Neo League 351 - #358: Drake vs Aislinn

Description: Newcomer Drake 'Domino' Vysil makes a great showing against The Silent Assassin, in the Shrine! (Winner: Drake)

Neo League's been picking up again, with or without Aislinn; though she hasn't fought in a while, in the League, she still is a sometime participant and, with her change to Seijyun, actually seemed to pick up more fans and hangers-on than she had at Gedo. She was approached to fight one of the new 'Shooting Stars'--a man by the name of Drake, a model by trade as well as a fighter...

"Another Alma," mused Aislinn, as she signed the acceptance. The Shrine's been somewhat cleared and cleaned for the event, the courtyard the setpiece for the battle; a large rectangular area is cordoned off for the fighters, and at the corners are cameramen. Fans of Aislinn's fill one side of the spectator area, intermingled with, of course, Drake fans--even some Seijyun girls who just find the man -too- delicious.

Aislinn--as is her wont--cares not about the man, whether his face is pretty or not--she's only interested in his fighting skills and what she can learn from them. So she waits, wearing her Seijyun uniform, standing straight with her arms clasped behind her back, waiting for her opponent.

Drake arrives after having found the shrine, which was.. something of a hassle. He's only been through the woods once, and the directions he took then were only a fleeting memory. But nevertheless, the model wrestler makes his way through the fight's audience, stepping into what would be considered the arena.
And once inside, Domino turns about to face each direction slowly, his right fist lifted into the air in what could be victory or greeting. Either way, despite his light smile, he seems a bit more subdued today.
Nevertheless, Domino turns to regard Aislinn with a slightly quirked obsidian eyebrow. Another petite female. After his debut for the Neo League, he decides not to take any chances and even think about pulling his punches. Instead, his attention just fixates on the female, giving a nod in her direction in silent greeting.

COMBATSYS: Drake has started a fight here.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn has joined the fight here.

Hmph. Drake -is- handsome, no doubting that. Aislinn raises her head and gazes calmly at Drake, nodding in turn; slowly her arms unfold from behind her and her right leg scoots behind her on the scoured stone flooring of the courtyard. Her left hand curls into a fist, and comes up to her chin, a few inches out; her right assumes a lower guard. All in all, it is a rather traditional karate-style stance she takes.

And it seems as though preparations are ready for the League officials as well; traditionally there is no 'referee' as League events are no-holds-barred, but there is an announcer, and he picks up the microphone.

"Alright! For your viewing pleasure tonight! We have an old hand, a veteran of the Neo League, formerly hailing from Gedo High and now of Seijyun High, Aislinn--the Silent Assassin--Doyle! And facing off against her is a newcomer to the League, Drake 'Domino' Vyril!"

Cheers arise from the crowd for -both- fighters. "And... FIGHT!"

Domino turns from Aislinn long enough to wave to the cheering crowd, then immediately takes his standby stance. The footing shifts, right foot stepping to take the lead. His left fist positions by his chest, and his left fist hovers out before his forward leg at a seemingly relaxed angle.
And then they're called to fight.
Domino moves in quietly, expression set in stoicism. As the distance is closed in, he suddenly drops into a much deeper stance, body angling out, and right fist thrusting out in a sharp, but light punch aimed for Aislinn's midsection.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn blocks Drake's Quick Punch.

The incoming wrestler's right fist meets Aislinn's left forearm; she parries the attack down and away from her body, swinging her left downward to accompany--a 'waxing' block of the kind seen in that movie Karate Kid. A simple, and easy answer, no questions asked.

The question, you see, is going to come just thereafter; Aislinn is attacking almost at the same time that she is deflecting the model's fist, snapping out a quick right hook for his chin--then snapping her right fist back halfway before throwing her right again in a short uppercut. It isn't a traditional karate technique at all--in fact, it's really more of a boxing technique...

COMBATSYS: Drake dodges Aislinn's Medium Punch.

Domino's fist is deflected, which comes as a slight surprise to the model. He was fairly sure an odd-angled strike like that would cut through defenses. Though the moment surprise sets in, he's pulling forward with the deflected and otherwise unused momentum, pulling into a smooth forward roll past her. This renders his opponent's strikes also to no avail, but it also positions the wrestler somewhat behind the female.
Domino simply rolls to his feet and turns to face her. His left arm attempts to hook around her throat, and his right arm attempts to hook under her right arm. If successful, the left hand locks onto his right forearm, slowly applying pressure to her neck in a chokehold.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn fails to counter Quick Throw from Drake with Banishing Needle.

Aislinn turns as the model rolls past her; her arms up, she seemed ready to defend against whatever Drake had in mind...

Except she wasn't, and she endures a chokehold for a few moments before twisting away sharply and tumbling forward, coming up coughing for breath. Chokeholding a girl? Some of the crowd murmur--this wasn't the kind of fight they expected to see from the wrestler...

And amongst that crowd is the very elegant Yurika Kirishima, perhaps one of the few girls her age that can actively lower her presence while actually being smack in the middle of a bunch of people. What was her purpose today? Well, she was rather curious about Aislinn, and had decided to see her fight today.
Also she was rather thankful it wasn't being held in Seijyun.. For slightly more personal reasons. She's completely unfamiliar with the opponent the Silent Assassin is up against but it shouldn't make it any less an entertaining show, she thinks!

A truly silly thought, considering Domino -is- a wrestler. It's what they do. The model keeps the pressure on the girl, whether the crowd agrees with it or not, closing in on her. Once in range, he pulls his body back momentarily onto his back leg, then thrusts himself forward into a deep stance, both hands thrusting out towards her torso in a double palmheel strike. At the final moment of the strike, both palms light up with a bright white flare of energy.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn blocks Drake's Whiteout.

Being that these are cultured Seijyun girls, what they consider 'proper' for a wrestler to do does not include 'choking a bitch', as it is sometimes called. Aislinn would disagree, were she not in the middle of a fight; she knows the reality of the situation. That Yurika is here is a given; that she expects Aislinn to give a good fight doubly so. In other words...

The pressure just went up.

Aislinn finds herself in good position to deal with Domino's flaring palmstrike; hands meet hands and aura meets aura, the flare of energy and the impact doing little to affect the young woman.

As she rebounds from the impact she drops low, twisting, scything her right leg out in a low heel slicer--announced, fortunately or unfortunately, with a slashing arc of red chilectricity that accompanies it!

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Drake with Light Kick.
- Power hit! -

Domino's strike, hard as it may be, doesn't overpower the girl. Huh. Just as he recovers from it, the red arc distracts him.. and he's nailed dead-on. The model is floored, even bouncing from the impact.
Domino quickly rolls aside and gets back to his feet, amethyst eyes narrowing on the girl. He rushes in towards her quickly, sweeping to her left side with a shift of his footing. His right arm attempts to hook over her stomach, while the left arm hooks low, attempting to lift her legs out from under her. Holding her body horizontal to the floor, the wrestler drops to a knelt position, aiming to bring Aislinn's back down upon his upturned knee.

COMBATSYS: Drake successfully hits Aislinn with Strong Throw.

Apparently, Aislinn just can't avoid the damn wrestler; she is dropped onto Drake's knee and can't avoid the scream of pain, short as it is; her back isn't -broken-, but it's very close. Once again she twists away, her expression not as tight as it was before... some very unladylike anger looking to blossom in her lavender eyes. And then she's settling her stance a little, energy blazing up in a circle around her feet, drawn into her and stored, converted... made ready for use.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn gathers her will.

Domino raises back to his feet and narrows his eyes on the female again. Gathering energy? That's.. rarely a good sign. Especially with the apparent fireworks she's preparing.
The wrestler model takes up his stance again, though this time his forward arm lifts upright, fist unfurled. He simply watches her, studying her stance and attempting to prepare for her oncoming attacks.

COMBATSYS: Drake focuses on his next action.

Hnn. Watching. Aislinn is aware of this tactic; rather than employ it herself, she reaches behind her... and pulls out a small ball, somewhat smaller than cue ball. It's light--but made of a hard ceramic--as Drake will find out -if- he gets hit... because what Aislinn is doing is whipping her arm forward, releasing the ball in a straight-line path for Drake's forehead.

She, apparently, is not concerned with making sure Drake's face is alright for future magazine spreads or the like.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Drake with Thrown Object.

The ball nails Domino's head direction, not having really been prepared for that at all. Though he seems rather unshaken by it. He rushes away from the girl to latch onto a wooden support beam. With what may be surprising agility, the wrestler skitters up its side until he reaches near the top, whereupon he vaults clean off of it. His lithe frame twists, aiming to land a crossbody against the girl.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn fails to counter Darkside Slam from Drake with Banishing Hammer.

Sadly... it appears the 'good show' that Yurika was expecting is all for Drake. Aislinn once again thought she had a good place to catch Drake and return some damage... but for whatever reason, she could not stop him, and instead is just flattened to the turf. She doesn't even get up for a long moment; long enough for the officials to almost declare Drake the winner before she rises.

Domino would normally go for a pin after a hit like that, buuuut this isn't exactly wrestling rules. So instead, he backrolls off the downed female and rises smoothly to his feet. He waits on her to see if she's got the energy to continue. And upon seeing that she does, he moves in quickly towards her. This time, he leaps into the air and pulls his body horizontal, leading with an elbow aimed for the female. Head, face, torso - elbow drivers are hard to aim like that.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn fails to counter Strong Punch from Drake with Brutal Hammer.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn can no longer fight.

And once again.. Aislinn's strategy proves to be... worth not much, at least in this fight. Drake's elbow connects with her temple and she simply drops like a rock. She'll be back up--but not before Drake is declared the winner. As for Aislinn--well. She's actually up and gone well before the medics can get to her--shamed, or frustrated, or something. One might be able to tell which way she goes, however, as in the forest surrounding the shrine.. suddenly... a tree falls over, explosively.

That was interesting.. To Yurika Aislinn seemed more.. Aggressive than usual, though perhaps it's a mistake on her part, she's no fighting expert. But the result is still a mild suprise to the Kirishima girl. The overall opinion?
It's tough to say, but Yurika is gone as quickly as she arrived; it's tea time. o/~

The elbow-drive connects apparently pretty solidly, and Domino pulls himself forward into a flip to land on his feet. He eyes the downed girl intently, waiting to see whether she rises or remains on her back. Except...
"K.O.! Your winner! Drake 'Domino' Vyril!"
Domino turns from the downed female and thrusts his fists into the air in acceptance of the audience's praise. Of course, it's mostly Drake's fanbase doing the cheering. Nevertheless, he soaks in the praise, broad smile worn, head tipped back.
After a few moments of this, he turns to check on Aislinn again, no longer needing to be as stoic. Though she's.. gone? A second later, a tree explodes. The wrestler goes wide-eyed for a moment, then gives his head a shake. Huh. He then just turns to the nearest camera and whisks his right hand through his bangs with a wink.
Match over. Now to go make sure he's not been marred in some way.
