Dead or Alive - DOA R1 - Tsinghua vs Aeria Corday

[Toggle Names]

Description: Newcomer to the public scene faces a teenager.

This whole event was promotional.

A sort of cultural exchange between China and India, hosted in large part by the Gong estate in the very middle of the Pinjore gardens- Or rather, the Yadavindra Gardens, at least when you would ask a local. The brunt of the event was taking place in the raised terrace amongst a square plain of water, the terrace, decorated in white and clay colors, served as a nice, large stage for all the performances. It had a small, decorated building at the end of it. The estate's trained dancers had just finished theirs, a dance full of soft motions and long, flowing white garbs.

"And now, in collaboration with the prolific Dead or Alive tournament, we would like to present a fight to display the precise art of the Noble Gong Estate's form of traditional Tai Chi! The messenger's branch of this art employs a walking stick in addition to the usual hand-to-hand form."

The announcer's voice rings out from the installed speakers, and in Tandem, Tsinghua walks out from the small building, dressed in a pristine white Hanfu to match the Estate's signature color. The boy bows to the large crowd standing just past the water's edge. "And to challenge this ancient art, relative newcomer to the worldwide fighting scene, Aeria Corday will be his opponent! Self-Made in both her fighting style and business enterprises, she is sure to provide a strong opposition!"

Aeria doesn't seem nervous at all. She's looking around as she walks to her designated spot when it's her turn. It is truly beautiful. The world is a place of great beauty, she's a pearl among it, at least if you ask her.

When she finally is done with examining the place, she starts waving at the people with a grin on her face. She is Aeria, and she's going to show the world who she is. At least that's the plan.

She ends up getting on the raised terrace, and she sees her opponent. A kid. Well, a teenager. She examines him and remembers she was one herself not so long ago. He deserves respect until proved otherwise. She ends up smiling at him, a confident smile.

She is wearing a semi-translucent black blouse with white dots on it. Underneath is a black bra, leaning more toward practicality, than sexy. She is also wearing a pair of black denim jeans which

which hints at the curves they hide, yet are not tight enough to show everything. To finish that outfit, she is wearing lightweight black boots.

Finally she is where she is supposed to be and gets into her stance. "Let start this cutie!" She tells him, because he was.

COMBATSYS: Aeria Corday has started a fight here.

The odds are... marginally stacked against Aeria, simply because of the nature of this event. It's a promotion for the estate first, and a DOA match second. No-one is expecting much of her, but that gives her all the more chance to impress and surprise. Meanwhile, Tsinghua has a lot of pressure on him as well. This is a pretty big event, supposed to be a display of the Estate's arts and strength. Losing here would be an embarrassment, and his masters would not look kindly upon such an outcome.

Why then, did they not send someone that was more skilled of a fighter then Tsinghua?

The boy looks actively nervous, it's his first fight in a while, not to mention the cirumstance. After having greeted the crowd, he bows shakily toward Aeria, white robes swaying in the wind. "B-best of luck, ms. Corday." he chooses to ignore her compliment, instead drawing the walking stick from his waist. It is a new one, a shaft of white-painted oak with a spherical metal top shaded a jade green. He enters a fairly deep stance, his front palm leading forwards with the walking stick raised above his head, pointing toward Aeria.

The speakers begin blaring a traditional tune full of heavy percussions and flutes. "Begin!" Speaks the announcer.

The boy talks to her. He seems nice enough. Nice... Should he even be here? She tries to be semi-nice, at least with her answer as well. "Luck has nothing to do with it. We will both kick major ass." Left unsaid, she wants to be the one kicking the most ass out of this. Even if the boy has a stick, she has a powerful weapon herself, her mind.

Finally, the announcer says the word 'Begin!' She doesn't lose a second. Her red eyes light up a moment as she sends a mind blast at Tsinghua to act like a flashbang. If she has her way temporarily should disorient the eyes and ears. Following that, she then gives a strong uppercut aiming at his chin, but she doesn't know his speed yet. She aims to make him go in the air. If she hits, her strength may seem disproportionate to her figure.

COMBATSYS: Tsinghua dodges Aeria Corday's Loa Loa.

He just nods in response, but the moment the fight begins- Aeria is already attacking her senses. The boy feels something intruding in his mind, a sharp sound, a flash of blindness. He is unfamiliar with being attacked like is, and he grasps his forehead in confusion. Even though his vision is blurry, he keeps enough of his awareness to see Aeria closing in, and is able to neatly sidestep the uppercut, still slightly dazed. He retaliates quickly however, dashing in low while channeling his energy in his palm, a soft green glow emerging from the hand. He strikes diagonally upward from below, a palm thrust toward the stomach. It is one of the rare advantages of his diminutive size, he can slip past and target from spots that are difficult to defend against.

"W-What was that?"

COMBATSYS: Aeria Corday blocks Tsinghua's Shou Tui.

Aeria knew enough of the signs to know she had affected him, yet, he dodged that uppercut. The kid was no pushover, both in speed and awareness. He simply seems to lack confidence. At least at first glance. She might have to analyze him later. But right now, she has to react quickly to his retaliation. He has surprises of his own. The blow is quick and at a weird angle. He's using his body to his advantage as he should. Aeria can't underestimate Tsinghua. She reacts quick enough to grab his wrist and stop the full blow from happening, although the stomach still gets part of the hit. She takes it well. "That's it, skills, not luck!" She starts to answer his question, as her next attack is on the way, eyes lighting up again for a second. "My own little bag of tricks."

Tsinghua would feel something in his mind again, but the effect would be different. If she has her way, for a short moment, breathing would be more difficult. As it happens, with her free hand, she strikes an open palm, toward his sternum. As soon as it hits, or he moves away, she releases the wrist. She seems to have fun with this, testing herself against an opponent of his calibre

Aeria's precise fighting style dissassembles both Tsinghua's offense and defense in one fell swoop. First, the grabbing of his wrist. That's one arm gone, seeing as he doesn't have the physical strength to pull it loose, or the time to twist out of it strategically. And then, another trick.

"Gak-!" It catches the boy unaware entirely, as his breath gets stuck in the throat. And in a foolish reaction, his one free hand moved to feel his own neck. Aeria's own palm strike comes in so swiftly after that that the messenger's hand hadn't moved yet, crashing into the middle of his chest and blowing him far backward as Aeria releases him. It sends his back skeeing across the terrace, stopping just shy of hitting the water as he coughs and hacks in pain.

In reaction of this exhange, the crowd Ooooo's in surprise. "Utho, bachche!" (get up, kid!) A spectator yells in Hindi. The envoy pushes himself off the ground, still grasping his throat as he finally begins to regain his breath- That palm strike really blew it out of him. He re-adjusts his stance, though shakier then before. He begins circling around, making sure to place himself further away from the water as he observes his opponent's movements. Both of them rely on precision, he'll have to form a sound strategy to face this opponent.

COMBATSYS: Tsinghua calculates his next move.

That moved worked as she wanted it, from start to finish. She can't help but smirk. By the boy's reaction, he never met someone like her. Of course not she's Aeria. She's the one and only. "Hang in there. You're not out of the game yet!" Was she just being nice to him, or did she want to keep having a challenge with him? Maybe a bit of both, who knows. When he does not come back immediately on her, she decides to press her advantage. She runs toward him, and at a bit of a distance, she jumps and spins around with her fist extend. A sort of jumping backfist. It seems aimed at his face. How she lands, depends if she actually hits or not.

"R-Right." The boy responds, nodding. But in her sprint, he does see something.

An opportunity.

The spinning backfist comes for his cheek, he had anticipated her moving in as such- And it seemed she might have, to some degree, overextended. In any case, he dips his head just low enough to evade while turning, lashing out toward her legs with the cane while spinning counter-clockwise. The cane begins to sprout glowing blooms as it is infused with his Chi "Wu!" Another spin, as his cane smoothly moves up to lash out diagonally downward toward the shoulder. "Yi!" And finally, he leaps, spinning around once more before coming down in a big overhead slam, landing in a low stance with his front leg stretched out far foward, his free palm facing backward. "Qi!"

He can only hope his combination of attacks went over well, since this might be his best opportunity to swing the fight in his favor, at least for a little bit.

She did overextend. She didn't have many options. At least she didn't fall in the water, at least not yet.

She tries to dodge, the only thing she could try, but there was no way to make anything work at this moment. The first blow, hitting her, makes a *wack* sound as it hits her leg well and makes her lean on her other leg. The second hit smacks her shoulder with an even louder *wack* the chi is not helping Aeria any. The last *wack* happens on her head. A perfect attack from Tsinghua. She remains upright, but her legs tremble a short moment. "Ouch. Nice blow, pumpkin. You will have to do better, though."

Her grin quickly comes back. This time she doesn't move physically toward him. Instead, her eyes light up for a third time this match. Then if it works, Tsinghua would get a feeling of his brain getting crushed. He might even feel like he would die from this. But no fear, even if it happens as she wishes, the damage, of course, wouldn't be permanent. Her eyes also clear up, as if some subtle healing was taking place during the match.

A success! The boy made sure to angle his strikes to have a better chance of catching a potential dodge, and that attempt seemed to have worked. His combination of three strikes each connecting in a satisfying Rythm, the Chi bursting free with every impact. The flowers blooming from his stick would recede afterward.

The next exchange, however, would be confusing to any onlooker.

Tsinghua prepared himself for the counterassault, not just steeling his body, but attempting to steel his mind as well- Since that was seemingly the target Aeria is able to attack. But even with that attempt, it wasn't enough. A pressure builds in his head, a pressure that makes it feel like the inside of his brain was imploding- Crushed together. A feeling of pure, intense pain. And as such, from the spectator's point of view the boy begins to writhe and groan out of nowhere. Grasping his skull as he collapses. "H-Haaaaah!" A sort of pain that he couldn't escape from, or that he knew how to resist. Though at a certain point, it must have stopped since the messenger was able to rise to his feet, absolutely shaking as the crowd jeers. Toward Tsinghua or Aeria? It's not entirely clear.

He almost falls through his legs, Aeria's psychic attack didn't just hurt, it seemingly also sapped his energy. He thrusts out his cane sharply while stepping back, attempting to gain distance from Aeria in an attempt to regain his composure.

She gives him a wink when he has recovered enough. A lot of people's brains are so fragile. Of course, she wouldn't make it last forever, even if she could. Where would be the fun in that?

She didn't care about the jeers, even if they might be for her. She fully assumes what she is. So what if people didn't like her. She didn't care one bit. It wasn't why she was here.

To her, Tsinghua move to get away is kind of easy to see. She moves out of the way, letting the cane hit thin air as she goes into her attack, a simple kick. It's quick, aiming for his side. It doesn't look like she's trying to hurt him on that one. She's either testing the distance or she's playing with him, or something along that line.

A smooth dance of blows and dodges play out, a whiffed thrust, leading to the side-kick, which Tsinghua dodges with a backward hop, somewhat clumsily. The pain is beginning to fade somewhat, but he is still taking it easy. Holding the staff at it's very end, he peforms a long range horizontal swing toward his opponent's head. He seems rather... scared. The attacks to his mind, his opponent's disturbing wink and smile. He doesn't like this, but he'll have to keep trying. Displaying weakness under the Estate's own event can't go down well for him

Like a dance is right as it is Tsinghua's turn to dodge that kick. She doesn't look terribly surprised about that one, but she smiles at him, like she was proud. The weird Aeria.

Soon after, the staff is coming toward her head. SHe didn't like it the first time. She doesn't particularly want it a second time. She brings her left hand up, to catch the staff. Low and behold, she actually does. Who would have thought. She then pulls on it, to get Tsinghua in range. When he is. She releases said staff, but grabs his left wrist, twisting to make him drop on one knee. When he is. She slams her knee into his nose. There was no playing this time. She wanted to tire him up further. Looks like she wanted the knock out. Yet, she knew better to think she had it in the bag. Who knows what he could do still. After that knee against his nose, she let go of the wrist.

Unfortunately, the businesswoman's brutal precision seems to outpace his own.

His wrist twisted and forced to his knees, he soon finds that his opponent's knee has buried itself deep into his delicate face. "Aiiii!" He yelps out, his nose beginning to bleed as his brain is shaken around, making him even weaker in the knees then he already was. To say that she had it in the bag might not be as far from the truth then Aeria would think, Tsinghua is entirely outclassed. He is so deeply exhausted that he can't muster the energy to go for anything except basic strikes.

Though maybe he could use that?

The memento from that twisted Springtide Rosalia, nestled deeply in his robes. The small stick engraved with apparently great magical power. It was supposed to make him stronger, but.. "No, this is.. not the time.." He is not in danger. This fight is organized, and moreover, at that point, he wouldn't be using the Gong's teachings for his victory- it would defeat the purpose of the entire ordeal. He rises from his knees with an broad upward swipe of the cane toward Aeria. While it wasn't a lot, he still had just a little fight left in him.

She looks at him. He looks tired. It seems like what she was aiming for is working right now. He seems to hesitate a moment though. She smiles again. Why does she keep smiling and such? Who knows.

Then it happens, Tsinghua makes up his mind and does a broad upward swipe with his staff. Or cane, Aeria things of it as a staff, so staff it is here. She slams her right arm down to block the staff. She feels it in her arms, it wasn't super pleasant, but it doesn't hurt her too much either. Then she brings the heel of her left palm upward hard, to that already damaged nose of the poor teen. "Stay down now, if you know what's good for you. Or I will make you." She gives a bow after those words, but her guard was still up.

It makes sense that the crowd had gone mostly silent. After all, the last exchanges have been brutal. The normal back-and-forth of a fight replaced by Aeria crushing the poor boy's attempts over and over. Frankly, it was hard to watch for some.

Where that first blow to his nose caused it to bleed, the palm that struck it afterward got it to break, causing him to tilt over backward for a final time, his nose gushing blood over the decorated floor after landing on his back. Still conscious, Aeria's threat is recieved. And in this dire situation, he simply cannot get himself to resist any more, he remains limp, and closes his eyes, waiting for the announcer to call the match in Aeria's favor. "Now that is one scary lady!" A silence, the announcer seemingly a little unsure how to continue.

"I-It seems that we have ourselves a winner, ladies and gentlemen! In a surprising twist, this lethal lady of business has overtaken the noble Estate's ancient arts!"

A part of the crowd claps and cheers, but a different part doesn't. They look upon the scene of the fight with more fear then excitement. Others dissapointment, they came to see the Estate's arts, and Tsinghua has done a poor job of displaying them. And in the middle of it, the envoy just listens to all of it, as he feels his conciousness slip away further and further.

COMBATSYS: Tsinghua takes no action.

She raises her left arm up when she is declared the winner, with a knowing grin "One down mom. She isn't surprised by this outcome. But she seems to have compassion for the young Tsinghua. She kneels near him and raises his arm. "He did great. And you will see, he will kick some real ass, one day." Her voice probably isn't heard by many. Then she moves to leave the area. She was sure someone would come for Tsinghua and help him out. Well, 90% sure. At this point, it wasn't her problem, she already had been very nice to him. So she thinks anyway. Hopefully, they take care of their own.
