Like serpents, they go out and sow chaos and dismay. Through the use of occult rituals and subterfuge, they turn people against one another merely for the sake of societal collapse. It's their dream to one day see the world destroyed by the omnipotent spirit of the Black Dragon, a force that currently resides within Johann himself.
Nobody knows that Abobo works for Johann himself, but the giant has proven a most capable foil for would-be sleuths. Gifted with a powerful body, no one has, as of yet, looked into the secrets of the cult and survived.
