mayor, so... I don't mean it as... you know, right?" She flicks a glance about, making sure the others are all present.
Appearing in a sudden blur, Ryouhara arrives wrapped in wind that causes his headband to flutter and settle about him. Arriving at a pre-determined point just to the left and behind Haggar--he knows his place--the ninja seems.. well, thoughtful. This past week since he's been assigned a new sensei has.. been interesting, to say the least.
That training's also been paired with careful observation. Something that continues even now that he's face to face with their opponents. Careful sizing is done of Athena. He's seen her a few times in his SNF studies and similar appearances. Even met her once, too. ... He, in fact, almost bought one of her CDs.
Frown. "I'm here," he announces, low and quiet, audible only to immediate teammates. "Athena Asamiya.. she moves quickly. I don't think conventional fighting methods will work against her." He shuts his eyes, briefly, as Athena speaks, respectfully allowing Haggar to return without interruption. He'll admit. His training has benefitted some from Haggar's .. 'methods.' He'll look about, too, to make sure everyone's here.
"Well... I'm glad I'm not late," says a lazy voice, as a tall blond man steps through the onlooking crowd to stand beside Athena. Shenwoo idly cracks his neck as he stands there, in his usual flashy outfit, a pair of expensive sunglasses hiding his eyes. Behind said sunglasses, the self-styled 'God of Battle' looks over Haggar and Seishirou, his broad mouth pulling into a lopsided grin - almost more like he's simply baring his teeth - at the sight of the ninja. "Figured this was gonna be interesting." He reaches up and pulls off his sunglasses, folding the arms in and pocketing them. "So who's first?" Was there another opponent? Shen didn't really pay attention.
For everyone else it might just be another fight, but for one of the members of Haggar's team it is so much more. Taigen Raine has strived to make it into a big name tournament and after all these years she is finally in one. She feels the butterflies in her stomach and she will be the first to admit she has doubts if she belongs here, but the training with Haggar and Seishirou has helped her gain confidence. So there she sat for hours before the scheduled fight, spending the past few minutes psyching up to Pearl Jam's 'Animal' to get herself ready for the fight. She steps out wearing a silver mesh tanktop that is sheer enough to show the black bra beneath and stops high enough to expose midriff. She still wears her usual cargos though she goes shoeless when she enters the arena with a focused look as she smacks a gloved fist into her opened hand and makes her way to stand behind Haggar on side opposite of Seishirou.
Mike Haggar glances over each shoulder as his students arrive in turn, offering each a nod. Then, back to Athena. As he talks, he drops into his wrestling stance. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm on vacation." Then he lunges forward, bending down and trying to scoop Athena up, off the ground, and through the air over his shoulder in a classic Hip Toss move. "By the way, my daughter has all of your CDs!"

Flung, Athena flips in midair. She lands hard with a wince, but she lands feet first. "Oh, if you need me to sign anything afterwards, just ask?", she says with a smile, pointing to herself. Then, suddenly, she leans forward, crossing her arms over as she draws forth her power into an orb, firing it off towards the muscle man with a "Psycho Ball!" Hopefully, Shenwoo will remember their plan. But she's not the kind of teacher to force an assignment on someone...
As Shenwoo spoke, Seishirou takes a step forward, to face the 'God of Battle.' He's silent for a good many moments, watching the man carefully. Brown eyes narrow. He nods to Raine once. Then he decides to say something.
"No more arrivals... let's see how good you are."
Then Seishirou moves. Literally flickering with the sudden movement, it's like earth shrinks between the two, as Seishirou attempts a straightforward maneuver--using his momentum and velocity to try and get a drop on Shenwoo early on with a significant blow to the stomach with a knee. An attack.. swiftly followed up by a smashing-force toe to chin kick.

As Seishirou charges at him, Shenwoo just sort of... Stands there, actually. He keeps right on grinning, dark eyes watching that freakishly speedy advance eagerly. But, that's the thing, isn't it? They've got a /plan/. They have to /strategise/. Usually, the brawler from Shanghai would be perfectly content to just try and use overwhelming force and some cursory dirty tactics to carry the day, but there's bigger fish to fry here. "I'll play with you in a second, kiddo," Shen says in a jovial tone, moving back just enough that Seishirou's knee and kick get no 'bite'. "I've got an appointment with teacher, first." Backwards movement turns into circular movement, as the flashily-dressed berserker dashes at Haggar. "HYAAAA-!" he cries, lifting one leg and aiming to smash his heel into the big man's side, ideally in time with Athena's Psycho Ball!
A firm nod is all Seishirou gets as a reply from Taigen as the girl launches into her own offensive. She whips around Haggar's side to home in on Athena when she lands. Trying not to give the other woman much of a chance to get situated, Taigen falls backwards to catch herself and hold herself up with her hands as legs whip out to try to clamp around Athena's legs at about knee level. She only hopes to connect with her attack and if so she rolls to the side to to take the pop singer's legs out from under her. Never did like the woman's music anyways.

The wrestler-Mayor turns around as Athena is tossed behind him, groaning inwardly as she manages to flip around in the air. He has had bad experiences with those fast ones. ...and also people who throw stuff. He grits his teeth and turns his body as the Psycho Ball flies toward him, taking it on the shoulder but still staggering a bit. The blast leaves some scorch marks on his strap. One good thing about his turn is that he sees Shenwoo coming at him with his foot. Haggar lifts a mighty arm in response, batting the leg aside. He then balls both fists together, takes a step for the flashy man, and lays an axehandle right across his chest.

Athena doesn't seem to notice Taigen, instead wincing at the blow Shenwoo takes. Her eyes flicker over at the last second, however, and she leaps foward... and out of Taigen's grasp before she can clamp down. Heading at Haggar, she suddenly puts her arms up in a guard as she performs a simple jump kick. With a "Yaa!" her leg lashes upwards. At the very least, she hopes to give Shenwoo a moment to recover... though going in close against a wrestler may not be the wisest of ideas.
And then, Shenwoo takes off running for Haggar. Heh. Ryouhara expected as much. Unfortunately.. he's failing to realize just how much of a bad idea that is. As is evinced by the fact that Shenwoo just got pasted. However.. Seishirou isn't going to let that happen anymore. So, just before Seishirou hits the ground from the recoil of his rising chin smash, he bends his wrists until two small clicks can be heard. His feet touch the ground for a moment.. before he kicks off again, using his kicknig foot to burst his momentum into the air a little more. There'll be a winching sounds and the ninja's hands move, grey streaks appearing from his jacket onto his hands and apparently being flicked up into the air.
Before several wide loops of almost clear wiring fall, their target clearly around Shenwoo and, with a flip of Seishirou's body, flick or force him to roll away from Haggar.
As a line of at least 9 kunai, perfectly aimed and evenly spaced, fall, sticking into the ground in a broad line between Shenwoo and the rest of the battle.
Landing somewhere near Shenwoo regardless of the outcome of the attack, Seishirou will give Shenwoo such a look. "That.." he notes, gesturing at the kunai, ".. is your line. If you cross the line.. you'll be hurt."

That's what Shenwoo likes to see! As he gets axehandled and knocked away from Haggar, the brawler's dark eyes light up with excitement... This is the sort of fight he likes! Now they just need to get rid of everyone else and... Buh? The tall fighter gets the vaguest inkling that /something/ is about to happen, which is when he's entangled by Seishirou's wires, and pulled away from Haggar. His tall form rolls along the ground, rather uncomfortably, before Shen hops back up to his feet, narrowing his eyes at the ninja. "Well, hey, if you wanna fight me so bad...!" Shenwoo quite simply explodes into forward motion, seeming to glide right across the ground at Seishirou, his left fist - the one with the uncomfortable-looking metal ring on it - extended in a punch aimed right at the other fighter's face. "THEN I'LL JUST HAVE TO OBLIGE!" Especially since it doesn't seem like he's going to be able to go after Haggar again just yet, which kinda puts a crimp in that plan.
Taigen grimaces when she catches nothing. She knew of Athena's speed though so she didn't expect it to be so easy to get a hit in on the woman. She swings the legs upwards and pushes off her hands to backflip to land on her feet and instead of intercepting Athena whens he is rushing at Haggar, Taigen rushes at Shenwoo and comes to a sliding stop on her left leg as she raises her right leg to coil it up tightly and then thrust it forward quickly with intent on smacking the man in the side with the kick when he rushes by en route to Seishirou.

Mike Haggar turns from Shenwoo back to Athena almost immediately after his blow, moving toward her with an arm raised to take her kick. Again, it's just a bit harder than he expected, and his approach is briefly paused. His left fist comes up, now, seeking to drive just under Athena's ribs.

Athena lands, and the punch lashes out at her. But Athena's already hopped to ths side, circling around Haggar. The bee against the frog, as it were. Leaning up, she lashes out with a single open-palm strike - almost a slap, really - before then cocking her arm back and trying to follow through with her elbow. She makes short 'polite' kiais, but manages to find time inbetween to give Shenwoo a concerned glance.

Slammed in the face thuroughly by Shenwoo's attack, Seishirou spits pretty hard. He needs to remember the training The Mayor gave him about this kind of thing. But, in this case, with Shenwoo so faithfully obliging Seishirou's instructions, he figures, he ought to respond in kind. With a light palm thrust to the middle of Shenwoo's body It's designed not to throw Shenwoo too far, as he notes Taigen has come into the scene.
If he succeeds.. it'll leave a dark tag there, in the shape of Sei's family crest.
The 'Ryuuouin' chi seal, a move of his own devising. It will become hotter and hotter as it collects heat chi to it. It will glow red. Then white.
Then it will explode.

Well, that situation changed pretty quickly. Yeah, Taigen hit him en route, but it wasn't really enough to stop the tall man's course in the least; his fist recoiling slightly after the satisfying thud of hitting Seishirou in the face, Shenwoo is quickly subjected to a rather unfortunate turn of events. Because there's that tag on his bare chest, which goes all KABOOM, hurling the tall man back and down! "Keh!" he says as he lands rather unceremoniously... And then gets right back up, his shoulders shaking with laughter. "This is fun!" the brawler states, looking from Seishirou to Taigen. "But it doesn't seem all that fair to fight me two-on-one, while the teachers go at it straight up..." Is he complaining? Nah, not really. "Nice outfit, by the way," the flashy fighter adds offhandedly to Taigen, before his attention moves back to Seishirou. As Shenwoo takes a single step forward, the a circular wave of dust is kicked up around his stepping foot, before the tall man simply vanishes from sight. This doesn't last long, though, as it quickly becomes apparent he's rushing at the ninja a second time, his fist extended again and this time forming the nose of a 'shockwave' of blue energy as his blurring form rockets forwards! "SHYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Taigen hehs lightly and there is slight smirk that plays along her features. "Yeah, I hope you enjoy what else I can do." she replies to him before shutting up and remembering talk is cheap here in the big times. All it does is buy the opponent time. She is almost disappointed that the man rushes to her partner instead of her. Well if she is going to have to show that she is a threat she better do it now. She crouches down then rushes to fall behind Shenwoo and chases after, leaping to the air once he starts to slow himself and twisting her body a few times to make a spiral motion as a electricity gathers and crackles about the single foot she aims to land right between Shenwoo's shoulderblades.

Mike Haggar follows Athena's movement and tries to step into the punch, hopefully to lead into something of his own, but DAMNIT ATHENA STOP HITTING SO UNEXPECTEDLY HARD. The Mayor is driven back a couple more steps, grunting. "Damn..." He coughs, then jumps forward again, starting to spin as he does so. His arms swing out rigidly, and Haggar very nearly spins like a top as he moves for the pop star.

Athena looks over to Shenwoo once more, and, distracted by concern, is nailed, getting knocked back and doing several turns before slamming into a nearby wall. She pauses, shaking her head from the impact, but doesn't have time to bleed... like she might normally. Heading up the wall in a vertical dash, she finally kicks off, traveling over the opposition to dive at Shenwoo. It might even look like an attack, for a moment, but then Athena closes her eyes, beginning to glow with orange-yellow power. As she connects with him, she puts both hands to her shoulders, sending the power into him as her clothes and hair flow upwards... and she remains upside down. The power fades, and she then flips over, landing on the ground.

And the ninja is SMASHED with the attack! Heavily, in fact, the ninja flying clear away from Shenwoo.. hitting the ground.. and exploding. Literally evaporating. To scatter several souvenirs all over the arena where he's landed.
Wow.
But.. as Shenwoo knows.. Seishirou was not hit by the attack.
"Too slow," he comments critically, only /twelve inches/ to Shenwoo's side. Moving beyond the speed of eye-tracking. He's not attacking--not yet. In short.. he's letting Taigen deal with it. Right now, his hands are still in his pockets.

You know, this is so not Shenwoo's fight. With his powerful attack dodged in such an unusual manner by Seishirou - unusual to Shen, at least, having never actually seen the ninja in action - the tall man nevertheless barks another laugh, sounding altogether pleased... Even as he gets kicked in the back by Taigen. "Tch," he grunts, gritting his teeth at the electricity. Then, Athena does... Something... Except it has no effect? "Hey... What was that supposed to be?" he wonders of his 'teacher', but now he's got some problems. "Right. You want some now?" he wonders, looking right at Taigen. This is going badly, he can tell... The focused assault was broken, and his effectiveness has dropped like a stone... But that doesn't mean the self-styled 'God of Battle' is giving up just yet. Instead, he whirls and makes a grab for the woman's tanktop, and should he get a hold of her he brings his head down in a headbutt, before aiming a quick knee to her kidney, and then attempting to smash her face-first into the ground. He's enjoying himself... But he's also getting kinda pissed.

Taigen grins wryly and extends an arm to hold out a hand and waggle a finger in a 'come hither' motion to the frustrated Shenwoo. This might not have been the best of ideas Taigen has made in the match as she isn't quick enough to avoid his grasping hands. There are some rather sickening noises as she is manhandled by Shenwoo and then thrown to the ground face first. Leave it to the girl not to not stay down long though, she is hurting quite a bit, but she is concious enough to rise to her knees then grin as she launches herself into the air while aiming to drive a knee right into Shenwoo's chin as she backflips and attempts to land gracefully on her bare feet.
So, Athena's going to go over there, is she? Well, Haggar has other plans. The big man leaps into the air, bringing both arms up and once again knitting them together into an axehandle. For a moment, time seems to stop, and some people swear they could see a flash of light around Haggar's hands. Then, he suddenly streaks toward Athena like a lightning bolt, trying to slam his fists into the idol. Hit or miss, when his fists slam into the ground, it cracks just a tiny bit.

Athena turns about, and then gets hit into the ground, bouncing as it cracks with the impact. Athena gets back up more slowly at this time, but she glares up at Haggar, actually looking angry. "I thought you were a nice person, but... that's just mean!" She then gathers up her power into a larger ball of psycho energy... that crackles and distorts the air with its power. And then, nearly at point-blank, she fires it off like a cannon towards Haggar. "Psycho Shooooot!"
It has nothing to do with being mean, the ninja knows.
If you're losing, you're doing something wrong.
Ryouhara learned that a year ago, back during the second lowest point in his life. If you turn your back, it will get stabbed. That's the rule of a fight. And, while watching Athena circumvent the very line he marked (with an amazing level of agility. as expected) to do .. something that was only apparently nothing, the ninja decides it's best to finish this end while both Shenwoo and Athena are distracted. One throwing knife--kunai comes spinning out from one of the bottom pockets of his backpack, twirling it on his pinky by its eyelet. He grasps it. And flickers.
As Seishirou mentioned.. if you turn your back.. it'll get stabbed.
Actually, in this case, the stab is low and to the side, with a kunai.

Not this time, anyway. Shenwoo barely manages to avoid Taigen's knee, which is when he is very nearly struck by Seishirou's kunai, but his own, gloved hand comes down to catch Seishirou's wrist, just enough to stop the throwing knife from getting him. That toothy grin of the berserker's is still in place, as he wags the index finger of his opposite hand at the ninja... And then immediately goes after Taigen again! It's a repeat of his earlier attack... The rushing punch... As he aims to put that ringed fist right in the woman's face, his touseled blond hair and unbuttoned silk shirt trailing behind him from the speed. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

THe fist comes in too fast for Taigen who is still landing from the flip. The fist lands hard across her jaw and sends the woman flying back and tumbling into a heap where she lays. But not for long. "You want to trade punches?" she says loud enough for all to hear as she sits up and spits some blood to the side. She just narrows her gaze on Shenwoo and removes the glove from her right hand as she stands up. "You got it!" she screams and launches herself forward in a run while rearing her fist back. It crackles with electricity as she swings it around with all her might to plant it right in the center of Shenwoo's chest, or at least if he doesn't manage to get out of the way.

The Mayor plants his feet as Athena gets up, preparing her attack. "This is a fight, Athena! Niceness doesn't enter into it!" He rushes at the blast of Psycho Power before him, intending to take it on the shoulder, plow through it, and come out swinging.
Incorrect. End of line.
There's a beat after the explosion caused by the blast where nobody is quite sure what will happen next, but Haggar stumbles out from the side, coughing, with his strap burned right through. He falls to his knee, breathing hard, and putting together some ideas.

Athena is unhappy, though, "If you say so, Mayor!", she says, dashing in through the explosion, wisps of hanging dust and energy trailing after her as she goes to get point-blank with him. And with that, she cries out, "Haaaaa....!", and she begins to glow again. But this time, combined with what's nearly a shoulder ram are two large spheres of energy that encircle her, and she's clearly trying to move in on him as she lets loose. It's a definite all-or-nothing assault, but the damage it inflicts on the arena floor as the spheres batter it is clearly not anything less than her true strength.
Hmph. Looks like Shenwoo's faster than he thought. With his hands, anyway.
The Mayor.. is in a bad way. But oddly enough, Seishirou is not concerned with that at the immediate moment. He has a very specific task here., allowing himself to almost /lose his balance/ as the speed of his attack is averted, Seishirou is stumbling forward, right in between Athena's whirling sphere assault (tremendous..) and Shenwoo. Eyes wide, the ninja gkks quietly. If this carries on too long, he was going to have to help the Mayor.
But one last shot. You see. Seishirou hasn't lost his balance.
He's positioning himself for a mule kick to Shenwoo's side, canted almost straight up. It's just barely measured by centimeters, so that if Shenwoo evades, he won't nail Taigen during her frontal assault instead.

Really... Shenwoo does try and get out of the way of Taigen's punch, but by this point... He's too far off his game; this has just not been the 'God of Battle''s night, by any stretch of the imagination. Taigen's electrical fist hits the tall man square in the middle of his bare chest, giving him a rather uncomfortable shock, and when he sees Seishirou coming at him... He twists, and starts to propel himself forward, but it's too late. Seishirou's mule kick hits the berserker, stopping that energy-lined fist inches from the ninja's head, before he simply collapses to the ground.
Taigen stands in place with fist outstretched for a moment even after Shenwoo collapses. The sparks around her hand fade away and she breathes heavily as it takes a moment to sink in that she and Seishirou managed to take down one of the two opponents. She was feeling nervous at the begining of the fight, but now she is riding on a adrenaline high and turns on a bare foot to see Athena rushing to Haggar. She stays back for now and tries to refocus on the task at hand. They all might still be up, but Athena is no pushover.

It was only a moment, really. Haggar looked down for just a second to gather himself, and draw a last breath before pushing back to his feet. Just barely a second, and then he looks up and /what the fuck is that shit./ Haggar doesn't even manage to bite off his curse, proclaiming: "Fuck me!" He does the only thing his instincts will let him in the face of such an arena-smashing, painful-looking assault - leap out of the way in a panic.

Haggar doesn't like the result. The crystals smack into him one after another, lifting the big man up off the ground for a few blows before he's sent spinning away. Haggar crashes into the ground, the force that he was flung away at actually cracks the ground at his landing point, but impossibly, he rolls up to his feet. With a final bellow, he hurls himself across the arena almost as fast as he was sent flying away, his hand stabbing out at Athena's forehead.

At Mayor Haggar's vehement curse, a figure at the back of a large crowd of spectators near the 'ring' area lunges to his feet and cries, "YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH, BIG MIKE!"
In unison, that crowd section's communal head turns to stare at the figure, who wobbles back and forth briefly and then veeery slowly sits down again.

Athena blinks, and suddenly there's the call of "Telepoooort!" just as the fist smashes into - and through the afterimage of Athena's face. She flickers back into existence, trying to put distance between herself and the trio, and calls out, "Psycho ball!", as she goes for her trademark attack. After all, the wrestler doesn't seem to be dealing with Psycho Power well. Which is good, because he's quite nearly kayoed her all by his lonesome. The bruises are certainly nothing she'd want to show at a concert, at the very least.
That was extremely loud profanity.
After Shenwoo collapses, Seishirou turns, not directly looking at Taigen.. but still very saying, in a very low and cautious tone, "....thanks." Who knows what for. But now, he has more important things to worry about. Shenwoo's attack was pretty intense and it probably would have hit him if he hadn't had two things to deal with. Maybe.
But it's the aforementioned prifanity that draws Seishirou's attention to the fight again. Well, that and the loud guy in the crowd. He's been keeping one eye on how the Mayor was doing, but only now does the fight come under his full observation.
"Huh. She's keeping it together, but not by a large margin. Haggar is in trouble though. Let's move."
It's about when Athena throws the Psycho ball that Seishirou appears in its wake, moving swiftly, but his hands are only ready, they aren't moving. He's between the teleporting girl and Haggar now, though. It might not be enough. But he'd have to make it so. Watching Athena carefully, the ninja will very quietly lay this out. "... Leave him alone for awhile."
If Haggar can deal with that attack--his kawarimi replacement wouldn't be able to save him--maybe the two can buy the Mayor some time. Maybe.

Almost as if waiting for the word, Taigen peels off the other glove and goes rushing at Athena when Seishirou tells her to move. She may not have fancy tricks or great strength like the other fighters here, but she is damned if she isn't going to make her mark on this fight win or lose. She hopes to fight speed with speed when she closes in on Athena and assualts the other girl with a quick left, right, left combo to the ribs.

Mike Haggar turns around slowly, having been haxed by the afterimage. He /should/ be down, but he isn't. With the ball coming at him again, the big man crosses his arms in front of him to take it, but is driven back hard again by the projectile. That's probably it for him, but the other two... unless Haggar can get one more hit in, he doesn't think they'll be able to take down the surprisingly-skilled pop star. Haggar makes a final dash for Athena, balling his fists together for a third time and swinging his forearms at Athena's neck.

Athena backflips away from Haggar's strike. "Monster...", she mumbles, awed by his ability to rise again in the manner of a b-flick killer. But, then. she's blindsided by Taigen... and stumbles away. She frowns, and then just jumps at Haggar... and then dives at him, butt-first, aiming to just 'bounce' off him and give that battered body the signal that it really needs to Fall Down.
.. That is far more endurance than Seishirou thought Haggar /had/.
Maybe that's why the Mayor was paired up with them as the students. Rolling out of the way smoothly of the approach of Haggar that he heard, Athena jumps at him... but now, now.. the ninja sets up several kunai into his grasp. And attempts to distract Athena by throwing them at her. She might be a little on the fast side.. but Ryouhara is an established shot with a throwing knife.
Taigen is starting to have to be careful with her own attacks now it seems since Sei is deciding to fling some projectiles about at Athena. Taigen has to use a slower approach to get in and get at Athena when she has an opening. She feints a high kick then intentionally swings over the other girls head while flinging her other leg up in an attempt to slam the foot against the back of the popstars head. Of course this is rather risky since Taigen is taken off her feet and she has to land on her hands and hop back on said hands before she can backflip and land on her feet.

Haggar should /NOT/ be up. Seriously, man. His Double Lariat finds no purchase, and Haggar almost falls down, but another surge of adrenaline keeps him up. Then Athena rears at him, and Haggar is finally able to make an attack work in his interests and you shut up right now Cody before you take that the wrong way. Haggar takes the blow right on his chest, his arms seeking to close around Athena.

Mike Haggar finally falls over, by the way. Finally.
Athena moves in a manner that might make ninjas proud, hopping back out of the way of Haggar grab, and then rolling to the side as Taigen lashes out at her. Coming up out of her roll, the spray of kunai seem impossible to avoid, but there's another call of "Teleporrrrt!" as Athena vanishes, then reappears further away from the pair. She raises her hands in both directions, focusing on her power... and there's a flash of psycho power infusing her, causing her to glow. After all, this is the first real chance she's gotten, now that she doesn't have to worry about the people's choice breaking her.
Tch.. Haggar's down. And now she's glowing.
"This is a problem."
What was it Rock called it again? 'Guts.' He needs to remember that.
Because now Seishirou is moving towards Athena at a swift, but still predictable speed.
He doesn't know what that is.. but he can't let it continue. He'd have to rely on Taigen to distract her. And this; his sudden flickering. While Athena's selfproclaimed 'teleportation' technique was commendable, Seishirou was capable of a similar technique. Only his swift movement technique is offensive in nature. That's about when he suddenly changes his speed. This was a slow attack, but they needed it to keep Athena off her guard. Maybe, if he can't do something about that, Ms. Raine can. He couldn't let her finish that technique..
It's an interesting feeling, being able to at least halfway rely on someone else.
His true form of attack is straightforward. A swift, violent needle stomp to the girl's stomach.
Okay, one down on each side, but even so Taigen has the confidence that Seishirou and her can do some damage to this pop star before they get taken down. She rushes almost at the same time as the ninja, a fluid stride that goes into a forward jump that lets Taigen corkscrew into the air and do a similar attack she nailed Shenwoo with earlier as she extends a foot that is crackling with electric energy down on the crown of Athena's head.

And... he does interrupt Athena, causing the aura to fade too quickly. And then, she's nailed by Taigen, and sent stumbling to the ground. She reaches up to grasp her shoulder, trying to bring the glow back again. It's utter desperation, but it's all she's got. She isn't confident she can take on both of them from death's door. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
Slapping his hand into the dirt, the ninja braces on the ground. He gives Athena something.. short of a deadly serious look. "If you keep wasting your energy like that, this will conclude swiftly."
His technique worked.. and Taigen was allowed to hit Athena, but.. Seishirou knew the rhythm of the fight would not allow him to get to her in time to keep her from doing it again, now that she's knocked away. He'd have to rely on something faster, and more liable to strike. Because while, not sure.. he had something of an idea about Athena's abilities. And he knew what that meant.
His pursuit dash comes in low and fast, kicking off with a pair of metallic clinks just as his shoes hit ground. While he might not get there in time... he's intending on hopefully landing a blow on her this time; taking the form of a lower kick sweep to contrast Taigen's last attack, one arm stretched behind him. Another long shot, considering her observed speed index, but..
Taigen goes into a foward roll when connecting with the kick and hops back to her feet to look over her shoulder. Sei might be a bit away from Athena, but the young kickboxer is closer and decides not to let up on her assualt. If she gives Athena a breather, it could cost her and Sei the match. She times her kick to lash out at the other side of Athena, making the pop star having to defend both flanks. She coils her leg tightly against her body then thrusts it out quickly to slam her bare foot against the other woman's shoulder.

Athena recovers, and then stands up straight, ready to avoid both attacks. As such, it's really bad that she slips a piece of shattered ring, flying back. And getting nailed from both sides. Yeah, she's out, no doubt about it.

At that point, the Ryouhara clan ninja stands.
Watching her fly back, he slowly and thoughtfully puts a hand back into a pocket, blinking curiously.
"Hm... she ran herself out of strength. And therefore, she couldn't evade an extended assault from two sides. I've seen situations where the contrary has happened..." He brushes a bang or two out of his eyes. "...but this was an expected result." Huh. He won't make an attempt to help her up--he considers that disrespectful to Athena as a fighter. Instead, he turns towards his teammates. Haggar's down, but the girl.. ".. You okay?" he asks, a little more callously than would be expected from a teammate, but he asks regardless.
The words from Seishirou don't seem to register to Taigen for a few minutes. Two well connected kicks in a row on a fighter of Athena's calibur seems to have blown the young kickboxer's mind. She looks a slightly worse for wear, but much like Seishirou she is still standing and only has a few bruises and knicks. She finally looks to her team mate rather wide eyed for a moment before she grins broadly and jumps at Seishirou to latch onto him with a hug. "We actually did it!" she says somewhat excitedly as she almost puts the poor ninja in a chokehold before she lets go and turns around to pump a fist. "Look out world, Taigen Raine is finally here to make her mark!"
To contrast, it really doesn't surprise Seishirou much. Sheer numbers were against Asamiya at that point, making the backup plan he had moot.
Well, moot until maybe he gets caught in a choking hug by Taigen. "Gkh!" he chokes, flailing for help. However.. while he doesn't return the gesture, he doesn't have a chance to recover from a moment of social discomfort AND do something like throw her off him, as she's already bouncing off and pumping a fist and .. weird stuff like that.
".. guess you're fine," he murmurs despondently, rubbing his neck and staring. "I'm gonna go make sure Haggar's taken care of." .. Better that that get his neck broken, right? With that, Seishirou will vanish, presumably to fetch a couple doctors to wrap the Mayor up, wherever they might be. Strolheim is a pretty brutal country, and he's not sure they wouldn't just let Haggar walk it off.
... Even if he's pretty sure the Mayor could.
Jeez.
Taigen rides on a pretty big high for a few moments long, only vaguely hearing Seishirou's response. She finally comes down though and bring herself to leave the ring a few moments later when the medical staff start to arrive to take care of the downed fighters. She gives one last cry in victory before exiting. Someone is going to be celebrating tonight and she doesn't care about the hangover that she is going to have.
