JINCHUU: R3 - Notes (1/5) Wed Sep 12 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay guys. Awesome job on round two, so I only have a few notes to make.
First off, this week's matches come in slightly staggered. As a few of you Bonus types still have matches outstanding (you got til Thursday! e_e) the new Bonus Matches and our Plot Thread post will be put up over the weekend. Don't worry, I didn't forget and those of you that are RPing will all get assigned. Except maybe Hotaru. She's too cute to fight. She's just kind of like our mascot. (no I'm kidding)
Second, there's gonna be a new type of match announced, starting as of the beginning of round 3, which is the Mission type match. Mostly this is not an official sanctioned or assigned match attached to Jinchuu, but will generally represent extra major scenes establishing some underpinning of the plot that everyone needs to be made aware of. Generally, a lot of those matches are gonna be less administrated (as a result being more diverse) than normal matches, and not all may even be on board the ship, so participants can self-direct a little more than usual. Watch for them, OK?
Third, just a small note--Riko's player IS out probably well on into next Monday, so while it's still good to cc all of your mails to Prime, please make sure you're @mailing me when you get a log submitted or if you've got a question. We've got the delicious Kobun handling the publishing of tournament logs for now, b but she'll eat you if you spam her with mail or they're not just right. 8)
!! ROUND THREE MATCH DEADLINE IS: 11:59pm, Monday, September 24th (my birthday hey :D)
Onto R3!

JINCHUU: Round 3 - Intro (2/5) Wed Sep 12 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ WITHIN ]
Never let it be said the people cannot fight.
As savage battles rock the Suiryuu. As investigations into every corner of the eerie people's fighting ship are carried out. As secret alliances are made. One cannot help but notice the sheer absence of the chief organizers recently. Since his initial appearance at the first qualifying round for the Suiryuu, Seishirou has simply not been seen by a vast majority of the ship's passengers, or even the ship's staff.
Now, perhaps even more disconcertingly, Riko has disappeared as well. Some cynical few may count this as a mixed blessing, but -- with the engineering master and ship's captain absent, it is left up to the remaining crew to pick up the slack. Matches are still assigned in their own way; showing up on cards on dressers, underneath dinner plates, in pockets. The ship doesn't suffer for their absence. But where, on a ship this small, can people actually disappear off to?
[ WITHOUT ]
The bunking assignments were bad enough. Forced to share a room with HER? Or HIM? Ew. But it can't get any worse, right?
Enter the camera crews.
It's no secret that Jinchuu's televised. But so far, that's just been subtle recording of matches. Hidden cameras. Now there's cameras being carried around. There's a couple of TV crews wandering the ship, pestering you for interviews, or just filming you doing stuff. Like /eating/.
And then, there's some of this round's matches...

JINCHUU: R3 - Matches (3/5) Wed Sep 12 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARIKA vs. ARANHA in "ALL-SEEING EYE"
In the map room of the Suiryuu, the arena has been prepared quite thuroughly. It is as if an ink bomb went off, for the sheer amount of sealing jutsu that have been inscribed on the walls, carpet, floor--even over the map itself, terminating there in a stylized mark meaning 'Eye.' It will be simple enough to defeat yuor opponent here. However, as the fight begins.. those same stylized marks will appear on your arms. Hands. Your feet, your ankles, your hips, your calves. On every point of articulation on your body, these marks will appear. An elaborate tracking jutsu has been used here. With every movement, a line of script will move. With every blow, seals will become broader, with every energy manifest, a color will intensify. It will all be recorded in the shifting lines across the architecture--every point of the linework on the grounds here will shift to form a perfect mathematical description of the battle. In the end, when a victor is decided, it will all be sealed in a single scroll.
VYLE vs. ELLE in "BLACKOUT"
The idea was, you were fighting an easy, simple fight on the deck of the Suiryuu. That's what you were told. Unfortunately, as happens frequently on the Suiryuu, what you are told and what actually happens are two different stories. After the entire arena becomes one giant trap door, you fall through a throat in the fore of the ship and land, rather unceremoniously, in a hold, you will be treated to darkness. The last vestiges of light came from the trap door and the sunlight above. It's sealed. There are no lights here. No exits. And if you've been taught anything by the last two rounds of sadism, the only way to be let out is by beating your opponent. Surrounded by darkness, persevere to comprehend.
HAKUYA vs. NIKOLAI in "HALL OF MIRRORS"
A small stretch of the cabin corridors have been cordoned off for this match. The hall, via some strange feat, has been converted during the night into a weird circus gallery of polished glass and silver. With mirrors everywhere--extending on into the corridor and the temporary bulkhead set up halfway through the corridor, in and through(!) several of the suites. Everywhere, a mirrored surface. Everywhere, a camera. Everywhere. It's like a maze. It is only you, at one end of this maze. And your opponent, at the other end. You can see eachother around every corner. But which is real? You may want to mind the periodic laser pulses that make their rounds in the mirrored circuit. Most fighters are strong enough to handle a stray blast, you might be able to use it to distract your opponent. And chances are, your opponent is thinking the same thing.

JINCHUU: R3 - Matches (4/5) Wed Sep 12 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIFFANY vs. ZACH in "DEEP SIX"
This round, lots of people have gotten really flashy fights in front of the cameras. But you...you've been crammed into an old diving suit. A really antique diving suit. One of those with a big round helmet, bulky gloves, weighted boots, and an honest-to-god air hose leading back to the surface. And, of course, you've been thrown off the boat. Now you're sinking. So is your opponent - they're descending to the ocean floor right beside you. The thing is, the fight...has already started. Because when you actually HIT the ocean bottom, that's when they'll stop pumping air through your hose. So. Better make it fast. And hope they haul you back up quick. Because it's cold, dark, and very wet down here...
AISLINN vs. PRESTON in "BIOMETRICS"
There's cameras all over the ship now. Maybe that's good, maybe it's bad - but do they have to strip you naked and put sensors on you too? Yeap. You've just been in the Suiryuu's sickbay. They've taped more electrodes and weird technology to you than an octogenarian on life support. But as you step into the arena for this fight, you can see why. It's just a chamber in the hold... but there's big screens covering every wall. Dozens of LCD monitors behind hard blast-proof plastic. The walls are crawling with data - and it's all about /you/. And your opponent, of course. Heart rate, respiration, lactic acid levels... it's almost too much to make sense of. Almost. (RP CONDITION: Behave as though you can ICly see the health bars, super meters, check data, etc. Because you pretty much can. =))

JINCHUU: R3 - MISSION (5/5) Wed Sep 12 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[SPECIAL MISSION] SAKURA vs. KATANA in "RED ALERT"
An invasion!? Elle is through playing with these ninja. She's hired an entire gang of ruffians to invade Suiryuu. To loot, to pillage, and to create all manner of havoc aboard the ship. While the crew struggles with the invaders, it's up to the Chief of Security aboard the Suiryuu to neutralize the situation. Her orders, from Hiretsu himself, are clear: Repel every intruder, by any means necessary. And do /not/ let the invaders breach the secret area they located on the Promenade Deck, or any locations below deck. All other locations are secondary.
[COMMAND-TYPE MISSION]
PARAMETERS
* Mission defends all named locations and resources aboard.
NOTES
* Either combatant may recruit as many people as they think they might need to balance or appropriately represent the mission. You may or may not RP these recruitments, but keep all scenes fast.
* UNLOCKED LOCATION: Secret Dojo. A hidden armory of weaponry aboard the Suiryuu. What is its purpose?
* Keep recruits to a sensible level (4 players or under, or split up scenes).
* Battles may or may not occur all in the same location (or OOC time) on the ship. As an example, Sakura, Naerose and Katana might be fighting it out in the Dojo, while Hotaru and Birdie fight it out in the hold.
