JINCHUU: The People's Ship Sun Aug 26 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A ship that is almost ghostly in its countenance. It is indeed officially registered in the Japanese naval registry as a luxury yacht, only /said/ to have been built a year ago under commission by private contractors from the Phillipines. A group is listed, but they don't seem to exist..
The only information well known about the ship other than its slightly smaller than usual radar cross section are the ones circulated in the recent promotional footage showing off the specs for the ship the entrants are fighting on:
The people's fighting ship! A famed water dragon gliding sinuously in the ocean!
Just over eighty meters long, the "SUIRYUU" arena yacht is the massive seaborne battleground fated to realize the People's Judgment. Sporting an extended maximum crew capacity of 32 beds and comparible amenities, it has living spaces and recreation areas comparible to that of a high class superyacht. However, the Suiryuu is first and foremost a fighting arena.
The ship sports numerous accessories and implements up to and including a fully stocked armory, tactical library, and many fighting areas specificially designed to allow only the brightest to triumph. For both security and battle purposes, there are numerous anti-piracy measures implemented aboard the ship. This includes an advanced hull powering system that allows the ship to move at speeds up to 33 knots (61 km/h, 38 mph).
Fast becoming well known is the ship's premiere ability, its capacity to disappear in clouds of mist. This is a proprietary technology, but it allows the Suiryuu to move with discretion even through the most hostile territories. Will this be used in the tournament? Keep watching.

JINCHUU: "All Aboard!" Sun Aug 26 2007 Prime
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL ABOARD: Ok, so you've finished your Round 1 fight. What now? Good news - the Suiryuu grid's been built! The ship is now accessable from Southtown Harbor. For more info, also see bbpost 9/38.
GETTING ABOARD: You're on the ship? You stay. If you've physically set foot on the vessel, win or lose, invited or not - you WON'T be kicked off. That includes "interlopers", not just tourney participants. Anyone arriving will be offered hospitality - shown to cabins, dining and recreation areas, etc. The stewards will even offer fresh clothes and toiletries. But they'll refuse to give any info on future fights. And they'll note that any cabin assignments are only...temporary.
BEING ABOARD: But the Suiryuu, while reasonably luxurious...is also strange. The structural elements are odd, the architecture has weird angles and lots of bare metal. Strange lighting and shadows. And then there's the cold. The temperature's prone to change without warning, a chill passing through compartments and corridors. Especially at night. The crew will blame this on a faulty heating system. But sensitives will detect something /very/ wrong with the ambient chi, something affecting the spiritual energy of the environment. Even an average fighter without highly developed senses...will notice something. A bad feeling, maybe, unease. A hint of something being...amiss.
IC SCHEDULE: Most of the Round 1 fights occured near-simultaniously in terms of IC time, or at least within a 24-48 hour span. ICly, the next round will start immediately after. Do note that at the very end of Round 1, Suiryuu will dock for the official opening ceremony. The ship will dock and allow spectators to board. Mostly wealthy fans who've paid a premium for tickets. But any fighter who wishes to ICly watch the tourney will be allowed to board free - and even stay overnight on the ship, cabin space permitting.
OOC SCHEDULE: Reminder, the OOC deadline for Round 1 fights is Wednesday, August 29th, 11:59pm. Now, a lot of folks had weird conclusions to their fights - so please note not everyone will be continuing in the main competitive tourney ladder. However, anyone who's eliminated but still on board the ship... there'll be bonus fights and exhibition matches for you.

JINCHUU: "Prove Yourself" Sun Aug 26 2007 Prime
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plot threads from the Round 1 logs. I've noted these especially, 'cause they pull in people and groups who are actually outside the tourney proper.
* * *
BLACKNOAH: Alan R.B. And his boss, Rugal. The eyes of R are upon Jinchuu - for Rugal believes it cannot be a simple tournament. But while Seishirou may have his little Suiryuu, Rugal has the Blacknoah...
HOUSE: Eiji. One of Krauser's. He's been seen around the tournament. He said something to Kasumi. What's Strolheim's interest in this?
MOBSTER: Nikolai. Boss of the Russian underworld. But his criminal empire is in ruins. He's reduced to...fighting in a tournament? Why has he come to Jinchuu?
METROPOLITAN: Kyle Travers. This was just a tourney - until Elle sent Yamazaki to "eliminate" him. Kyle's called in his own, though - Haggar. If this "Jinchuu" is encouraging scum, there's butt to be kicked.
SUPERCOP: Soma. Agent of Interpol. This Jinchuu has already sent someone to attack him. Why? He's a cop - and his instincts are raised. He's on the case. He's already made a deal with a woman called Elle...
WILDCARD: Elle. Naerose. Blackjack. There's something up with this tournament. They've traced the money. And from Marise, they know the history of Seishirou's clan. They're holding cards. But is it a full deck?
NINJA: Seishirou. Riko. A prize with cash payout in the hundreds of thousands (USD). An entire ship. Everything legal and above board. But where did the money come from? Where did they get the money, the resources? And what is the real purpose of this competition?
PROLETARIAT: Everyone else? Maybe you've cut some deals of your own - with your opponent, say. But what now? Where from here? That's up to you...
