Description: ERIKA and KAZUKI face off in BELT MASSACRE '17, the beginning of the marathon for the Blue Pro belt!
The G-King Arena was moderately packed. The announcement of the Gauntlet got attention, of course, but the event at hand is undercard material at best. People are taking their time to arrive. The arena is configured in a fairly simple manner: a large, square platform made of pads and raised about two feet off of the ground, surrounded by well maintained sand. The platform itself is marked around the edges, one half blue and one half red.
Kazuki Kirigana is standing on the longest edge of the red half of the arena, in his Gedo High colored gi and hakama, along with the riotously colored black and white and blue headphones, which he passes off to a stage hand. He looks around at the gathering crowd, squinting as he does so.
Something sounds... off here.
Erika gets the blue side, because of course she does.
Actually, that's the first sign Kazuki might get that something is a little off here, because his opponent matches her side's colour. Not her clothes, which consist of a black vest, held sort of vaguely closed with a single button, and a pair of black denim shorts. But her herself: Erika is a pale blue, her hair a blue-violet.
Also, if he's looking for chi, she has a lot of it. It's loud. It wants to do something, as does she - and it's already leaking out a little, given the vaguely damp footprints she leaves on the pads where she freezes just a bit of water out of the air, which melts as soon as she steps away from them. She's full of energy - and personality-wise too.
She blows a kiss up at the crowd as she steps up into her half, then looking at Kazumi with some interest. "So you're the guy," she says, thoughtfully. "You don't look like much, you know!"
Kazuki watches and, perhaps more importantly, listens to Erika as she approaches. His eyes narrow a bit as he realizes what he is seeing. He tilts his head to one side as Erika notes being unimpressed, noting the comments with a slight frown. He bows slightly at the waist, before sliding into what appears to be a ready stance. His left hand is low, at waist level, while his right hand is just below the level of his own chest. Both hands are open, and his eyes are focused on the woman in front of him.
"I am not sure what you were expecting," Kazuki says in an almost formally polite tone of voice. He waits for the bell to ring, his breathing regular and relaxed.
COMBATSYS: Erika has started a fight here.

Kirigana seems a little quicker off the mark than his opponent, taking a flurry of quick steps in order to close the gap between the two fighters. He wastes little time before snapping off a pair of swift, but not very heavy, punches to Erika's medsection and chin!
COMBATSYS: Kazuki successfully hits Erika with Staccato.

"Well, I mean," Erika says, "you don't look /interesting/. And I don't think I've seen you fight, have I?" Erika's memory is not always the best - well, it's completely gone past a certain point, but sometimes things slip her mind if they're not the most interesting since then.
She taps her chin for a moment, then shrugs. "Whatever! They're going to ring the bell, so... "
And indeed they do. Erika is actually ready pretty quickly, but automatically shifts into a defensive position rather than an offensive one, bringing up her hands to deflect Kazuki's blow. She doesn't quite manage it, and he drives the fists into her stomach, recoiling back enough that he can't land a solid chin blow but still getting a glancing strike in.
Hitting Erika is, fortunately, not like hitting frozen meat. She's not any harder or denser than any other fighter... but she is colder. Her body temperature can't be much above freezing, if any. It gets worse when she strikes back, stomping her foot. Ice starts to spread across the pad closest to her - ice which rises up into a wave about knee-high, rushing across the ground toward Kazuki while Erika takes a couple steps backwards. "That was more interesting, though!"
COMBATSYS: Kazuki parries Erika's Ice Wave!

Kazuki's ears perk a bit as the ice starts to form. Instinctively, but very against much against the methods of his style, he leaps at Erika, grabbing for the front of her vest. The plan is simple: throw a knee in the gut to stagger the woman, then slam her to the mat. Possibly on some of the ice she created!
"I will try not to be too boring," he says politely.
COMBATSYS: Kazuki successfully hits Erika with Forza EX.

Kazuki 1/----===/=======|===----\-------\0 Erika
It's been a while since anybody grabbed at Erika's vest. There's not a lot of loose fabric there, which means a would-be grabber has to put his hands in dangerous positions. As a result...
...it works pretty well! Erika didn't expect that at all. She lets out a yelped "Gah," followed by a grunt as the knee takes her right in the gut. If he wanted to stagger her, he did a very good job, and tossing her to the ground works pretty well too. Landing her on the ice doesn't help any more than anywhere else, though; she wasn't freezing the mats solid, it's just a feathery layer of thin rime that would melt from a finger touching it.
Still, hitting the mats hard enough is its own problem. Erika rolls aside, slightly dazed; she pushes herself back up, to knees and then bouncing to her feet. "You're the handsy type, huh," she says, sounding more amused than upset. She makes a sudden lunge toward Kazuki, going for a solid punch toward his midsection - except /her/ hand starts to spark with whitish chi as she does, ice forming across her knuckles like a pair of brass knuckles!
COMBATSYS: Erika successfully hits Kazuki with Medium Punch.

Kazuki 1/----===/=======|====---\-------\0 Erika
The water on the mat is enough, though, as Kazuki's foot slides as he attempts to slip the imcoming punch. It strikes hard enough to force the wind out of Kirigana, as he staggers back a pace or two. He frowns slightly, thinking over what just happened. Not much time for consideration, though, as he drives in close before planting his feet to deliver a brutal shoulder to Erika's midsection.
Of course, that is not all he is doing. Kazuki is also reaching for one of the woman's arms to pull on, using the planted shoulder as a fulcrum to put her on the mat again!
COMBATSYS: Erika fails to deflect Crushing Throw from Kazuki with Frigid Aegis.

'What just happened' is pretty obvious to Erika. But then again, she's the one with the chi causing the environmental effects. She's used to the random condensation and rime on things, even if it never really bothers her very much.
"Ah, it's been a while since I've had a real match!" The last one was... during Mortal Kombat? Well, Erika left that pretty quickly when she had a route to do so, when she realized she wasn't going to get the treasure she was hoping for, but it's still been a while. She twists as Kazuki reaches for her arm, starting to form something connected to her hands, a flat plane of ice with ribbons of chi shot through it -
The shoulder-check knocks her off balance enough for him to manage to grab her. As he twists her arm, she loses the grip on her chi, and the forming plane dissolves into a cloud of white-blue sparkles; this causes a billow of cold air but nothing harmful. It also means he has her in a lock, and with a pained yelp she finds herself being spin, falling to land on her back on the mat with a heavy thump.
"Ow," she says, sounding a little dizzy. But she's still moving, and clearly able to pick herself up - she's starting to recover already - so that's not a victory for Kazuki yet!
Kazuki takes two swift steps away from Erika, thinking for a moment. He makes a quick decision, and decides that dragging this out is not a wise plan. He's decent with chi in fights, but obviously not at Erika's level in that category. He watches, waits, and listens.
In a gesture that is almost subconscious, his head starts to bob to an unheard beat. His hands seems to flex slightly to the same beat, but his eyes stay on Erika as if he were intent on something.
COMBATSYS: Kazuki focuses on his next action.

Kazuki 1/----===/=======|======-\-------\0 Erika
Kazuki backing off gives Erika time to recover and get to her feet, so that's nice.
She's starting to look a little battered; nothing's broken, but she's moving a little more stiffly than she was before when she turns to face Kazuki. She's still got that grin, though it looks perhaps just a hair less cocky than it did at the beginning of the match. She's trying to look confident. It mostly works. The crowd certainly doesn't know any better at that distance.
He's been kind of tossing her around though. Erika doesn't like it. She'll have to pick up the pace.
Erika brings one hand - two fingers, really - to her mouth and blows a kiss, this time at Kazuki. This would be meaningless except she exhales some chi when she does it, and there's a tiny spark of white-blue light on her fingertips as she points them toward Kazuki; it drifts away, picking up speed and intensity as it does, forming a whirling sphere of sparkling chi and tiny snowflakes and ice chips that might to surround his head for several critical moments! "Show me what you've got and I'll show you what I have~!" she calls, almost taunting.
COMBATSYS: Kazuki blocks Erika's Whiteout.

Kazuki's movements are swift, a flicker of green light surrounding his arms as he sweeps them in front of his head to dispel the incoming projectile. "I had thought I already was," he replies calmly as he regards the slightly reddened skin on his hands and forearms. The limbs were slightly numbed by the chill, which draws a frown from Kazuki.
Not much for it, he supposes, before closing the gap between the two of them quickly. He funnels chi through his hand as he simply drives a palm upward under Erika's chin with enough force to snap her teeth together!
COMBATSYS: Kazuki successfully hits Erika with Syncopation.

Kazuki 1/----===/=======|=======\-------\1 Erika
"Aw, is that all?" Erika is clearly winding up to do... something else. The temperature around her is dropping a little, which is visible as a faint mist forming in the air as the water vapour starts to condense into fog. But she hasn't done it yet.
She hasn't done it when Kazuki drives his palm into her face, either. The aura of cold around her intensifies further, deepening uncomfortably as Erika's flow of chi increases, and it follows her when she lurches back. She literally bit off her words - with her jaw smashed closed, whatever she was about to say is lost, and her jaw hurts enough that she doesn't immediately start saying it again afterwords.
Now she's definitely losing, and she knows it. She snarls, a much less happy sound, and reaches out toward Kazuki. The chilling aura spreads, an icy spread forming along wherever she touches - and she's trying for Kazuki, to rest a hand on him and start numbing him even more than before! The fog swirls around her, agitated by her movement and the sudden intensity of the cold...
COMBATSYS: Kazuki interrupts Deep Freeze from Erika with Coda.

Kazuki 0/-------/----<<<|=======\=====--\1 Erika
Kazuki takes note, with a bit of distress, as the fog rolls in. He braces up slightly, letting out a kiai of his own, as he calls to the wind. The air around Kazuki swirls violently, blasting away the fog but not the extreme cold Erika is bringing to the arena. The chill starts to bite and claw at the Aikidoka even as he starts his charge.
Kirigana starts by slamming an elbow into the woman's gut, before rising up to drive his shoulder into her chest. Kazuki's arms lash out snagging that skimpy vest and one arm before rising in a pivoting motion.
The circular movement, accompanied by a massive gust of wind that sweeps the fog away, is sufficient to hurl the cold woman clear across the arena with a violent impact!
The fog is just a sign. Erika is definitely running on all cylinders now; she's doing a /lot/ with her chi right now. The cold air energizes her, as does the power she's drawing on. She can't do it forever, of course, but the idea is that she doesn't need to.
After her freezing touch, Erika draws back for something else. She spreads her chi just to her side, making a lumpy wall - not a wall, actually, but a cluster of icicles in midair, preparing for launch. But Kazuki re-closes the distance faster than she expected, driving a shoulder into her chest.
He grabs at her vest, and Erika is half-expecting it this time but is too close to do much about it; she twists her upper body, causing the vest to shift in Kazuki's hands. She was trying to get him to drop it, but unfortunately he gets a rather solid grip right at the midpoint, provided he's willing to leave his hand there for the amount of time it takes him to pivot, release -
Erika slams into the mat, sliding. This time she does not get up, and with her impact the cluster of icicles explodes outward in every direction; some of them might hit Kazuki. She knows she won't win (or, well, she knew just before she hit, and she'll know again in a couple moments when she comes to) but she didn't exactly want to leave him unscathed, either!
The deep chill starts to fade a few moments after her impact.
COMBATSYS: Erika can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Kazuki blocks Erika's Icicle Disaster.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <
The clump of icicles all but explode point-blank, and it is all Kazuki can do to get into something approaching a defensive posture to protect his vitals. Spears of ice slam into his arms and legs, tearing the fabric of his uniform, and splattering blood across the arena. Kirigana wobbles, and drops to one knee, gasping in pain from the attack.
He whips his head around, looking at Erika to prepare for her next gambit, but the referee is waving for the bell. He grins weakly before standing. He bows once, slightly more deeply than he had at the start of the match, and then hops off of the stage to get his wounds looked at.
COMBATSYS: Kazuki has ended the fight here.
