Goro Daimon is a long-time family friend of the Kusanagis, one of the other scant few they tolerate training alonside them. A real mountain of a man, Goro is actually very thoughtful and intelligent. In another blow to the big bruiser stereotype, Goro fights with the Judo style, utilizing a series of grapples and counter-attacks to his opponent's own motions. He loves nature, and while he does acknowledge that technology has made a worthwhile contribution to society, Goro is uncomfortable around very complex machines. He is the kind to prefer a steak cooked over an open campfire than one grilled in a restauraunt, though he holds no grudge against those who feel otherwise. Goro is also somewhat of a second father to Kyo, and often accompanies the younger Kusanagi to team combat tournaments, providing an excellent contrast to Kyo's balanced fighting style and impulsive nature.
